He played his best Football at Lille in a counter-attacking team. You obviously don't get brought for £72 million if you've got no talent and he did show it in flashes for us but he wasn't consistent enough. He didn't suit our style.

Pepe failed because Arteta didn’t want him. Not for footballing reasons, must be something else because he scored the goals but got completely frozen out. He didn’t get the Willian or Havertz treatment, he got the Guendozi one. We may never know what transpired behind closed doors but that was a very expensive breakup, now he’s gone for absolutely nothing

Pepe never failed… the manager clearly had an agenda. Look at the amount of time he had for William, Xhaka, Havertz etc. We love Arteta but he clearly has favourites and Pepe was not one of them. Let’s not forget that after Pepes best season where he got pretty good numbers, Arteta dropped him and only gave him the last 15mins in games to do anything.

I remember the AFC official video released of when Pepe was just signed and being shown around the Arsenal Stadium and facilities and meeting the staff for the first time. He looked so unhappy which wasn't a good sign. This was in contrast to Declan Rice who looked much happier at his move in his introduction video.
