Tim I know exactly what you mean about johnny's rops we have hit a many of tree with ours forgetting it was up it happens a lot. LOL Christy you did a great job in this video Where is Christy when we need her to help with the last load of dirt or rock. One thing we do when we have a load of dirt or rock delivered we use either large tarps or sheets of plywood to have the load dumped on so the final cleanup is easier and we dont get stuff al doen in the turf in the ground. Joe does have a lovely home and property reminds of several of our customers places we take care of the rock and stone he has done is really nice. Great job guys as always. Have a great weekend. God Bless!!!

Completely agree with you Tim on the "can't get stuck with a loader on" comments. I had my 2320 with the loader and the backhoe so stuck while crossing a pond drain before, that it took my F250 sitting on the opposite bank and two lengths of chain to get it out. That was only after myself and the homeowner had dug around all 4 tires, threw stumps and blocks of whatever we could find under the bucket and outriggers, so that it would have something solid enough under them to even attempt to lift it up, then throw more rocks under the tires. The job I was doing only took about 2 hours. Getting the tractor out took another 2 hours. Great video as always and really enjoy seeing the progression on his yard!

God has blessed me with many things, including a wonderful wife. I'm about your age, the back hurts and that section where you spoke about doing things by hand and medical intervention really hit home. I rented a mini skid steer and the work I'm doing this week would be impossible without it. However, Christy's comment about envy also hit home because some of that was creeping in these past few days. Funny how iron sharpens iron, even though I only know you guys through your videos. I thank Christy for that comment, and I also thank you guys for the verses you sometimes put in your videos. You never know how those may touch or help someone. I'm new around here, but I've seen enough to know that you are a really nice family. I'm currently working on the finance committee and did visit a few dealers last week:-)

@VeeDubJohn
@VeeDubJohn 6 лет назад
Sadly, I don't have my beetle anymore. You know, they made them just like the 60's, all the way up till 2004 in Mexico. I got one of those 2004's, it was like a brand new 1960's car. I was the first owner, however there were "issues" with having a Mexican car in the United States. Ultimately conviction won out and I did the legal thing, which was to get rid of it. My dad passed away and left me a 1966 Corvette, so I get my old car fix from that. Taking care of an old Corvette can be a lot of work though. I live in the north east, which means salt on roads which means that this poor car, having been exposed to salt back in the day now has a cracked frame. That's gonna be a process to fix! Regarding tractors, since my back isn't what it used to be and I'm still in the middle of restoring my Victorian house from 1895 with a lot of work to do on the property, I have decided to get a small tractor, once I figure out how to pay for it. It won't be a Johnny, but an LS. Do you remember when Tim went to visit that nice man with cancer? There was a blue tractor in that episode, and that's what alerted me to the LS brand. I like the color, but more importantly it is about 8K cheaper than a Deere and has more lift capacity, same engine and gets good reviews online. It's really fun watching Tim and his family get things done with the small tractor. I wish him well with his new bigger one, but I wonder if part of the appeal of his channel is that his tractor is small and he is getting things done with something that many of us non farmer types can picture ourselves doing with the same tractor. That said, it may not matter since a bigger part of the appeal is just that they are a nice family. You can tell a lot about people by how nice their kids are! Thanks for the comments, and God bless you today!

Let me tell you about hitting things with stuff you don't think about. My uncle and I were going to meet my mom in Los Banos CA and we always met part way at this hotel and cafe place. Well we pulled into the hotel entrance and sheared off my bike and bike rack that was on top of his Jeep. For whatever reason, you just forget about stuff. So the saying out of sight out of mind really does apply in these situations. The bike had a bent front wheel and the bike rack was destroyed.

Hey Tim and Christy !! Beautiful area you all worked in on this video !! I appreciate you all allowing us to tag along !!! You all work for some of the nicest folks !! I am a little concerned about placing the rip rap in the drain way ! Looks good for a while until grass and weeds grow up in it. Also will make it a little tougher to clean the spill way out later on. Just my humble opinion !! Not meaning to be cruel and pray it is taken that way !!!!! Please be safe and may God continue to bless you all !!!!! Eddy

I was working for a farmer that has about 2000 acres of corn and soybeans and i was picking up rocks with his son and putting them on a 20X8 feet steel platform wagon.Aneighbor came to ask us what we are going to do with these rocks.We said ''oh it s going in the corner of the field on a pile!''He said''i ll help you pick up and you bring them to my home so i will do a retaining wall with them'' ''No problem ''we said.So we brought him 3 wagons full of rocks and i went back one week later and the wall was finished and it was gourgeous!

Tim I think Joe likes you and would just as soon hire you for jobs as to run a tractor himself. Seems he has a lot of money considering the projects with the rip rap. I don't think Joe will be buying a tractor ever. Personally I never thought I would have a tractor. I now have one and enjoy it immensely. I know you know the feeling. The only thing different is I have a Kubota 2501. Nice video.

Very good video, If you do convince Joe to purchase a compact tractor or a subcompact I'm sure you will suggest he get one with a front end loader and a backhoe. He at least needs one with a loader. I recently bought a 2015 Yanmar with both for my 10 acres and still have my old compact with just a loader which I will put up for sale sometime but it really helped to have it over the years and now I don't think I could get along without a tractor with a backhoe. Oh yeah, thanks to your videos I bought the Yanmar which is considered a subcompact but doesn't look the part.

Thanks. That is one of the purposes of the videos. I think you get a good view of the limits of this tractor. For some that shows that it is more than adequate. For others, it shows that they need a bigger tractor. If you can clearly see that the 1-series is too small, yet you like the small frame size, then I would encourage you to jump to the 3R series.

Tim and team you touch on a topic I have been thinking might make a good video. Stability. I have the same size red brand tractor and sometimes the pucker factor gets me. I’ve been thinking of purchasing a set of hubs for the rear and maybe front wheels that will move them outbound 3 inches per wheel. So I would gain 6 inches of width in the wheels. Do you think that would help much with the pucker factor on slopes? They cost around $200 per axle. Thoughts? Thanks and I’m already looking for the next video!
@TractorTimewithTim
@TractorTimewithTim 6 лет назад
Yes, 6” would help dramatically, as would fluid and wheel weights.
@akbychoice
@akbychoice 6 лет назад
Eric Van Nostrand when you said hubs, it made me think about the bolt on winch device for off-roading. It’s a drum that bolts to the rim. With cable or strap you can then use the wheels action like a winch. While it might not be as good as a winch and can produce other issues, it could be a life ( tractor ) saver.
@akbychoice

Water ways always change with Mother Nature, the mud there is probably new sediment from the water movement. With all the money for the rock, I’m surprised he didn’t lay down weed block fabric first. Great video, that is a great property! Do you have any videos about leveling a slope as in making a road or path for a vehicle parallel with with a hillside? I plan on doing this soon to three places on my property, but come short finding any success stories/videos. I would use a rear blade, pull the soil away in slow passes, then use medium sized rocks to prevent erosion problems. Let me know if you can. Thanks!
@TractorTimewithTim
@TractorTimewithTim 6 лет назад
We worked on this type of road once. We did not build it, but we were attempting to repair erosion damage. I’m not sure that we ever published the video. I think the key is to have a good ‘ditch’ alongside the road to keep water from running over the roadway.

As I watch more and more of Tim's videos I see that there is very little wheel spin from the back wheels everytime he picks up a load with the bucket even when he gives it a few revs. The tyres seem to be the same. When I pick up a load, my wheels want to spin like crazy even when I feather the bucket so it doesn't dig in. Are you running lower air pressure in the rear tyres Tim? I'm not able to get a tooth bar in Australia unless it's welded to the bucket so that is one difference. I have this issue even when picking up bulk mulch delivered by truck. Maybe it's just my grass?

@ClissaT
@ClissaT 6 лет назад
Lol I've got a little organic ballast myself! But thanks for the tip re water. I do think they already have some water in them because they spluttered when i checked air pressure. I forgot to drive along to rotate the valves to top. So the difference must be the extra weights.

Be sure to use rv antifreeze, windshield washer fluid, or RimGuard. Plain water will freeze.

My ditch stays wet and is very steep. I use the loader to get out every time. Although one time when I picked the loader up to get another grab the tractor just slid back down. So it took a truck to pull it out

Yep, anything can get stuck....friend of mine who was a seabee and could run a CAT loader to amaze you got stuck....another friend got his dozer stuck.....I have been stuck with tractor which had a loader and had to be pulled out...things happen and it only takes a split second....moral to those who make such comments is Never say Never.

I've seen tracked vehicles get stuck so it's not uncommon. The challenge is to figure out how to get unstuck, which does take knowledge and skill.

Hi Tim. I’m really enjoying your videos. Did you make a video of the stream rehab? I can’t find it with keyword searches. If so can you post a link? I have a seasonal creek I’d love to get looking as good as your customers

Why i like large tractors. The small are nice, but i wouldnt trade my Mahindra 4535 for anything. Its done just about everything we asked. As for moving a brick pallet, not so much. Then again, i only have clamp on forks, so what do you honestly want? Works great for logs or picking trash out of weird places. Do need a stronger bucket. between 3 different operators, 2 owners, and 250 hours its trashed. Bowed upwards from ground preassure and bent down in the middle. Didnt help brush got caught in the canapy smacking. Also grabbed the steering wheel and put me up agree. Ag tires dug 5inches in a few seconds and stalled. I put it into nuetral grabbed he tire and rolled it back as the PTO bound up with the thick grass.. Amazing how a 7500lbs tractor rolled 4ft so easily by hand. I only have 1 leg with strength to do it as my other clutch leg replaced bone with rods and moved muscles too weak to do anything if the sort.

How long would it take to remove the tooth bar on bucket ? This job dident need it, but most do. Just wondering if it comes off easy. I have larger jd with out teeth but removable cutting edge
@TractorTimewithTim
@TractorTimewithTim 6 лет назад
Takes about a minute. I install/remove it quite frequently. Set screws on the top ‘clamp’ it to the bucket.

Tractor Time with Tim You chose the teeth over the edge protectors. Was that to get closer to the soil? By the way, nice skill with the teeth. You have got me hooked on the teeth. Already got the edge protectors. Heavy hitch is on the wish list. What’s the cheapest source for the suitcase weights?
@TractorTimewithTim
@TractorTimewithTim 6 лет назад
Lots of q’s. Honestly didn’t think about the edge tamers. Didn’t know I would be picking up rocks off grass when I left the house Cheapest place for weights is heavyhitch.com with TTWT code and their efficient shipping.

I really enjoy your videos. In your later videos I've seen you use a Stihl Kombi unit. Stihl makes a sweeper attachment that works well for sweeping rocks off of grass. It might be an idea to bring that stihl along for jobs like this one.
