This is only a question i want to pose. I worked for a company in manufacturing/ purchasing supervision. What we did was manufacture what are called mud cleaning systems, and directional drill rigs to specs of purchaser. Many types of these units were quite large, and if my memory serves me right could pull back a 2 1/2 foot bit at many pounds of pressure. Units are made by various manufacturers. Anyhow, these can be directed by a sond unit, it gives depth and spot. The end of the bit being pushed forward has a wedge shape. The sond unit tells you orientation so you can direct up, down, left, and right. You have contractors up in that area that install pipe (plastic or metal) for natural gas and fiber optics. It may save (may) save in cost. Someone would need to analyze.
I figure this has to be resolved soon because these guys are branching out to other treasure finding shows. This team has probably signed paperwork to keep their mouths shut until this season is over. I would think this has to be the last season.
@@greglapointe1311 pretty easy to keep there mouths shut when there is nothing to tell, HA ha. last season they will say, " we tried, now we know someone got to it before us" then move on to next $$ maker treasure show.
It’s there just gotta keep looking, or someone got it a long time ago, but without doubt there was or is a treasure on oak island. Irony the pit which is referred to as “the money pit” has never delivered a dollar.
A dead ant?! On oak island!? Could that ant have known the secrets of the treasure?! Did the knights templar communicate with ants as a way to keep the treasure hidden?
@@conditionallyunconditional5691 dont forget booby trapped ant tunnels! Sea water filling them up so there is no evidence that the Templars actually entrusted the ants with their secrets.
Narrarators Wife : Honey I need to take the car in for service on Saturday Narrarator: Saturday? car service? could it be an oil change or regular service? experts say YES
The way I watch this show is to watch the 'Coming up tease' at the start of the show then I scrub past the bulk of the program to catch the 'Next week' tease - this gives me back 50 minutes of my life where I don't have to watch wood being dug up.
I'm sure they will find something amazing or go bust when more people figure out your trick. As long as people tune in and sponsors provide money to the History Channel they will milk it for all it is worth. Personally, I watch every once in a while and haven't missed anything. Although I really like the show and lived in Downeast Maine, love the beauty of the area, I found the "another piece of wood/top pocket find" thing tiresome some years ago.
I'm beginning to think this is an experiment in gullibility... Only 8 seasons to be on the verge of discovering something? And folks still tune in to watch? *WOW!*
They cram 8 minutes of new footage and information into every 60 minute episode! I DVR it and speed through the other 22 minutes of bad narration, commercials and repeated footage every week
I want them to find something but Mr. Ball didn't get rich growing cabbage. He may have found and reburied most of the treasure on one of his properties. They'll have to search all of them if they don't find anything where they are looking now.
Agree! I think the bias in how they view it is taking over. They want there to be a treasure not found so they overlook pretty clear evidence that Samuel Ball probably found it. They keep saying "maybe he found a part of it". "Assuming" that there was treasure, if Ball stumbled upon a big chest of pirate gold, why would there be "more"? Why would he just stop and not look to see if there was more? I think it is common sense if he was the only guy on the island and he found some treasure, that might be all there was..but they blow right past that for some reason
Me too. I never expected to get such a laugh from the sarcasm written in the comments. I think some of the commentors could write better dialogue for the narrator.
It's claimed 7 lives, I wish they'd update their story. The 7th was Charles Barkhouse's Father who spent 50 years on the Island searching and died last year.
I love this show. For me, Its one of those shows that is so bad it's great. Watching people getting really excited about finding an odd shaped stone; lmao. I really hope they find a treasure; they deserve it, but who's going to die?
I actually think this is the best show of this "type". They actually found some interesting things like that cross, which puts it into the 1% of these kids of shows. Most are like those stupid ghost hunters where they have to pretend a creaking board means something. It is more the journey now than the destination. I tune in to see what in the world was happening on that island because obviously "someone" was there. I don't think they will find treasure. it is more like a historical mystery at this point for most viewers
Plot Twist: they actually found the treasure during filming of Season 2 and the Deep State/ Illuminati is forcing them to cover up the fact and string the public along indefinitely.
Okay, so I just have to say it: I've been a devoted fan of "The Curse of Oak Island" since the beginning. There was nothing you could do to pull me away from the TV while watching the first seven seasons. Then when the details on Season 8 were made public, I was floored to hear there were so many new episodes - surely it was going to be amazing with so many new discoveries! God, was that naive. To spend how many episodes watching them uncover a path of stones from underneath the swamp has felt like we're watching paint dry....with a new coat each episode so we can watch THAT dry too. I appreciate the producers wanting to give us as much as possible, but even the Laginas look dead tired this season. Marty's never there (and when he is, he's got his nose far up in the air) and Rick...I can only imagine Rick's looking back at Dan Blankenship and Fred Nolan and wondering if he really wants the same fate they had. What's left? Watching Gary Drayton and Jack "Scrappy-Doo" Begley dance in the forest over the most recent Cracker Jack prize they dig up? God love 'em, but I'll pass. It was a good run, but really - it's rather like "Finding Bigfoot" at this point: If they find anything, it'll hit the news well before an episode is edited and aired. But consider this pitch: If they do find anything of value, how about a spin-off series focusing on the Laginas after they realize they won't see a penny when everyone that helped them during the hunt is lined up with their hands out? Now THAT would hold our attention, bless 'em all.
Season 9 The Curse of Oak Island has been cancelled! The reason is the Money Pit has run dry. Stay tuned as Rick and Marty attempt to book passage on a slow boat to China to avoid paying for the damage done to the Island!
I think the swamp was built to be a 1700s style swimming pool. History Channel should put some concrete in the swamp and make a nicer modern outdoor swimming pool / ice skating rink.
I think they've dropped the ball!!! Barney Fife could have solved this mystery in the first episode. I can hear him say, "I'm telling you, Andy. That Ball fella done helped himself with a heap load of those fancy looking jewels and thangs. Old man Henry raised cabbage too, but you never see him with much of nothing..
I saw another show about Oak Island and it said there were mines made to get gold which was taken off the island but it turned out to be ‘fools gold’ so all the wood they are hitting could be mining tunnels- and the same for the other features- they thought they were bringing home gold!
I really want to wake up one morning and these guy's finally find this thing there's way to much that happened on this island for nothing to be there and Marty's right It can't keep hiding they our close.
I find it hard to believe people would have dug down over 100 feet vertically to hide treasure! They must have been fighting water intrusion seeing that the water table is not far beneath the surface. Kinda seems impossible without modern day pumps to keep water out.
If they don't find the treasure they'll be the talk of the town as the world's biggest fools! Could it be there never was any treasure on Oak island and the money pit was used for another more useful purpose!
C'mon History Channel, you can put up full episodes of other shows, but you can't put up full episodes of Oak Island? It would help us people who don't have TV'S!!!!
It's aggravating to see so little done at a time. My dad was wanting to go to this island way before he died. He said he knew where the gold was. And that digging was never going to lead anyone to it. That many would die trying to find it, when in fact it is hidden where no one should ever think. Like the gift you'd hide from a sweetheart or a child, in plain sight. Well I've told you all I can except that my dad, did go to the island alone just 1 time after he was out of the Army. So I believed him when he told me he knew where it was. He also said he couldn't lift it by himself. Because it would take more than him to do it and because of it's age it will fall apart. He's gone now. But the best information he gave was, it's in plain sight. My dad never lied to me. Hope this helps all of you somehow.
The history channel here in Philippines for treasure hunt some vedios has been deleted not showing to the people subscriber why? Maybe Because the treasure on that site was found! How sad to Philippine people's waiting for what you discovered.
The treasure, if there was one, was probably found a couple of hundred years ago and the guy probably kept his mouth shut about it. Samuel Ball I believe is the farmer's name.
Could it be possible that Samuel Ball found the treasure over two hundred years ago...and if so did he buy several acres of land throughout the region?
Everytime they find a button or a coin or a shoe sole . They high five each other. "Yesssss baby "experts say it was from the mid 1600-1700s Same frickin thing for 8 years.
I bet they drilled right through the treasure and kept on drilling and drilling, because Rick claims he had proof of how deep the treasure was and they still hadn't found the flood tunnel yet
Every video is a possible Discovery or a new discovery but yeah you never discover anyting you find a piece of wood or nail and you think that's some mind-boggling discovery
