I’m running to the nearest exit if a boundary is crossed and/or if standards aren’t met. I did not have that confidence in my 20s so age is far more than a number.

I’m so glad this is talked about! I’ve been in two DV relationships! When I was 19 then the second I was with him for 7 years the 5th year of dating is when the beatings started I was growing as a woman and becoming established. Now at 34 I’m trying to fix my life after he destroyed me. Left him a year ago with nothing but my life. It’s been a struggle with life and getting back out in the world! These men don’t want you to be successful either!

Life is hard. So many of our parents struggled and told themselves that golden lie they would do anything to protect their child. Truth… too many parents out their quick to sell or turn a blind eye to the well-being of their children for convenience. Sketchy baby sitter, ignore we need child care. Letting uncle ask our kid to sit on their lap and not saying anything because you don’t want to rock the boat. Having family doing and onto questionable stuff, but hey yeah they can come over when our young impressionable kids are around. This world has way too many ppl covering up for their ahotty friends and family.

I had this issue. Our infant was going to a sitter around the corner who had an in home daycare, which my mother knew her from their hometown and i went to school with her daughter so all was well with that. She married a man a few years ago which no disrespect but he just looked like he had nothing going on with himself and she is in her late 40s and probably just wanted to settle down with someone … so you know how that goes… anyways around the time he happened to be around the house a lot during the daycare hours which made me feel a little weird about that because I’m thinking why is a 40-50 something yr old man not working during business hours and around his wife’s children at her daycare. I mentioned it to my then boyfriend/ daughters father he brushed it off like naw he doesn’t see anything wrong with it. So I kept letting her go there then my mother said something along the lines that made me realize that I need to take a closer look into this man the sitter married, which I don’t think she knew anything much about him either but she just was saying how she didn’t like my baby going over there when the sitter “just married this man.” I started digging and doing my research on him and found mugshots on him being arrested several times up until a few yrs ago for public intoxication type charges, so he’s an alcoholic and he looked like a complete lunatic in his mug shots, then around that same time the baby sitter is going to send me a text saying “ she has Monday morning appointments and that her husband will be watching the kids until she returns for her appointment on Mondays.” I bet you my baby never went back to that sitter. I have no issue with the woman, but yeah no! And when I told my ex boyfriend / my daughters dad about my findings about the husband he basically told me that men have this understanding with one another and that the sitter’s husband will never hurt our daughter because he makes eye contact with him whenever he would go pick up our daughter from their house and he claims when men make eye contact it’s a never of respect. In other words he saw no issue with it because the sitter was charging us 60 cheaper than what we was paying at an actual daycare center, mind you HIS MOTHER / our baby’s grandmother worked at the very day care, in the baby classroom where our child was originally going to but he didn’t want her going there because the sitter in the neighborhood was $175 and the daycare was $235. These low value dudes will turn a blind eye regarding the well being of their children for the love of money. 🙄🙄🙄

I’m so glad she is talking about this when these men on this podcast say this type of thing as a woman in my 40s it always rubbed me the wrong way because I know and remember what it was like being a 19, 20,21, hell 25 year old and knowing mentally I was no match for a 30,35 or 40 year old but then I would look at my friends that did go to out with the older guys and at first it seemed good but then came all the hurt and pain they went through, and it just always stood out to me. I remember my best friend was 15 and this guy 25 was talking to her. I remember her trying to take her life over this man and crying almost every night over him but the crazy thing is once we got like 24-25 when she looked back at him all she saw was a loser cause I saw he was still trying to look in young girls face still never fully got himself together but when you’re that young you don’t know what an adult is supposed to have and be doing for themselves but once you become an adult the little bit of stuff he is throwing in your face ain’t shit and you realize it’s not even a bare minimum it’s not even basic it’s nothing I don’t know like I said, it always just stood out to me

Yes Kita! I did not even acknowledge that I was in a DV relationship because I defended myself and it only happened when he wasn’t sober. I think more people are in DV relationships than realize and in some cases, maybe they threw the first hit but the reality is if you hit someone or get hit, the relationship needs to end. The relationship is not healthy and won’t be until both people heal individually.

I forget where I saw or heard this but Kita hits on it. Sometimes the abuser was at one point in his or her life was the victim. I have also heard the “why are they going back so far. It’s done and over let it go”. Victims are made to feel like they have nothing and that no one will believe them. We talk a lot about men doing this to girls/women but there are women who are the same way. I am genuinely angry with things like RU-vid who say that certain words are offensive. They are putting it out there that saying you were AS is wrong. It’s hard enough to get victims to speak up and not we have platforms saying that it’s offensive to say those words. You can’t fully heal without putting light to all the darkness.

RU-vid can censor people because society already does this. Most people do not want to have open discussions about these topics. Most victims are not believed by the people whom they do tell which is usually family members such as parents. If the family members can start actually believing and taking action against these types of behaviour then we will see progress and it won't be easy for companies to censor people. You may not be able to make the law make them account by families can make that person account by giving them consequences for their actions instead of defending and protecting the abusers.

I developed quickly as a young girl & My next s-abuse happened at 9 years old & that continued until I was 12..... when I found the courage to tell the people around Me I was blamed for trying to seduce this grown ass man.... I was 9.... I didnt even know what the word seduction meant!!! & this man was a boyfriend of My oldest cousin but all the Women around Me were attracted to him so I didnt matter..... the healing process starts when you are aware that abuse has happened & it lasts indefinitely Many Blessings to All Who Have Suffered Abuse..... For real though, people will come out of the woodwork corroborating womens' stories after the fact but didn't do shit in the moment. I think it was in Daniel Sloss's special X, If there is 1 bad man out of 10 in a room and the other 9 do/say nothing then they might as well not fucking be there. It's like with cops and the bad apple thing, if 1 man does horrific shit and the 9 see it and don't stop it or call it out, then there isn't 1 bad man, there is 10. You don't get full props for just not committing the act yourself, but for calling out/shutting down that shit when you see it.

I'm a little older I'm a Gen X 47 years old nothing like this ever happened to me. I grew up in the era of the video vixen where girls who were young would show up and be able to dance in the video and nothing would happen and they were nice what happened to Cassie. While I agree with almost everything, I think you need to copy and paste the reason why it took Cassie so long to come out to the reason why these men took so long to come out. Maybe they were also afraid of what Diddy would do. And maybe there were people that stood up and got snuffed out. Especially since when Cassie was with him due to the trauma, she didn't even think she could get away. If someone tried to get her out, she might have not been able to comply due to the trauma and fear. And maybe HER strength gave these men inspiration and strength to tell the truth along with her.

The only persons reasoning i ever understood was Henry Cavill. He said I would date someone my age but by the time they get to my age they already have what they want together and im an actor and have to travel all over the place all the time and my person can't do that because theyve got their jobs and their life in order. People make conscious decisions all the time. It does not mean they deserve to be or should be victimized. Your logic is basically saying because she wanted money, she deserves to be raped, beaten, murdered, etc.... It's not an equivalency. It's the same as blaming someone for being raped and murdered for choosing to take a short cut home instead of walking their normal route. It's the same as saying someone deserved to die in a car accident because they decided to get out and go buy groceries. We all make decisions that could result in disastrous consequences. That does not justify monsters taking advantage of the choices we make. A person entering a relationship for money is not illegal. Pedophilia, rape, assault, murder, etc...these things are illegal.
