The Danger of Gossip in the Church - Bill Johnson Full Sermon | Bethel Church 

Dear Pastor Bill. I realized that when Jesus took away my desire for gossip, I was no longer interesting to my friends, even brothers and sisters in faith. They became fewer relatively quickly. And when you only talk about Jesus because the Spirit in us wants you to, they have become so few that maybe only 1 or 2 are left. But even when I am all alone, I have Jesus and with Him I have everything I need. God's blessing and LG🙏🙌🙏

Praise the Lord. I run as far away from slander & gossip. Therefore I barely have friends and that’s ok.

"Gossip perverts the beauty and the power of the word of the tongue ".

“Words host presence.” Jesus said His words were Spirit. Wow. Be careful, little mouth, what you say.

There should be less laughter, and greater repentance and sorrow for what's been destroying relationships, communities, and Christian testimonies! Our hearts should be grieving deeply over what gossip has done amongst God's people. O God, deliver us from the kingdom of darkness where this evil communication breeds, and festers!

This pastor I knew is still weight in the balance and I pray for him and the church he talks at 😢 he says I do it for GOD not you I wonder which GOD do they listen to. My GOD blesses HIS children , and helps HIS children no matter what is said or done. Practice godliness and

I had to text a friend and repent for a "prayer request" for a former classmate. Conviction came, repentance followed and refreshing was the result! I renounce gossip in all forms today!! Thank you, Bill, for this awesome meessage!!

A really good word❣️ A fly in the perfume is such a good picture of gossip and all its relatives, which at the time can seem like such a little thing, yet it contaminates our beautiful fragrance of Christ to the world, ourselves, and the Father. Gossip is so dangerous because you can ruin someone's testimony who may be trying to lead someone to Christ. If they hear something bad about you, they will not want to listen to you. I feel like The Lord will hold the Gossip accountable for the person not getting saved.

I never take gossip seriously or within my spirit for GODS blessings are removed and kills the spirit not to allow the holy spirit to move freely but that person taking in lies are useless to GOD and grieves the spirit that person can’t be used for GOD they become as empty glass unable to get filled. Too much baggage of filth

But I genuinely want to know the line where it becomes whistle blowing or when it’s processing an injustice or something you are angry about with a trusted friend, not because you’re trying to make them involved, but because you are genuinely unsure of what to say or how to handle it. Consistent Church abuse makes this line so unclear to me as I’ve been told that I’m gossiping when I’m actually questioning whether or not I’m being abused.

Without wanting to gossip...."if" and how do one go about warning someone else who might be in the process of being manipulated or lied to by someone who you have been hurt by as well? Like knowing, certain, someone is busy stealing and cheating? Is one just to not say a word and let the person in the "wrong" who claims to be a Christian, just carry on? I tried to warn someone merely by stating certain facts and was accused of gossiping, but now that person is being stolen from and cheated by the same person. Do I just carry on blindly and let one after the other fall for this person's schemes? All in good faith?

Kinda like animosity needs some kind of jjstification to become 'a truth' in your head when its really not your right to judge.

Why adds every few minutes?

Many people solely base their Salvation on what Jesus said in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life." But Jesus was not finished speaking yet. Later after He rose from the dead and just before He ascended into heaven He said in Mark 16:16,"He that believes and is BAPTIZED shall be Saved, but he that believes not shall be damned." At about that same time He said in Matthew 28:19,"Go therefore and teach all nations, BAPTIZING them in the name (SINGULAR name and not names) OF the Father, and OF the Son, and OF the Holy Ghost." Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are titles and not names. Jesus disciples never used those words when they baptized anyone in water, nor did they use those words in one sentence regarding any other topic. Every time Jesus disciples baptized anyone in water they invoked Jesus name at baptism which is Acts 2:38, Acts 8:14-18, Acts 8:38, Acts 9:18, Acts 10:44-48, Acts 16:15, Acts 16:33, Acts 18:7, Acts 18:8, Acts 19:3-5, and Acts 22:16 (Paul's baptism). Peter said in Acts 4:12,"Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other NAME under heaven given among men, whereby we must be SAVED." Paul said in Colossians 3:17,"And whatsoever you do in word or deed, do ALL in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by HIM." Paul said in Colossians 2:8-10,"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwells ALL the fullness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And you are COMPLETE in him, which is the head of all principality and power." Also verse 12, "BURIED with him in BAPTISM, wherein also you are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who has raised him from the dead." The book of Acts is the most important book in the New Testament because all of it is what Jesus and his disciples said what we must do to be Saved, which is what Jesus meant in John 3:3-7, "Verily, verily I say unto you, Except a man be born again, he can not enter into the kingdom of God. 5 Verily, verily I say unto you, Except a man be born of water AND the of Spirit, he can not enter into the kingdom of God. 7 Marvel not that I say unto you, YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN." Being born of water is being baptized in water in Jesus name - which is for the Remission of Sins (Acts 2:38). Being born of the Spirit is being baptized with the Holy Ghost - which is addressed in Mark 16:17 (Jesus speaking) Acts 2:4 (Pentecost), Acts 8:17, Acts 9:18, Acts 10:44-48, and Acts 19:3-5. Nowhere in Scripture does it say it happens any other way than that way. There is not one Scripture that says a person receives the Holy Ghost just because they are a believer. Acts 19:2-5 is a good example. Some say the thief on the Cross next to Jesus was not baptized in Jesus Name but Jesus was not finished speaking yet. He did not give the COMMANDMENT to be Baptized in His Name until after He rose from the dead and just before He ascended into heaven, therefore the thief could not do it because he did not know about it. If you are convinced you need to get Baptized in water in Jesus Name, do a search, type in "United Pentecostal Church International", scroll down to just below the red box, type in your zip code, a screen will show a Church near you that will do that. If you do the above you will be making SURE your name is written in Lamb's Book Of Life. Jesus said in John 10:27,"My Sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me."

I had to leave this witchcraft gossiping church my salvations and blessings was at stack that pastor wanted to please the flesh more than do GODS work. Pray 🙏 for misguided ministers they’re blinded to truth and wants strokes from everyone or they hurt the good believers very wicked

I didn’t watch the video because I have no interest in hearing what I’ve experienced, gossip is the what Judas Iscariot was to Jesus today in every church. Gossip in church actually prepares you for gossip at the workplace office or any workplace for that matter. To those who know the scriptures Jesus said: be meek like doves but astute as serpents, it’s unavoidable. People are garbage, growing up in the church prepares you for what a crappy world you’re about to head in to.
