Inspired by lizards? Endangered species? Seems pretty clear to me they should be successors of the Salamanders!

@@BenjisHobbies Maybe they aren't seen across the galaxy much because they have their hands full defending a planet with a giant, continent-wide rainforest on it from various baddies. Votann try to strip mine the place, Drukhari throw a kegger, Tyranids stop for lunch, over and over again, get off my lawn!
@KrullMaestaren
@KrullMaestaren Год назад
That was literally my first thoughts as well. Benjis colorful scheme is honestly better and Salamanders don't mind decoration so I could see lizard based stripes and spots of various types on Sargents, Liutenants etc :)

Definitely feels like they should be a Salamanders successor chapter. Since they are inspired by the electric blue gecko, maybe call them the thunder lizards. You could give them some lightning bolt motifs and add some lizard skin cloaks, and loin cloths etc.

Beautiful colours. I love turquoise and other blue-green colours. As others said, they should be a Salamanders successor chapter....and adding some lizard scales like the salamanders and alpha legion have would be a super cool feature!
@Nomortem
@Nomortem Год назад
If you roll with the chapter being a Salamanders successor as others have suggested, you could keep it simple and go with Blue Geckos, then use the scientific name as the name of your chapter master and all that.

A little tip, though improved the speedpaint resin is still allergic to water when its "fresh". A wetpallete is unfortunately "bad" for the paints. Try using a "normal" palette or throw away pallets like bottlecups. This might help improve your expierience. :)

If you go with them being a Salamanders successor, you could still use a different set of rules to make them play the way you want. Raven Guard might facilitate a more sneaky style of play, just as an example.

If you continue making guys with this color scheme, I think actually using all of the different blue speed paints instead of just one and letting each guy have subtle variations in color, just like a real lizard, could look cool. Maybe.

Great video. Real life inspiration is fantastic. My rippa's snarlfangs are based on my Rottweiler. And my squigs are all tree frog colours. Just got the new snarlfangs set of 5 and I toying with the idea of foxes. Goblins riding giant foxes sound convincing 😀 Again great video

Tip: you shouldnt use a wet palette with AP speed paint they even say it themselves. They can ruin the sponge. Instead use a hard palette which can be washed with just water after painting.

It's always nice to have a bit of a story behind your models and colour schemes, definitely makes the the process more interesting and rewarding! Enjoyed this one dude, great job. And now some thoughts on the chapter itself: The Sons of Lygodact, successors of the Salamanders who specialise in guerilla warfare tactics and use holo fields to blend into their surroundings. You could use Alpha Legion transfers (unless you want to make your own!), and Lygodact could even be a named character for you. Chapter Master Lygodact and Chaplain Williamsi etc - go nuts! :)

Please consider this or i cant watch you videos anymore: Depth of field (DOF) is a concept in photography that describes the range in a photo from front to back that appears in sharp focus. In a photograph, there's typically one 'plane' that's perfectly in focus. The area in front and behind this plane that appears acceptably sharp constitutes the DOF. Three primary factors affect the DOF: Aperture: This is the opening of the lens through which light enters the camera. It's denoted by an f-number (for example, f/2.8, f/8, f/16, etc.). A lower f-number corresponds to a larger aperture (more light enters) and shallower DOF (less area in focus). A higher f-number indicates a smaller aperture (less light enters) and a larger DOF (more area in focus). Focal length: This is the distance between the lens and the image sensor. A lens with a longer focal length will have a shallower DOF than a lens with a shorter focal length. Distance to the subject: The closer the subject is to the camera, the shallower the DOF will be. To film Warhammer miniatures for RU-vid, you need a setup that allows for close focusing and a sufficient DOF to keep the entire miniature in focus. Here are some requirements for the camera and lens: Camera: Preferably a DSLR or mirrorless camera that allows manual control over settings such as aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. This will give you the flexibility to adjust the DOF as needed. Lens: A macro lens would be ideal. Macro lenses are designed for close-up photography and can capture small subjects in great detail. A lens with a focal length between 60mm and 100mm would be a good start. Aperture: To get the whole miniature in focus, you will want a larger DOF, which means using a higher f-number. However, keep in mind that very high f-numbers (like f/16 or f/22) might introduce diffraction, reducing image sharpness. Experiment to find the sweet spot. Lighting: Good lighting is crucial, especially when using a smaller aperture (high f-number), as less light is let into the camera. Tripod: As you'll likely be using slower shutter speeds to compensate for the smaller aperture, a tripod can help avoid camera shake and maintain sharpness. Focus: Use manual focus for precision. Some cameras also offer focus peaking, which highlights the areas in focus, making it easier to ensure the entire miniature is sharp. Remember to experiment with different settings to see what works best for your specific setup and desired look.
