These horror stories are the exact reason I want a furby. Side note, if your cousin possessed a toy of any kind wouldn't that make you want to keep it more? Like it would be cruel to throw it out. And you can bother them anytime and they'll have no say in the matter.
Honestly man. Like my house is absolutely so haunted, I'm pretty much used to those kind of stuff. Every night, I always hear wood cracking, knocking, banging, and a bunch of other paranormal stuff. And I've gotten haunted toys, too. And a furby would totally give a perfect vibe with my house.
I had a furby and when I stopped playing with it and put it in the back of my closet one time it said “let me out” but I thought it was just a glitch or sm but then it kept happening so I gave it to my lil sis 😄 and she was so scared cause she shoved it in her closet too so then my parents just threw it out :) my sister now is absolutely TERRIFIED of furbies (:
To be honest, they don't turn on at random. Only if they are disturbed by movement. I thought the same thing when I got my first furby. Also, to make them go to sleep if needed, simply leave it in the dark.

Story time:there was a girl who was visiting her grandmother,the grandmother had a forest behind her house so the girl went and explore it and then she found a furbie in the forest so she decided to take it home and put it in her room and later that night the she tried to turn it on,it didn't work so she left it,soon it was midnight and she heard the furbie turn on and then when she went closer she saw black liquid coming from the eyes and she saw the eyes moving around and then the furbie said wher-... where am I before the girl answered the furbie repeated the sentence put me back put me back PUT ME BACK!!! so the girl took the furbie and threw it into the forest and told the thing that happened to to her grandmother and the grandmother went pale...
I’m a kid that’s nine years old that I grew up with Furbies because of my grandma she had them in my room at her house and I played with them and I thought they were really cute
