@ Kelly Werre Warner Brothers cut 25 minutes out before they offered it to CBS network, CBS then cut additional 11 minutes, grand total 36 minutes gone.
@@ziloj-perezivat The uncut movie was on RU-vid, but I see it now missing, keep checking every 6 to 9 months it could resurface. 2/28/1972 it aired heavy edited on CBS Late Movie it caused such a uproar many local CBS stations didn't carry the movie. I was in 12th grade @ the time I slipped into the den & cut the tv on but @ last minute local CBS station chicken out didn't show it. On 2/28/2011 39 years later I watched it on NetFlix, then last year I watched it again on RU-vid.
Who shall forget Dirk Bogarde surrounded by Hitler Youth dressed not in brown but in suspender belts. Wir wollen weiter marschieren.Visconti had a fruitful imagination.
I nocited that too. Helmut Griem who plays the SS guy the bribes Helmut Berger's character to sell out his family, is also in Cabaret. I love the fact this movie has nice looking German men both naked or clothed, and Visconti always put delicious male eye candy in all of his films.
Watch Death in Venice ! He went to the other extreme - shots that lingered....and lingered....and... several hours passed and you opened your eyes to discover that you were still looking at the same shot : normally a C U of Tadzio .
Decent movie. Probably best known for portraying the utter depravity of Nazi Fascism, the cinematography and acting is solid. Unfortunately the main character, Martin, is the least likeable character in the entire film. Although I suppose that is the point, the worst person is the one who eventually rises to power. Just made for an uncomfortable watch. I enjoyed other anti Fascist films more particularly Night Porter and the Conformist.
Damned nazy art movies ! they're really shit but you have to watch one till the end to see that in the end shit is all those times were 😥 but what can you do maybe it's just Art
