Top 10 Digimon That SHOULD Be Digivolutions - But Are The SAME Level! 

The fact that Gammamon doesn't evolve into Monochromon and then Triceramon will always bother me to no end.

I love the idea of Gladimon becoming SkullKnightmon. It fits so well with the soldier/knight theme. It's a huge missed opportunity in my opinion.

For Digivolution, I kinda want BushiAgumon to have its own evolution line, with Gaioumon/Samudramon as the Mega.

For me, Kuwagamon and Snimon. I thought for long period of time that Snimon is evolution for Kuwagamon, but no. Also, Monochromon and WezenGammamon. They are both champion level, but Wezen could be easily nice evolution for Monochromon. Mamemon, MetalMamemon, BigMamemon - all of them are on the same level, and it's confusing. Tyrannomon and DarkTyrannomon should be here too.

The Guardromon-Blimpmon same level decision must have come from the same meeting they shared a huge blunt and decided Deadpool's mouth should be sewn up in X-Men Origins: Wolverine...

Gaurdromon not evolving into Blimpmon has always been on my mind, and I always retcon it in my head, but the fact that it is not true is blasphemy.

The ogremon and truskmon gives me umm digimon 4 vibes the one with humans turning into digimon I can see ogremon being human side than slide digivole to your beast side truskmon. Hmm that might be a fun digimon video picking mons for the human and beast form.

I fully agree Exveemon really should have his own evolution line separate from the veedramon line or at least an ultimate form that fits between Exveemon and Magnanom being an acceptable mega for his own line of digivolution.

The funniest thing about Angoromon is it looks and feels like a sort of "feral" digivolution to Terriermon like Wendigomon to Lopmon. Like anyone else thinking Angoromon is very reminiscent of Wendigomon?

I've got a good whammy for you: Shademon should be able to evolve to Eyesmon, but are both Champion level Digimon. Furthermore, Eyesmon should then be able to Digivolve to Abaddomon/ Abaddomon Core None of these Digimon are in the same evolutionary family, and it actually pisses me off a bit. Nidhoggmon would be passible as a final evolution for Eyesmon if there were a better, perhaps an original branch between them, but Orochimon just throws the line off, and just makes me more mad about Eyesmon not being related to the Abaddomon line. Actually if we start with Negamon as the baby, had something else as In-training, Shademon as a Rookie, then go to Eyesmon as a Champion, Nidhoggmon for the Ultimate and Abaddomon as the Mega, that would satisfy me On a separate note, I also want Mikemon to have her own Angelic evolution, but I can’t unsee D'Arcmon and Hippogryphmon as like a forgotten 11th member of the Legendary Warriors. Part of me is convinced they were designed to be the Warrior of Light when Frontier's Lone Wolf character was planned to be a girl, while the beta Lobomon spirits were intended to be Ice until plans changed.

SkullKnightmon and Gladimon being the same level works so that they can mirror each other with their respective evolutions into Knightmon and DarkKnightmon.

Wow, never noticed how this topic could be so interesting. Lots of Digimon I would love to see at least as side evolutions in a season, but most would be perfects as evolutions indeed. Also, if I got a coin for every time you mention Hyokomon, I would be very wealth by now, but, even if not so, by any means, keep mentioning it ❤

I don’t really have much in terms of ideas sadly, I’m the type who always forgets a majority of Digimon’s levels and then become shocked later when learning they are a level you wouldn’t expect. Like you brought Gladimon in this video, for the longest time I thought he was a Rookie! But nope, they pulled a Gatomon and made the small and unassuming one a Champion. I only learned it’s actual level by chance when I was making fan made lines for the Olympus 12. I’ve noticed Digimon actually does this more then I realize…..best example was me being super shocked MarineAngemon was a high level when I was little. Also, i have no idea how the hell I missed the Terriormon and Gargomon Elements in Angoramon. I feel dumb for not noticing! He even had the green on the ears! You brought it up kinda with the Digmon/Drimogemon, but there's no reason that they can't be slide evolutions of each other if Bandai decides to bring that back again. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it came back next now that we're getting branching evos in the anime

I can't figure out if this is me being crazy or a real thing...but I swear Guardromon can fly. I have this image in my head of him flying with Kazu on his back 🤔 (Either way him not evolving into Blimpmon is still Madness)

Well, one my picks would be Black Tailmon and Mad Leomon. But in another note I've always thought the idea of parallel digivolutions (alternating between different digimon of the same stage) would be a really cool thing to have in Digimon series. Digimon 02, Digimon 2020, and Ghost Game have really good examples on this. Like each different forms would have its own strengths and weaknesses that creates strategic advantages and disadvantages that would be really cool for a more tactical approach on Digimon battles. Here are my examples: The obvious like Blimpmon and Guardromon have clear roles and distinct strengths. Blimpmon can be for aerial battles and transport while Guardromon could be land battles. Tortamon has a skill that makes it good for mid to long range engagements and disruption by launching the spikes on its shell, turning into a more melee suited Ankylomon when the enemy gets close would be a sound strategy. Black Tailmon is small but is still physically strong and very agile with a mind of a hunter, a lightning bruiser but also a glass cannon. If it can turn into Mad Leomon it gets bigger stronger, and more durable, but in return it loses some of its speed. While it gains ferocity it also loses its rationality making it very difficult to control and strategize with, limiting your options. Dark Tyranomon has the same problem as Mad Leomon, while it is bigger and stronger than regular Tyranomon its a much slower and bigger target as a result, it also loses the intelligence and cooperation that regular Tyranomon's strong suit. The fact that Tyranomon is a digimon that is easy to train is its greatest strength as it's the kind of Digimon that would really excel in battles of skill when paired with an excellent Tamer that can educate it. Blackened/Darkened Digimon and Subspecies in general tend to have distinct strengths compared to their original counterpart. (BlackGaogamon is slower but more durable and BlackGalgomon excells more in stealth kills for example) This also applies to the Armor Evolutions. Having access of multiple forms with distinct and equally viable strengths in a single digimon to chose from would be really cool. Especially since it can lead to more cases of Digimon and Tamer strategizing and punching up to beat opponents stronger than themselves.

As far as the xvmon evolution, I always figured it would work well to have a rapidmon situation, where the ultimate is a recolor of the gold armor form So v-mon -> Xv-mon -> magnamon (silver) -> ulforce veedramon

I like the mikemon to lovelyangemon to venusmon . Yes I know that they are both ultimates but I think its fits .

Angoramon and Terriermon (and by extension Lopmon) are totally related though, like their designs match up crazy well.

One to kind of throw out is GrapLeomon and LoaderLeomon, both ultimate. Leomon has a lot if megas, but Leomon > Grapleomon > Loader Leomon captures a leomon that slowly becomes more and more technology (similar to the gabumon line slightly. )

Terriermon/angoramon, exveemon/kausgammamon and lillymon/lilamon i completely agree with. I was more surprised lillymon/lilamon ain't on the same evolution stage

Since I totally didn’t know this was a different evolution at the time to comment it on Twitter, I’ll say it in the comments here. But I would say Crowmon. Why only one digimon? Well that’s because supposedly his Japanese name is another digimon entirely as well due to Crowmon being the subspecies. The digimon in question is Yatakaramon. They both evolve from peckmon and the only reason I know about this is because of digimon world ds and world dusk ds. Digimon world ds came out 2 months after digimon Savors started airing and so I think since Crowmon wasn’t introduced then at all they made that digimon who appeared in the accel but changed it later once savors made the digimon it’s evolution. But they’re both ultimate levels and I can see Yatakaramon being the more feral beast like mega, almost like a dark evolution gone wrong

For Tuskmon, it can digivolve from SnowGoburimon, and it can digivolve into SkullGreymon whose skull is used as part of Titanmon's sword, so I think that does show a bot of the connection between Tuskmon and Ogremon

It took me until Adventure 2020 came out for me to realize that DarkTyranomon was only a champion/adult, so I always head cannoned them as being a better digivolution line than MetalTyranomon Also Birdramon to MailBirdramon from Xros Wars. How cool would it be for Birdramon to digivole into a cyborg jet plane bird!

Great video! Really enjoyed this and would love to see more like it! Anyway, my contribution, other than stuff that's already been mentioned would be opening a whole other can of worms since they're their own thing for multiple reasons, which is cool and makes sense and is perfectly sensible and all that, but certain X-Antibody variants are just so perfectly designed that it's so easy to imagine the non-X variants evolving into them. Like one of the most obvious examples in my mind is Monzaemon and Monzaemon-X. Like, beyond them being the same level, that would be a "crossing the streams" moment having normal evolutions evolve into X-Antibody variants, but on the other hand, you have stuff like Patamon evolving directly into Pegasusmon and Palmon evolving into Ponchomon in Adventure 2020, mixing the lines between normal evolution and armor evolution, and, as alluded to in this video, there's also been stuff like Drimogemon (Rookie/Child) and Drimogemon (Champion/Adult) for years, so eh, whatever. I just really like Monzaemon (X-Antibody)'s design and feel like it's perfect for a Monzaemon evolution.

I know that Tuskmon and Ogremon came out before this character, but in Fate Grand Order the character Kijyo Koyo is an oni woman who transforms in to a T-Rex.

Regarding #2 (Putting a cut here because I'm not talking about the spoiler mon there but just in case) I feel like the Ancient Warriors DIM in the VB specifically NOT having ExVeemon to AeroVeedramon is Bandai going "No stop doing this." to the fans.... and also GoldVeedramon is kind of a perfect Ultimate for him. Since I was a kid I always assumed that because of the movie, ExVeemon's ultimate was just like, a steel blue Magnamon because that's how Rapidmon worked and then from there into Imperialdramon FM but now seeing as Magnamon is a Royal Knight which are all Mega level, Ancient Warriors having ExVee to GoldVeedra to Magna in the VB has replaced my old childhood headcanon and I can finally rest. Now let's move onto giving Hawkmon and Wormmon some love.

When you look at the armor digimon charts, you can draw a few potential connections here and there: -HoneyBeemon and Digmon (Digmon just looks bigger and more developed) -HoneyBeemon and FlyBeemon (Same deal, FlyBeemon looks like a more competent HoneyBeemon) -Mothmon and Searchmon (Same set of limbs and both have a mechanical design, Searchmon is just more clad in metal) -Butterflymon and Shadramon (They look like variations of each other. Kind of a Scyther/Scizor scenario) -Frogmon and Shurimon (Leafy designs, and they hold shurikens similarly)

I do agree that Blimpmon and Guardromon both being champions is mind-boggling, but I like it since it makes Solarmon kind of like the “Transport/Support” evo line to Hagurumon “Combat/Defence” evo line. I don’t know if you get ideas from the comments, but have you ever thought of making a video about the 10 elements of Digimon?

I have something similar for me with the gatomons line by taking out salamon making gatomon the rookie and making Nefertitimon as the champion and Angewomon and so on. It makes since because gatomon has always been a wired champion that’s kindof treated as a rookie and Nefertitimon is the same level as a champion with it being a armor level. Thoughts?

One idea fore a video would be non Digimon characters that look ore feel like they would make fore great Digimon. Fore example Vivi from FFIX. You could put him in Digimon as a Digimon and nobody would say he looks out of place. I also think he would make fore a great Partner Digimon. One that is very powerful but needs encouragement and emotional support from his Partner like he got from Zidane in FFIX. I think he should atleast be a champion Digimon with how powerful he is and his trance form would make fore a great ultimate and Black Waltz 3 would be a great fit fore a dark Digievelution.

Hey Karn, I thought this was really interesting. But first, Happy early/ happy birthday, and your digimon content is really entertaining, you are by far my favorite digimon focused youtuber, and i hope you grow plentifully. As for what I found interesting, is these connections in designs, digimon are known to randomly crack and change to the oddest of things after all, but it's even more of a question why the most natural ones, do not mix to eachother. Though I don't know if this is a spoiler, so be warned. (To anyone who may read this.) Did you ever find it interesting that ghost game introduced a new type of scaling to digimon? As when they are or are not materialized, making what should be impossible fights possible, but not seem like a instant win. I thought this was pretty cool because it makes me think of how much digimon TRULY have effect on the world, even without being able to do physical damage directly. And require indirect manipulation to do so. It's a nice twist on what we are use to in my opinion.

I agree with #2. It always really bothered me how the franchise tried to push Paildramon, Silphymon and Shakkoumon as the natural evolution of XV-Mon, Aquilamon and Ankylomon in games and other media. What was the point of making them Jogress if they could naturally evolve into them. Don't get me wrong I do love these Jogress but if Wormmon (my fav out of the 4) was able to get a official line outside of his Jogress so should these 3.

I think the Lilymon/Lilamon entry is a bit of a stretch. Neither one really looks like an upgrade to me, as they look too similar. I kinda get your point, but, and this is just me, both look like they flow into Rosemon too well for one to naturally feel like a middle evo for the other.

I wish Buraimon was an ultimate cause I feel like it’s a good good-guy counterpart to Karatenmon. Other digimon I feel like should be different levels: Triceramon and Parrotmon should be champions. Pumpkinmon should be a rookie. Gokuwmon should be a mega. I’ve also always wanted Gatomon and it’s variants to just be rookies but alas I know that will never happen.

My personal wish for an Xvmon evo is a blue or black armored Magnamon, to contrast the Rapidmon situation. From there, tho, they'd really need a new evo completely

FUNFACTS : if you look close enough, Tuskmon hind legs are same shape with Digitamamon, who are canon evo for Ogremon (albeit different nail color) 😌 just a resemblance from my observation 😅

KarnEX feels like the Digimon side evolution of Bird Keeper Toby from Pokémon community being british, funny, easy to approach, friendly towards fans, and informative about the franchise but I guess it's impossible for them to collab, lol well, that aside, I think if you have trouble of Digimon who looks like an evolution but in fact on the same level, I think the Slide Evolution works well here

For Ogremon and Tuskmon I think taking the idea of Rebellimon. Instead of a dying Ogremon absorbing trash data around it to survive, it would be a dying Goblimon absorbing data from a dinosaur game or movie like Jurassic Park or World

Trailmon Ball aka Diginorimon to any other Trailmon. Ball is so small compared to the other trains and is in practically every way a thoroughly stripped down Trailmon (kind of like a Tinpet to a Medabot) but it's somehow still a Champion like the rest of them.

Not really related to the video but I saw terriermon and it got me thinking about how much I like the differences between the twin rabbits. One decides to go with more futuristic weaponry like guns until it becomes a giant robot, the other stays with more "traditional" fighting until it becomes god embodying that style.

Expanding what I've said before about if the Digidestined could Super Digivolve or Chou Shinka like Digimon Xros Wars, here's a list of potential Digimon that can work. Not all of these picks are 100%, just a heads up. *Agumon > Mastertyranomon* I would've chosen just Tyrannomon, but there's a reason why it's called Chou Shinka. Agumon has a similar shape to the Tyrannomon line as a whole, and Digivolving into a member from there makes sense when you think about it. *Gabumon > Marsmon* Using the philosophy of Psycmon to Astamon, Gabumon to Marsmon makes sense considering they both seem to have similar fur. *Biyomon > Karatenmon* It's not entirely the best combo out there, surely something like Parrotmon or Garudamon would work better, but for Biyomon to go straight into Ultimate Level, she would turn into this as a start. *Tentomon > Okuwamon* Sounds ridiculous? Well, this has the same philosophy as Dracmon becoming Yhashmon so let's roll with the bug-type level that fits. *Palmon > Blossomon* The floor on Palmon's head could get bigger, nuff said. *Gomamon > Plesiomon* Have you noticed a similar color palette between Gomamon and Plesiomon? Gomamon becoming this trough Super Evolution makes more sense compared to having Plesiomon replacing Vikemon. *Patamon > Pegasusmon* I couldn't think of anything else at the time. *Gatomon > Tobucatmon* It fits the bill somehow, mostly because the cat motif.

Nanimon evolve to BomberNanimon makes a perfect logic for evolutions and Omegamon should evolve into Alter-s but instead it's only just a variant

Some of these remind me of slide evolution I would love to watch season were they adapt this method with tamers partners that would be so cool with maybe a world like xros wars were there are other tamers instead of just the main few that would be cool like a example could be angemon adapts has to adapt to a darker version so it becomes devimon

When I was a kid I thought that Devidramon was an ultimate because I thought it was digivolution of Devimon.

The weird thing about Buraimon to me, is that it looks like a light version of Karatenmon. Almost as if one evolves from Birdramon and the other from Saberdramon. But ultimately it's just a case of digimon designers putting too much weight on the "rule of cool" way too early on, I feel like the only Digimon introduced past 02 (or let's say Tamers, cause I love Guilmon & Impmon) that really felt like they had great designs were the new introductions in Pendulum Z.

Angoramon kinda looks like what I would imagine a jogress of lopmon and terriermon looking like, it has the marks and the ears from terriermon with the main colors of lopmon

I think Ankylomon and Tortomon would be swapped. Tortomon looks like an anklomon Evo more than the other way around. I actually turned this on expecting Karn to bring up Guardromon and Blimpmon again, and I was happy I was right.

For a Solarmon evolution to parallel Hagurumon>Guardromon I prefer Mekanorimon. He's got a similar basic shape and color scheme to Guardromon but he's got a cockpit to take a passenger like Submarimon, so that's cool.

Less than two years later, there I was, wondering why tf my Digimon Story 2 Betamon not only didn't Digievolve to SeaDramon, but also into a, what I thought, Ultimate Digimon. The aforementioned Dark Tyrannomon. Cleary a bigger, meaner, scarrier Tyrannomon.*
