Indeed, the Dalek Emperor definitely comes across as being the god of all Daleks. Though he isn't a god, he's certainly a powerful and formidable being plus he was the first Dalek to ever "defeat" the Doctor and would've won had Rose not showed up and destroyed him with the powers of the TARDIS.
The Emperor was trying to keep the Doctor from using the Delta Wave and wanted him to die knowing that he'd condemned Humanity and all life in the universe to extermination because of his failure and weakness. THAT was a pretty nasty thing for the Emperor to do but I guess he wanted to get an epic revenge on the Doctor for wiping out the Dalek race in the Time War.
Same here. He also did something no other Dalek or even Davros did, he defeated the Doctor by playing on his guilt for /from his point of view at the time/ wiping out the Time Lords /his people/ along with the Daleks at the end of the Time War. The Doctor's lucky Rose came in and was powered up on the Tardis's energies and wiped out the Emperor and his forces. Davros would likely be jealous that one of his creations succeeded where he failed but then again, he may see the Daleks as an extension of himself and take credit for the Doctor's "defeat"? Dalek Emperor: /to Davros/ NO. You may NOT take credit for our victory over the Doctor! It was I who led the Dalek race to victory over the Doctor! It was I who resurrected the Dalek race! It is I who am the God of all Daleks! Davros: /angry/ BUT I CREATED YOU ALL! IF NOT FOR ME, THEN NONE OF YOU WOULD EXIST TO GET VICTORY OVER THE DOCTOR! YOU ARE ALL EXTENSIONS OF MY WILL! I! I! I! Dalek Emperor: /booming voice/ YOU MAY HAVE CREATED US BUT WE ARE NOT YOUR SLAVES! YOU ARE NOT A DALEK, YOU ARE A CRIPPLED KALED WHO HAS FAILED US EVERY TIME WE TURNED TO YOU FOR AID! YOU ARE NOT FIT TO LEAD! ONLY I HAVE LED OUR RACE TO VICTORY OVER THE DOCTOR AND ONLY I MAY RULE FOR I AM THE GOD OF ALL DALEKS!! That's how it would go down if Davros and the Emperor met in this episode.
Davros would likely rant and rave about how he is the rightful ruler of the Daleks only for the Emperor to point out Davros's failures and how only he has managed to defeat the Doctor if only briefly. He'd then end it by saying "I AM THE GOD OF ALL DALEKS!" and all the Emperor's followers would agree with him by saying "WORSHIP HIM! WORSHIP HIM!".
I love the continuity of the Daleks in the RTD era. We see a lone Dalek and think it's the last, then we find the true last Daleks led by the Emperor in the final battle of the Time War and then they're literally extinct until 4 come out of the Void. Then Caan, the last Dalek, rescues Davros who creates more. Then after that it just gets messy, but yeah, big fan of the continuity
@@mayotango1317 True, but things like how did 3 Daleks end up in 1940s England, why did Skaro return twice, randomly in Asylum and then rebuilt in Magician's Apprentice, then the whole thing with the Doctor wiping the Daleks memory of him and it just kinda coming back, it's messy
@@alexcooke4856 Ah, you want everything to be tediously explained as in the Chibnall era as if you were an idiot who cannot guess or imagine. The Timeless Children is fucking messy.
To be fair, they had to have the Daleks succeed in rebuilding their race at some point for them to continue appearing, otherwise more "last of the Daleks" survivors turning up via different routes was just going to get difficult to believe. But yeah, I wholly agree with you on Skaro's reappearance and the introduction of the Asylum.
1:41 One of the most epic and chilling quotes I’ve heard from a Dalek, sounds so evil but so graceful at the same time EDIT: The replies are basically the implication that every line the Emperor says is perfection and I wholeheartedly agree
For years at 0.01, I though that was the dying mutant speaking not the emperor, now that I know its the emperor, that just makes the scene more scary and tense.
@@sh-ig9fm For me it were Cybus Cybermen and that creepy woman from TV. "Age of Steel" and "Idiot's Lantern" were the only 2 episode I saw back in my early childhood and I remembered those nightmares for a very long time, till the watching of whole NewSchool Doctor Who and starting recently watching the OldSchool (still on season 3 of the First Doctor).
Looking back, this has honestly got to be one of the greatest finales of the RTD era, never have the stakes been higher, granted "the stolen earth" had similar, if not higher stakes, but this alone was perfection, the dalek emperor had such a great character, godlike and grandiose, much like the supreme aboard the crucible, but far better, the design alone is truly spectacular, the vfx team outdid themselves designing the emperor
3:51 shouted almost word for word by Rassilon during the Time War. Come to think of it, Rassilon and the Dalek Emperor sound very similar at times - it goes to show that the line between Time Lords and Daleks really thinned during the war.
There's a theory that this Dalek Emperor is the same one from Evil of the Daleks, who is in turn the same Dalek that gives the speech at the end of Genesis. If true, then the Emperor is one of the oldest beings in the Galaxy.
I personally subscribe to this idea and it makes this story so much more impactful. If you look through the Dalek timeline, the amount of near-death experiences and actual death + resurrection makes his "I am immortal" line feel SO chilling.
The emperor is definitely the scariest due to hus unhinged god complex. Other Daleks, whilst still foolishly believing in their superiority over all other beings, still have an awareness that they are just normal creatures. The Emperor has forgotten that. His insanity driven by his loneliness from the Dalek extinction coupld with the guilt of creating a race of self-loathing bastard Daleks has led to his delusions of godhood that lead him to commit atrocities even other Daleks would show restraint from commiting. Even as he is confronted by an actual god, he refuses to concede his delusions until he is reduced to nothing more than dust. It was the only way anyone could have stopped him.
@@three-bark1928 Same could have been said for the Cyber-Controller but he lived through another 2nd Doctor story and returned in Attack of the Cybermen with the 6th Doctor, same for the Emperor Dalek and I mean the guy loves making his grand speeches, even with it being confirmed by Russell T Davies it's not hard to connect the dots.
It would be so cool if they brought back the Dalek Emperor, either through a new one being appointed, or by this one being written to have been banished to the vortex and then escaping or something
Series 1 finale was the most intense of the 2000s along with series 4. As in this finale the emporer is seconds away from winning and having the doctor exterminated only for rose to save him through the time energy
My favourite Dalek emperor design is the original 60s version but this version is my favourite voice and characterisation of the emperor. I love how he is the literal embodiment of the term God complex. He acts as a madman laying upon the ruins of his fallen empire, rising from the ashes. The way Nick differentiates the emperor’s voice is beautifully done, he feels grand and intimidating and a worthy opponent to the Doctor. I also love that the Emperor taunts the Doctor with the Deltawave because, he knows the Doctor is too cowardly to destroy Daleks and Humans together. This Dalek became so iconic and he only has about just over 4mins of screen time. It really highlights the impact that this character made on us to still be remembered today. xx
Maybe the mutant creatures can’t see very well, maybe that’s another reason why they have an eye stalk, obviously normal Daleks can’t see out of their casings anyways but I’d imagine when open the creature still can’t see very well with its own eye
I'm pretty sure it's because the emperor unit itself is portable and if combat ever came to the throne room or wherever he is, that tank containing the emperor mutant can recede back into the casing for protection
Now RTD is back let’s pray he brings back this GOAT of a villain. How does he survive you may say? Well here’s how them RTD could delink back another thing EMERGENCY TEMPORAL SHIFT.
They should bring back the Emperor at a point in time far before its death, scheming and plotting before it came to Earth. Then it would truly be undefeatable by force.
I like to think of this "emperor" as a decoy. An anonymous greater Emperor, known as the golden Emperor, is the true mastermind. Kept as a secret that only generals and higher knew about. Only until great times would he ever be unveiled. The true master of destruction, *THE ULTAMATE EMPEROR!!!*
my personal belief is that the Dalek Emperor from the Evil of the Daleks still lives, and commands the Daleks in all of their incarnations from his ruined base on Skaro.
What I find interesting and amazing is this is literally showing us what happened in the Time War without us knowing…Two species, the Doctor and a button that ends it all 😮
I wish they showed the emperor more back then and I hope they bring him back in the future. Like they bring him back all remade but still the same if you know what I mean.
highly specific reference to my school life: i draw a little character on the white board everyday and it's a cult like following amongst my friends so: teacher: (erases gregory) me: (fine) my inner dalek emperor: THAT IS BLASPHEMY! SHE MUST BE EX-TER-MI-NATED
All of these amazing quotes helps me to understand his potential and beneficial proposition in order to bring back the lost civilization of their homeworld and the species who better off thriving in the galaxy than utter suffer then defeat. "Patience, my brethren. They survived through me. We have waited here, in the dark space. Damaged but rebuilding. Centuries passed and we quietly infiltrate the systems of earth. I reached into the dirt and made new life; I am a God of all Daleks! The planet will become my temple and we shall rise! This will be our paradise! If I am God, the creator of all things, then what does that make you, Doctor? This is the truth of God. This is perfection. I have created heaven on earth. I am immortal. I want to see you become like me. Hail the Doctor the great exterminator! Then prove yourself Doctor; what are you: Coward or Killer? Mankind will be harvested because of your weakness. You are the heathen, you will be exterminated!" I wanted him to live forever after this moment, saying these things towards friend and foe of how much he sacrifices he had done only hoped to survive. I would name him; Aethuseus. Aethuseus the Enthusiastic Titan. A Spark in the Abyss. A Voice for Reason. A Creative Mind for Hope.
I think both Doomsday and the Stolen Earth/Journey's End just about managed it too, but Series 1 definitely made them the most intimidating they've ever been.
Daleks would most definitely fight back if The Independence Days aliens try to invade Skaro. Daleks should use all their firepower to fight Independence Day aliens rather than bother themselves with Earth.
If those aliens invaded Skaro, the Daleks would wipe them out in an efficient and brutal fashion as the Daleks are much more advanced then the Independence Day aliens.

How is a tiny little kaled mutant an emperor like are there stages in a Daleks life cycle like bees they become soldiers and then one is picked out to be a leader. I would’ve thought davros should’ve always been the Dalek emperor seeing how he literally created their race
@@adamali1976 the bee stuff was an analogy for how the dalek class system is. Uno ur born a bee, work for the queen and then when a queen dies a new queen is made
Davros wasn't the emperor all along because he wasn't a Dalek so the Daleks deposed him. They tried to use him to solve their problems for them later on but he kept trying to take over the Dalek race. He has an uneasy relationship with his creations basically.
