The Dance- Tom Bridegroom and Shane Bitney Crone 

I lost my partner, six years ago in 2010 ... we first met in June 1966 .. six months later we moved in together and have been together for 44 happy, loving, glorious years ... he die suddenly, in 24 hours all was over, and I found myself alone and in distress ... eventhough it is 6 years now since he "departed" I feel like he's still around ... I still love him to pieces ... and I want only one thing, and that is to be with him again, when my time comes ... May God hear my prayer !

I watched the movie last night. Shane I salute you for the way you handled the injustice from Tom's family. That makes you exceptional and I am sure that is why Tom LOVED you so much. Your Mom and Dad, what wonderful people for standing with you and Tom, and all your friends. I hope there love wipes out any little thought of the sad treatment from Tom's family. I wish you the BEST in all you do.

Shane and Tom, you were the reason I came out publicly on the date me and my partner celebrated 20 years together especially to my family that was still treating us as mere friends. Your love story made me become another lgbt warrior. Love 😍 you guys.

Crying , crying , crying! You had something that many people may never find......true , true love for each other. Your time on this earth is miniscule , but you guys did your work in that short time in teaching humanity about true love. Your legacy is so powerful and it will change the world for better......don't ever forget that. And to you Shane, you will most certainly be reunited with Tom one day.......the human heart and love like that is too powerful for me not to have faith in that....don't ever give up on that and in the meantime honour Tom in everything you may do. xxx

The movie of Tom and Shane was the most moving story I have ever seen, I really hope their story will educate people on love and have them realise that all love is the same and any bigoted person out their that spouts abuse and homaphobia while hiding behind the bible really need to read the bible because a real Christian will love unconditionally and without prejudice. I can't believe that in this day and age people still don't have equal rights, I was proud to vote yes here in Ireland for marriage equality. LOVE ALL JUDGE NONE XXX rip Tom, Shane you should be so proud of yourself you showed amazing strength in the face of preduduce and I know Tom will be looking down on you smiling .

Love this video and the music The Dance by Garth Brooks is amazing, I have seen the documentary 16 times and every time tears comes down my face, i know what Shane went through caused i went through the same thing and i know Nelson is in a better place watching over me, that was my 1st love and you still are, Nelson ( RIP) ,LOVE YOU ALWAYS.

I have just watched the film on Netflix and I thank you for your beautiful, fair, heartbreaking and charming movie. I am turning 60 years this year and I so proud that my beautiful daughter will marry her love Julie, because the people of Ireland voted and passed the referendum allowing same secx marriage. Haing been brought up in a catholic country where Christs love was preached but not lived and Church rule dominated and abused Irish citizens, up until now. I am so happy knowing that my daughter and other loving same sex couples have the same rights as all loving couple. Love is the only way.

just lost my partner 0n the 7th October 2016 after 26 years together he went into hospital for carpal tunnel in his hand and died while in their my heart is breaking, I can't stop crying and I never thought this would happen the only thing that's helping me is the courage Shane has shown in his strength and courage, I just hope I can be that strong :'(

the other tragedy besides losing Tom was how his parents reacted to his coming out and how they treated Shane after tom's death. People, love your children unconditionally however God made them!

This movie touched me so deeply; and taught me such a valuable lesson, that life is not only short, but to value each day; and to live each of them fully. Since seeing this movie, I look at my boyfriend differently, and after 9 years I will be asking him to marry me. So thank you both Tom & Shane for teaching me no to sweat the small stuff to appreciate the beauty in each day.

I have known that my youngest son was gay since he was about 8 maybe 9 yrs old This child was a extremely angry pre teen and even angrier teenager I pushed and pushed for him to “come out “ He refused for many many years And one day I believe he was 17 he just blurted out to me that he was gay although I knew I had a hard time wrapping my mind around it only because he had an denied it for so long and I knew his life was just going to be harder I am so wrong this kid is one of the happiest self-sufficient confident emotionally Secure people I have the pleasure of knowing I couldn’t be prouder to call this young man my son they will come out when they are ready I learned you cannot push I have never seen him more happier actually that’s all we want for our children or at least that’s all I want of coarse Success along with happiness He is in a non toxic wonderful loving respectful relationship How many of us actually get to say that? I just watched the movie and so many feels that I felt from the beginning and the middle and the end. It's really heartbreaking to see how Tom's family just acted as if his partner didn't even exist. And how could they be so cold and insensitive when this young man was in love and it shouldn't matter if it's with a man, he was truly happy and full of laughter and a beautiful smile and a heart to match. May this story opens the eyes to the close minded people and accept people for who they are and not judge them on who they love because if anything love is the best feeling you can ever have and especially when you have the opportunity to share it with someone.

I lost an important partner in a traffic accident four years ago . We met at the time of the college student , and spent together for 15 years .... I 'm not able to forget him even now . Because he was the same as the real family for me. Sometime,we have a fight a lot . But I love him...even now. However , he was gone from me . We were eager to get married in the future . That he is not here anymore. I wanted to spend a happy time with you more and more . And we also wanted to hold the hand in the same way as men and women couple in public. I can understand painfully his sad feelings...

The Bridegroom family are not real Christians, just treat your son like crap after coming out to you. If I ever get children, I don't care if they're gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, etc. They are my children and I love them no matter how different they are. Each one of you guys have things in your lives that would make you different. What does it matter what their life style is? They still are making their choices for their life, what is wrong with them for being gay? You people need to start getting it over this stuff.

Tap. This did not have to end this way: I believe Tom's death could have and should have been prevented. Please, please I beg, wake up all the parents who are killing their children. They could (you still can if you really love them) have prevented this from happening; if Tom's parents had just loved him unconditionally, and that means, they should have accepted and supported them both. However, it is not too late to change, for the parents out there who similarly hold those same odious views, that Tom's parents have... and choose to shun and reject their children; because; (of their sexual orientation) they are gay, lesbian, bi, etc. Shame on you all.
