This was how we did our walk if it helps anyone Day 1 Ilkley to Appletreewick staying at masons campsite £10 pp 12 miles. Day 2 Buckden staying at Buckden camping Heber farm £8 pp 16 miles. Day 3 Cowgill Ewegales farm (very basic) £7 pp 18 miles better to stay at Dent if you can manage another 2.5 miles. day 4 Sedbergh Lincolns Inn Farm camping £12 pp worth every penny 12 miles. Day 5 Burneside Sprint mill camping £5 pp 13 miles. Day 6 10 miles to the finish. Buckden, Lincolns bridge, and sprint mill had kettles you could use to save on gas. I'm happy to answer any questions if I can.

Hi there - nice video - I laughed at your son with his headphones on/ looking at his phone all the time ( I have a female version like that ) ;) Anyway, I wondered where was the house with all the weird jars in ? I hope to do the walk in a couple of months and would like to check it out as I love oddities. Thanks !

I know teenagers now a days need to be plugged into something, he really does enjoy the walks as he’s done 4 now. I can’t quite remember the name but you do walk past it on the walk although on the opposite side of the river , they do or did have a sign up pointing the way close by. I’ll have a look when I get back home as I’m away at the moment. Thanks for watching and commenting. All the best Darren

It’s called Sprint mill just before you get to the village/Town of Burnside. It is marked on the OS maps

Booked to walk the Dale Highway next year - Saltaire to Applyby - about 100 mile, mainly on the tops rather than by the rivers. Enjoyed this adventure. ATB

Nice video, thanks for sharing. I walked it last year so it was nice to reminisce. I would agree, push on to Dent rather than ewegales. Couple of quid more for the site, but very clean, plenty of showers and the Sun Inn is a great pub. But it is a long day from Buckden to Dent. Nice to see the ‘dad and lad’ time as well. ATB.

Enjoyed your video Daz. I’m thinking of doing it in September. I’m also going to camp so I found it very helpful. Could you please give a list of the sites that you used and the distance between. Thanks Steve

Its a very nice walk probably not as good as the Cumbria way but it is easier. I’m hoping to get the WHW done at some point, maybe next year.

Only the national trust one at Buckden all the others said they’d make room for walkers doing the Dales way
