I don't have a symbol but I really wanna ask are you gonna do the dark ocean this year? It's just odd for a person like you who is so into Zero Two and has talked about things in other seasons that never happened not bringing up the most frustrating and interesting part of Zero Two. PS: Frustrating because they did nothing with it not that the Dark Ocean as an idea is frustrating.
Explaining about Witcheny could be cool or the fact a lot of Wizardmon's ultimate it gains in the DW might be base on what type of magic it achieved Mummymon or Myotismon: Neromancy Wisemon: Time and Space Mistymon: Magic and enchanted weaponry Phantomon: Death magic Baalmon: Red Book of Appin Skullmeramon: Failed spell class and a drop-out
MirageGaogomon technically doesn’t have the digital hazard cause if you look at it it is actually upside down to the orientation we see the digital hazard in
For dukemon, one interesting thing to note is that he's allways one of the royal knights that betray Yggdrasil, and usually the first to betray him, it could explain why he still bears the hazard symbol, because he still has a high chance to cause chaos in the digital world by betraying its ruler, but the difference is that he will only do that when the digital world needs to change in order to become good again
And even that is the general theme of Dukemon as a character, a virus with the potential to destroy the digital world, but it has become a guardian of the network. He writes his own destiny and will always be there to help when needed.
Fun fact: Every other knight is data or vaccine, but Galantmon (or Dukemon if you prefer) is a virus. The more you know EDIT: actually, Magnamon is a Free type and Crusadermon (or LordKnightmon if you prefer) is also Virus type. Still, Crusadermon is 3 for 3 being a bad guy, though not always a traitor.

Always thought that Raguelmon from Digimon Adventure Tri. was a great candidate to have the Digital Hazard symbol slapped on them. I get that it's part of that anime's storyline, but Raguelmon is literally a walking hazard event, and has a dark side throughout its digivolution line.
I always thought of the digital hazard much like the biohazard symbol saying "Hey, this thing is dangerous! Treat it with care or expect consequences." Never really tied it in with MirageGaogamon, but I think it fits Guilmon and Lucemon well! I'd love to see some more info about these odd things that we see in the digital world that get little to no explanation, but perhaps it's a mystery we'll never know... Mwahahaha! Side note, I really love the vest you got on and all the "spooky" stuff in the background! It really all looks, great man!
I legit never knew MirageGaogamon and Lucemon had connections to the digital hazard. Honestly, in retrospect, considering how crazy-strong some Digimon can get in kinda surprised there aren't more digital hazard out there... As for other symbols, maybe discussing the design theory behind the crests could be interesting? Or maybe the repeated inclusion of golden rings on holy-themed Digimon?
Something I vaguely remember is someone had an idea that Magidramon already existed but didn't have a digivolution line. That is until Takato made Guilmon and created one for it. So the Digital Hazard appears on Guilmon because it is now connected to Magidramon.
I like the idea that the digital hazard is like nuclear power. Some digimon use a source of power that is unstable which can cause them to be mentally. Then even ones that keep themselves under control are still powered by this source. So headcannon if any digimon like gallantmon or miragegaomon are destroyed they could chose to release the power as a last ditch effort like a bomb. Releasing the raw power of the digital hazard.
It's also interesting that Miragegaogamon/the Gaomon line has a sort of similar design progression to Guilmon in addition to both having the Digital Hazard: The child stage sets the base concept, the adult stage accentuates the features, the perfect stage adds engines and jet features, and then the ultimate stage is a medieval themed knight version of the line.... now, in fairness, child > bigger child as adult > cyborg > knight isn't exactly a rare progression template for digimon, it's sort of common, actually; but I think there's more direct parrallels between the two then most lines with that format, especially given how explictly engine, jet, motor, etc themed the perfects are; rather then being weapon or generic machine themed.
it does make you wonder if there's some hidden side evolution to MirageGoagamon similar to Megidramon, which now that i'm typing it and the digimon coming from Savers probably means it's a very good thing we never got a Ruin Mode for Mirage Goagamon
It is so common in fact that both agumons, both from adventure and savers has a similar design for every stage, garurumon line also switchs the 2 last evolutions arround, having no cyborg until weregarurumon but then evolving into a full cyborg (and that is why blitzgreymon and cresgarurumon actually makes more sense to both lines than their original versions).
Guilmon due to being a digital hazard all of its lines are a virus type digimon, but its intersting to see that it also has the black varient normally to be a virus varient. tho i do have to say that the digital hazard do require abit more lore it seems like there is a real established lore and why some digimons have them, they just havn't told us yet
I always thought those classifications didn't get used enough in the show. the only tiem it was plot relevant was with Guilmon, there was a line specifically when he turned into Megidramon about him being Virus type but obviously it turned out to be the result of his dark evolution rather than his nature.
This has nothing to do with the digital hazard, just something I noticed, yggdrasil, despite being the so called God of the digital world, always seems to land antagonistic roles, in savers he tried to destroy the human world, in the dorumon movie he basically tried to kill all the digimon, and in a lot of the games he created a lot the digital lifeforms that serve as final bosses, just thought that was interesting
I do believe Yggdrasil and God themselves are actually separate entities, since even after the inclusion of Yggdrasil we still get mentions of God, along with the Royal Knights serving directly under Yggdrasil yet have no working relationship with the Three Archangels who serve directly under God
@@gregkava1276 40% wrong: Although the Three Great Angels were founded by the Human God, the Digimon Chronicle X storyline recognizes Yggdrasill (and Ogudomon X) as God, while the Human God physically died a long time ago. The fact that the Human God died comes from Digimon Story Lost Evolution, where he leaves a child copy of himself who is not Lucemon, he is a boy named Kernel (the comparison with Lucemon is because they are both "sons" of this Human God, and in fact, you can find a stupid physical and mental resemblance between them, both blond-haired blue-eyed dictators). Still, Kernel is insistent on making it clear that all power belongs to Yggdrasill, even if the Human God created this supercomputer or not. In Digimon Crusaders, Yggdrasill has disappeared and all the Digimon with some sort of position start fighting among themselves to see who rules everything as God, and this includes the Three Angels because they had been serving Yggdrasill until he disappeared. But finally, the most incredible lore is in Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth, where it is revealed to us that Yggdrasill, even though he is God, is researching a way to find God, the real God, not even the Human God who possibly created the supercomputer, that human was created by a Creator if you think about it enough.
@Martin Toledo I promise you it will get worse in Digimon Survive, the game was made in the producer's anxiety to explain some ideas that Hiroyuki Kakukudo told him about how mankind always believed in supernatural beings and formed religions around them, but that in the post-modern era and especially due to the trope that supernatural beings make reactions in electronic devices (the famous paranormal activity, the infamous and silly ghost recordings, etc.), people began to believe that the yokai and other beings like angels or demons were monsters coming from technology and began to call them "digital monsters". So, as these beings actually came from a plane called "world of ideas" shaped by the beliefs of mankind, human perception rewrote their essences and changed the story from mystical beings to digital beings, altering the history of their pasts completely.
I believe that miragegaogomon carved the digital hazard as a sign of how powerful it is I headcanon that lucemon was branded with the digital hazard after he fell As for tamers guilmon, I actually theorized that takato is the true digital hazard(which explains his psychic powers) with guilmon acting as a catalyst power it’s destructive power
Its the other way around for Takato and Guilmon, Takato is the catalyst. Takato's anger and willingness to win at any cost is what led to Guilmon becoming Megidramon, similar to how Tai pushed Greymon into becoming Skullgreymon.

When Ruki and Renamon were fighting in the street in front of Takato's house he was floating on the balcony of his house, watching the fight, but no one saw him there because Takato was physically sleeping on the bed in his room. That was Takato's mind seeing the fight outside his body.

When Guilmon reached the perfect stage Takato began to physically feel the attacks that his partner received, he also began to have strange hallucinations about Guilmon and sometimes went into a trance state. What's more, when Jeri asked for help being trapped inside the D-Reaper and being on the other side of the world, Takato heard her asking for help, but he was the only one who heard.

The Guilmon line and Megidramon in particular are my all time favourite Digimon, Lucemon is my favourite villain and Mirage Gaogamon is really cool as well. In short, I freaking love the Digital Hazard. Thank you for making this video.
Can’t wait to see the theory of the Zero unit since it’s interesting that Calumon, the mega forms of the main 3 Digimon from tamers , and Lucemon had that symbol. Makes me think that Lucemon was suppose to be the final villian of Tamers since his story is also tied to the Digimon that oversees the Digimon sovereign

Fan theory. The Digital Hazard was the thing that influenced a tamer to create the Digimon in the first place. It needed a real world anchor and what better way to start as an info hazard
I remember being a kid and wondering why Guilmon had an "evil" symbol on him. I don't think I had any idea what the digital hazard was but I still interpreted it as being something sinister. It's interesting to me that as a 9 year old I somehow reached that conclusion on my own. I think that shows just how well designed it is to be able to lead a child's mind down the correct path without shoving it in their face.
I never thought much of the digital hazzard or calumon as a counterpart it makes so much sense now. Now all i can think of is that guilmon could hsve had other forms as one scene plays in my head where takato armor digivolves guilmon but maybe the hazard was placed on him creating growlmon and wargrowlmon and was the power of the hazard making them go beserk as he nature of megidramon and gallantmon is a biomerge soo maybe it was takato's willpower alongside guilmon that made it less chaotic
So Lucemon Chaos Mode (a perfect/ultimate level digimon) can take on Megas and "God" (aka King Drasil)? That's not surprising. Masaru was able to punch and destroy the thing.
Oooo I always love Explain videos. Despite Digimon being a series that I adore and hold close to my heart, there’s still a TON of things in the franchise I don’t know a lot about. The Digital Hazard being one of them, I had heard the name and seen the symbol a lot, but didn’t really know what it was, just assuming it was a symbol for “DANGER” or something. So I greatly appreciate this video Karn! But again, there’s plenty of stuff I still don’t understand. Biggest one if anyone is curious? While I adore the Olympus 13…I don’t fully understand how the Digital World has different servers, why it has those, what the hell is difference besides who protects them, and if they are counted as like…entirely separate worlds. This was just an example. Would LOVE to see more videos like this Karn, both Spooky ones and and ones explaining some really weird stuff in the Digimon World. Great Vid as always Dude.
I always felt like the Digital Hazard appeared on Guilmon because Takato was so linked to the Digital Hazard. As if he was the Chosen Tamer of the Hazard. Since Takato’s emotions, particularly anger, powers up Guilmon’s Digivolutions, when it reached a tipping point, it triggered the Digivolution into Megidramon. With his original D-Power Destroyed, but his power still needed as a Tamer/Digidestined, the Digital World granted him a new D-Power - one that could contain and focus the Hazard into Dukemon/Gallantmon. It gave a greater emphasis on Takato’s character arc and why his imagination brought Guilmon to life. But maybe that’s just me.

Not against the idea, but design wise, I think it would end up too similar to regular Omnimon... unless it fused into something completely different and unrelated to all Omnimon variants, which would be a breath of fresh air.
Digimon rearise had an small event where megidramon was using full power of digital hazard, megidramon was bodying all the other 3 great dragons but was eventually defeated. And then there is also the new card game where it shows him beating omegamon i think
neat vid. getting back into digimon these days. tamers rules, and i have to say the first episode of ghost game was fairly compelling. long live guilmon!
I imagine that the digital hazard shows the potential for a Digimon to go feral with raw power. Despite never seeing it, I would not be surprised if a miragegougamon ruin mode was in the works when the original was designed, potentially dropped and replaced by shinegreymon ruin mode instead. As for guilmon, we’ve seen the good boi borderline feral early on when he first started fights and wouldn’t listen to takatomon. Lucemon is lucemon, I don’t think I need to explain why Lucifer would be considered potentially feral, especially when you get a look at shadow lord mode. Overall it’s a hazard sign. A digital hazard. The Digimon in question is dangerous to be around without caution. Whether said caution requires a gentle touch of a friend, the trust of a master, or grovelling on your knees begging for mercy is entirely up to what Digimon possesses the danger.
So wait if the Hazard symbol represents the apocalypse, and 2 of the evil Digimon with the Hazard symbol are Lucemon and Megidramon, Lucifer and a Dragon named for Megido respectively, then that means there should be at least one more Hazard Digimon to conclude the dark trinity of the Book of Revelation in the Bible
Fascinating indeed. Man the Digital Hazard is like a Blessing and Curse at the same time.. it most likely has more unknown information that we just don't know about.. I want more answers about the Symbolic of the Digital Hazard..
Considering the plot of 2020, the stuff we see in tamers, and the lore of the lucemon line, The Hazard and the Zero-unit seem to similar contrasting forces of the creation and evolution of the digital world, and the destruction and end of it. Callumon is said to be the light of evolution that wished for digimon form itself, and Omegamon remarked that Negamon, despite being the will of destruction, was a digimon too. It even connects to the X-antibody plotlines where the hazard was the overpopulation threatening to crash the network. Just me speculating, but the Zero-unit and Digi-hazard might be inverse forces in essence. The Growth and Life contrasting with the End and Destruction. Both phenomenally powerful if left unchecked, but also a sign of so much potential for those marked.
Very interesting! I never made these connections for the Digital hazard outside season 3 before. Super cool that you were able to point out the Lucemon connection. It makes me think the Digital hazard could really become an even more significant symbol if it were fleshed out a bit more in its own storyline. Megidramon is one of my other main Digimon from Digimon World Dusk. Also hoping to start Cyber Sleuth. Is it any similar to the RPG style of Dusk and Dawn, or at least contains the base RPG elements rather than a direct copy of the DS Digimon World games?
So, the thing to note about Guilmon is that he doesn't JUST bear the Digital Hazard. He also has its counterpart (the same symbol that Calumon has, the Catalyst). I kinda see Guilmon like a living version of Kite's Bracelet from .Hack: It can bring great salvation, or great destruction, based on the whim of the user.
To add to the Guilmon line comments, Megidramon doesn't seem to have the zero-unit markings on his body anymore, as if he's given in entirely to the Digi-Hazard. The zero-unit might be what lets the other members of the line be beneficial to the network. To the point where Gallantmon is a royal knight bearing both.
A reason why Miragegaogamon has the Digital Hazard could be because Gaomon is a subspecies of Gazimon, which can digivolve into various dangerous digimon such as Chimeramon and Gulfmon. So, maybe, the digital hazard is a warning that Miragegaogamon, despite it's noble appearance, is as dangerous as those digimon.
The digital hazard symbol on Gallantmon's shield is actually explained by what brings ChaosGallantmon into existence. Surprised that wasn't caught in spite of the mention.
You can consider it like this: You have the Angelic Realm, the home of the Holy Digimon; The Dark Area, where the Evil Digimon are banished to; And the Digital Hazard, where waste and Anomalous Data are sent. It's a realm of Chaotic Energy. Occasionally though, a Digimon created from an amalgamation of this data can break out of the Digital Hazard. These creations have an unstable Digicore, which gives them great power but instability of mind. Guilmon was created out of recycled data pulled from the Digital Hazard, so it was branded with its symbol to warn of its unstable nature. Apart from MirageGaogamon, all other beings bearing the Digital Hazards symbol have a direct connection to the Chaotic energies of that realm...
I Wonder why the milliunumon line doesnt have the symbol, since it can level the digital multivers. Or for that matter the demon Lords doesnt have then either, since their fusion will destroy the digital world.
The digital hazard is a very cool idea that I am glad is still around for most of the series but now thanks to you everytime Bruce Almighty enters my brain, I will always think of Lucemon instead lol. Still, nice start for your Halloween saga!
Speaking of Tags and Crests, both Guilmon and Taomon have markings on their body that could be used as "Crests." Guilmon of course has the Digital Hazard while Renamon has the Yin Yang symbol. Unfortunately Terrirermon doesn't have a unique symbol but all three Tamers Megas have the Zero Unit on their body.

@@Karn_EX no need to worry mate as my own heart + my mind still treasure the fact that so many different kinds of content from Digimon over numerous media like the awesome Japanese-anime which I had in a few DVDs as a child + all of the Digimon World games from on PS1 totally helped myself to prepare for so many things like reading, spelling + need for so many mathematical skills within my years at school from like 2003 until graduating year 12 in 2013 so thanks for reminding myself about so many awesome things like my own love for characters like Ogremon (as my favourite voice actor does his lines in Japanese), Etemon + Venommyotismon oh and how could I forget Phoenixmon (which had all been OPAF on my files from Digimon World 2 as a big kid during the mid 00s) so thanks for all the reminders man! 😎
+ I am pretty sure that Gomamon from the 1999 Digimon Adventure had been voiced by the same Japanese chick which has been voicing characters like Tony Tony Chopper + Uzumaki Naruto so yeah ✌️😎
Its so strange to me for Gallantmon to have a Digital Hazard due to his status of being a Royal Knight and seemingly a more purified version of Guilmon’s line!! Lucemon to me is the only redeeming quality for Frontier the only reason I watched it was cause of that final battle they have with him, really interesting character to the Lore of Digimon as the leader of the 7 Demon Lords in spite of Chaos Mode only being an Ultimate Stage, Lucemon is ridiculously OP with his base Rookie Form said to surpass Ultimates and rival Megas that always was to me insane, Chaos Mode being at the Ultimate stage down right stomps 90% Mega Lvl Digimon whom are top tier then ShadowLord Mode is a catastrophe for the Digital World, also Lucemon X must be insane!! Yeah I know a thing or two about Radiation used improperly or incorrectly as my work as an NDT their is method of Industrial Radiography aka RT used for Inspections and we work with Radiation with this method and I learned the hard way when I got exposed with 450 mR of Radiation nothing severe thankfully had I got 1000 mR or 1 Roentgen from short term exposure I’d have gotten bad symptoms like radiation sickness, vomiting etc I learned from that mistake but overall I stick with other NDT methods and do my best to avoid RT its the most tedious.

I love Guilmon for this evolutionary destiny of becoming a destroyer demon dragon, it is shocking at first viewing and contrasts his innocent personality. But it never becomes overly edgy a concept or becomes cheezy when he turns into a holy knight I guess cause of Dukemon's design not going overboard holy like the angle types. Its pretty much Hellboy-esque.
Thought of something after the fact- the magic runes from all the Witchelny Digimon might be interesting to discuss, as well as thematically appropriate for the spooky times

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the top of Guilmon’s nose DOES have the digi.hazard sign, in Takatos drawing (which you show, fair play) it’s totally visible, so it probably existed before that in a Digimon that lore wise existed prior

Wouldnt have been interesting to have guilmon and gaomon be partners in a alt digimon savers as they could serve as a paralels of agumon and gabumon similar to lalamon was to palmon
according to wikimon lucemon-x is actually lucemon: FM's x-antibody, as it makes reference to it being a demon lord and it evolving from falldown mode via the x-antibody.
I always assumed that Guilmon having the hazard symbol was because of his "artificial" creation, there probably weren't any Digimon created by a kids wish before so Yggdrasil or whoever was in charge just put the "treat carefully" mark down becuase they wouldn't know if this would becoem a problem later.
You know, with what we know about the Digital Hazard, you'd think that in Digimon Tri, they could have just used that. What was even the point of "Libra" and such? We didn't need something like that or infected Digimon. The Digital Hazard in itself is all that's needed to really highlight the literal danger the worlds are in. Because any Digimon with that mark has the potential to destroy the world.
Dukemon Betrays Yggdrasil was Because he's Yggdrasil's Retainer in some way such as when Yggdrasil loses Control Resulting the extinctioning half the Digital world Population in the X Saga Digimon movie
my best guess is the digi hazerd symbole is put on digimon and things that can break the digital world and the saver symbole is on digimon and things that can save the digital world. Maby guilmon only has both as he is an outside creation from the digital world being firstly created by takato and then his data was likely copyed across all digital worlds.
While the word hazard usually indicates danger or peril, it can also mean a venture, which itself can mean to try a new undertaking involving danger and risk. On top of that, "venture" was used in the past to mean destiny. its entirely possible the term hazard was used deliberately because of these. And "Digital Hazard" just sounds a lot more fantastical than "Digital Venture."
I always interpreted the Digital Hazard like "The potential to destroy the digital world". You could see the symbol to the entry of the Dark Area in Digimon Chronicles X. Also, some days ago I remember your video about jogress that don't exist, and I didn't see correct pair Shinegreymon wih Miragegaogamon, and then I remember that Mirage have the digital hazard so... What about a jogress between Dukemon and Miragegaogamon? Two mega digimon with the symbol of the DH that aren't evil.
I never knew that Lucemon was a Digimon with the potential for both evil and good, though to be fair, I suppose that’s only because every incarnation of Lucemon has always been depicted as evil. This honestly makes me want to see a good Lucemon as opposed to an evil one, though knowing Bandai when it comes to religion, particularly Christianity for some reason, I doubt that will ever happen given that the digimon is based on Lucifer.
My theory is megidramon wanted a partner and pulled a millenniumon. Chose tekato to draw a rookie stage champion and ultimate. Millenniummon partner is ryo. But in order for ryo to become his partner ryo must defeat milleniummon . And only ryo is capable of defeating millenniumon . A Rock Paper Scissors. Dynamic.
5:04 The kid’s partner does go through a dark digivolution, so the hazard could be used as a hint of his potential darkness. Dark digivolving isn’t really a thing in most of the manga, being more present in the anime, but Next has it at least twice. Just thought that I’d mention this even though I suspect someone else already mentioned it or I’m to just be ignored which is also fair.
I figure the Digital Hazard is not an actual Physical "thing" like the X-Antibody but rather a warning sign very much like the biohazard, the radiation danger, the skull and bones for poison or even something like a Stop Sign. Meant to warn people or other digimon approaching anything branded with it to its extreme power contained within the Digicore. Now we do now that the design of Takato does not bear this crest on the drawing he made. But we can safely assume before he materialized into the human world he would have been generated, scanned and branded by a high authority such as Yggdrassil or Homeostasis as a "Potential" danger while inside the digital world, rather than to destroy or not generate this extremely powerful digimon the decision was made instead to brand it as a Digital Hazard and observe its development... but thats just a theory... a Digimon Theory.
@2:36 i also find it funny that Megidramon is one of the 4 legendary dragons of the digital world with the 3 others being [and I could be wrong it's been awhile since I read any of their bio's] Goddramon, Qinglongmon, Holydramon, with Slayerdramon either as the head dragon or the only one who beat them. [like i said it's been 10+ years since i read their bio's so i could be way off base here.]
@3:31 i've always called them [gold] growlmon and [gold] war growlmon. Orange always felt like a mistranslation to me as they don't look remotely orange, maybe yellow even green [if you have color blindness] but not orange.
@7:32 "rivals god" still got his ass whooped by an Omnimon [in terms of power lvl] Ultra.... I some how doubt Lucimon is as strong as "OUR" gods maybe the digiworld gods but not humanity's gods. once again i think it was a mistranslation.
I always wondered what the symbol meant on certain Digimon but didn’t think much of it. Also I didn’t know it was called Fall Down Mode I thought it was Fallen Mode
