As a Kenyan, when I hear of places like South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe etc., they seem like very far off and unreachable places especially on road. But when I see a video like this, it proves to me that the world is a very small place and everything is possible.
Best Daring abroad i've ever seen. I'm planning a road trip from Nairobi to Dar es salaam to Lusaka to Lilongwe in Malawi. Pray for me to go and come back safely🙏
I know Joel very well...He's a very hardworking gentleman. I have lived and worked in Gaborone, Botswana for over 10 years. Since 2007. Most Kenyans with 'mizigos' to send back home to their relatives use this guy...he's convenient and trustworthy.
Inter-country commerce and the possibilities of Africa are on full display here. I wish African leaders would champion a more integrated economic strategy and policy for the entire continent. Thanks Chams Media for such good work. And for adding a road trip to my long bucket list.
Eee mwanaume anajenga ngorofa sonko anabomoa baada ya hiyo safari. Kikuyus are like water floods. They have gone every part of the world. And they settle where they go. God bless work of their hands.
KIKUYU'S ARE EQUALLY VERY CORRUPT IMPUNITY DEVILS >> They have messed Kenya indeed that is why they are running away to well run stable countries like Botswana. I hope they don't take their bad thievery nature to those nations..
i dont mean to be offtopic but does anyone know of a trick to log back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot the password. I love any tips you can offer me.
@Blaze Marshall I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Am watching this video for the fifth time..from Uganda Very much interested in road trips. Chamwada I admire your free flow onset. Joel I will look for you soon.
Just love what I am seeing on this video, I am from Nigeria and I have travelled all over Europe while driving by road. I see it's a great experience. I just hope one day I can have this same experience in African countries. Just love this adventure
@Thabo Sethipa you are such an idiot and a disgusting son of bitch for making such a comment. Your comments showed your levels of how shallow minded you are, it's a pity.
I Did this road trip in July last year. We were with my nine and eleven year old sons. From Lesotho, South Africa Botswana Zambia Tanzania and Namanga Kenya. Seven days 5000km. It was fun meeting different people. I must say all the people in different countries were very friendly. But after entering my country Kenya, trouble started. Anyway, I finally managed registering my car in Kenya.
Hongera chamwada for showing us how far one can go to make it in life....I don't care if he sells at 1000% profit ...all I know is that wachira works goes the extra mile(literally)for it....proud to be kikuyu and Kenyan...
What a nice documentary. I drive from Johannesburg to Nairobi quite often. There are some challenges emanating from narrow roads, unnecessarily delays at the borders and the worst of it is the theft from pickups and trucks in some parts of Zambia and more specifically between the towns of Kafue and Choma. If it happens you are driving that stretch of 250 Km in the evening or at night you should avoid stopping if possible and be very vigilant. Otherwise it a nice and very tiring adventure and especially when you are a sole driver.
@@awaconawacon7533 just too many. and if your car has foreign registration you will be stopped are every police stop. they spend another 20-30 min asking you same questions and inspecting same documents and looking for every excuse to slap you with a fine. a very exhausting experience
People are hustling as I sleep. In one week jamaa anapata 180k profit. Na arudi na zingine the other week. I'm sure anapelekea Wakenya wengine iyo stock.
Like i said and I'll say again kenyans need to travel to appreciate their own country. Kenya has better road network by far far only now is Ethiopia catching up no other country except s.a can match Kenya.
I really love this video. I am doing a similar trip, from London through Europe then Morocco and drive south along West Africa coast to Gabon. I will be departing London in a few weeks time
Fred Kosgey My friend, I in New York and London I currently travel between them and Africa is a lot more safer than these countries, so I am going to disagree with that comment sir
An interesting Journey, more so the daring Kenyan Spirit, I am inspired by Mr Joel Wachira. This trip is a bucket list item. Chams, keep doing the good work, bringing us unique content while traveling the world.....Passion Passion Passion....
Agreed. He should have taken a detour in Livingstone. Beautiful Mosi-oa-Tunya falls. Or get to Kazungula via Victoria Falls Town in Zimbabwe. Africa is beautiful.
@@johnweru We will do more..It is the nature of Daring Abroad. It is just 12 minutes. But we are working on longer versions for another program. Have you used this route as well?
Hats off to Joel! Driving all those kilometers in a Hiace like a boss! Only driven from Juba to Nairobi in a Voxy and its an experience that I wouldn’t like to re-live.
This is a very beautiful clip. There is just one problem. It is just too too short for a journey of this magnitude.I wish it was long so that we who want to travel this journey at some point in our lifetime can really appreciate and marvel at the sights and sounds of all the various places and countries the team passes through. It has me yearning for more visuals. As an African from Botswana I have always wished to travel to either Tanzania or Kenya by road and this provides just a small glimpse of what to expect. WOW!!!
This video is definitely too short. Five or ten or fifteen minutes more would have been good. Ah well maybe the RU-vidr can upload another video a sequel to this video ? Let's see what happens ! If anyone has not been on any Africa Road Trip - then they need to watch the video and see and enjoy the raw beauty of Africa.
Indeed a beautiful & worthy documentary of a road trip.. I'm planning a road trip from Nbi Kenya to Lusaka Zambia & i will appreciate the best road planner guide..
So adventurers, you remind me of my trip to Joburg some years back.i used same route. watu watembee ....ALEX TRY THE ROUTE FROM JOZI/jo'burg TO RABAT MOROCCO its more marvelous than NRB TO Gaborone. (cover 7,300 miles or 11000 km and dare abroad.)
This is very interesting. Those goods must be very expensive there. And fuel is very cheap in Botswana, Botswana has always been my favorite country in Africa to visit.
Wow! That might be the most well kept stretch of road in the entire African continent. The van stayed on asphalt from start to finish. That's rarely the case, especial in the western part of the continent. By African standards, that's a super highway.
@@Chwamwada Chams, you also need to highlight that you need local currency of all the countries you transit in order to buy food, and pay tariffs. USD's only get accepted in well established outlets.
hardworker indeed, while some people sell drugs and steal, its amazing how its like three hours by jet from Gaborone to Nairobi, i can fell african hospitality throughout these many countries, love from Botswana
Thanks for the video story. I did this trip to & from Gaborone to Nairobi in the same type of van as a paying passenger. Unfortunately I cannot recall if it was the same driver in the video. What a long trip but at the same time it was an adventure.
I remember doing his route back in 2010 from Lesotho to Mombasa. Zambia has really bad roads... I 'm about to do another trip from Vancouver Canada to Nova Scotia Canada 8000km
I have taken this road trip thrice, with 2 detours to Victoria falIs. The first one to Botswana, the second to Zimbabwe and the third to Lilwongwe in Malawi. Fun,fun and more fun.
Wow ... And there I was always thinking that only trucks make those long hauls... Wow, even "malaicha" guys run that route too! 🙏🏾💯👌🏾 Respect! I'd love to do this with my wife.
