A Parisian apartment with that view would cost an arm and a leg, no matter what the size is. Many Parisian apartments are in fact that small (between 9 and 20 square meters) with awfully expensive rents, which is why all those who can manage it, try the suburbs instead but it's not much better. The ones with views are often the smallest as they are frequently made out of remodelled maid rooms from back in the day when the buildings were mostly used as mansions for a single household each (before the French revolution). The ones that remained big/bigger are in the expensive neighborhoods where folks didn't rush to sell/remodel as early as the rest...
In human scale the livable area for this micro apartment is 6 feet by 7 feet, only 42 square feet. Are NY apartments really that small? Sort of reminds me of the Fifth Element movie and Bruce Willis's place, but his bed pulled out and shower changed to refrigerator
As usual your tiny apartment is beautiful. I made a couple of apartments also using foam board. They turned out cute- totally decorated diferently (one is French inspired and the other is British inspired). Thanks for showing me how to do it. Happy New Year!

I love this little Studio Apt.!!! I think it would be great to make the bed a daybed during the day and a sleeping bed by night. I love your daughter's artwork too. You are both so talented! That apartment turned out really nice! I once lived in a tiny apartment like that with a dripping tap. Yikes! After that experience I think I can train my brain to sleep through anything.

Livable area is 14 X 12 inches, which translates to 7 feet by 6 feet in human terms at 1:6 scale. A cell on Alcatraz is 8 X 6. Are NY apartments only 42 square feet? A loft bed would make sense here

I rented an appartment in Paris, a decade ago. The shower was next to the kitchen countertop, a little wall separated the two, but it was one big room. Paris is an old and expensive city, so some people "cut" appartements to rent it to different people at a more expensive price. It's sad to see that heritage go, just for greed. That one is very nice in comparison to the one I was in.
I love the little apartment. I'd like to recreate it, only I'd have a cat as a companion. I can Imagine one sitting or lying on the bed looking out the window. 🙂

Agreed. If you think _This_ is saddening, you should see the "how to" video for the "capsule hotel" (inspired from Japan's RL city landscape)! 😲... A few fans had been asking Toya to design a hotel for their dolls; and I was thinking something along the lines of two small bedrooms with beds, TV sets and clothes closets (along with whatever else they could fit in the decor); and a small "check-in" desk in a tiny adjoining office hallway, etc... I didn't see _that_ coming, either! 😞 But of course, the question is how to design things for the dolls when storage space (unlike Froggy's own) is at a super-premium for most families; plus many Moms (based on Mattel online review comments) just want the stuff "put away" and "out-of-sight" whenever not actively being used. 😞 [Oops, sorry, I have issues back from when I was a little kid; and my big (teenage) sis would just *~throw~* my doll dioramas-which I had taken considerable time to set up neatly in (what I _thought_ was) _my_ side of our room- _UPSIDE DOWN_ (and spilling any old which way) into the toybox! 😡 "Well, you didn't put your things _awaaaaay_ !" she'd complain. Looking back, I suspect it was mostly jealousy b/c she hardly had any Barbie stuff at all when she was little. 🧟♀🤢 Not my fault, when we had different dads; and I wasn't even born then, y'know? 🤷♀] But, I digress. I found your comment both enlightening and relevant. It has both political and spiritual implications; which I don't expect most folks here could appreciate, sadly. But, I think most kids can do without a play "litterbox" or cat tree for the Barbie kitten; or a separate bed for the dog and her pups, etc. (along with the extra room those would require), since they're just pretending. Considering that most of the apartment dioramas are only designed for one [doll], I'd think that (translating RL to some large urbanscape like NYC or Paris), they'd ironically take up less overall space (combined) to (comfortably, if not extravagantly) house a family of five. However, most people aren't into marriage and family anymore; which I think we'll be seeing more and more as time goes on. Due to various reasons, it'll be pretty much "DINKS" from here on out.

Loved the mini apartment! Just going off to the side of the road, I went to a Dollar General store and found some doll clothes I think you should look into if there's any where you live. My area got one on every corner! See what you think of the clothes. I believe they're listed at 3.00. Could be lower since its after Xmas.
The pocket allows me to shine light through the window… (I think light is so important in mini spaces and photography … however, you can totally modify it to your style ❤️

Dear Toya, 1.I can’t find the 2022 calendar 😔 under Your free print outs?!? 2. Did You make a miniature planner for 2022 yet? My mother in law (who lives next door) has a color printer 🖨 at home now 🤩. Only problem is that the stuff I sent her to print came out tiny even though it says 12 inch dolls, 1/4 of the page so I suppose I will have to change her settings and try to print it myself. I need your make up series, two more windows with shutters, the fireplace and windows, inside doors and the bottom 1/2 of Your front door 🚪 (just have to cover the wreath with a neutral one or Valentine’s one). I am making the front diorama of my mini family’s house and bedrooms for all of my girls’ Rainbow High dolls (about 10 minimum 😩) using the cube type piece of furniture used for cloth boxes, like the IKEA one you have but much smaller. I will need to Make bunk beds to get it to work. I wish You lived next door!!!
