Yo, look up some articles on the pgr weed problem in Australia. It's like concentration of alcohol during prohibition, but instead of higher concentration, it's using carcinogenic plant growth regulators for a denser/heavier product. It's a massive thing over here.

Day 6 quit after 27yrs all day every day. The shame, the lost emotions, the bad dreams, stomach cramps, sweaty palms, constipation, headaches...clearly this is an insidious drug. I had always believed I was treating undiagnosed Bipolar disorder, but now the way my mood and brain feels, It's more likely it was hurting than helping the situation. Looking back now I see how it harmed all my romantic relationships. Made me abstract and unfeeling, unreachable. I realize I have no idea what a clear head even feels like, until now. I've literally spent 100's of thousands of dollars on weed. I only have myself to blame for all of it. I've tried to quit many times before, with no luck. At age 44 I only see the damage it has done. Never too late to start again....I've enjoyed this page in helping me quit. Gratefull i'm not alone coming out of the fog. Stay clear, friends. Especially if you're all or nothing type like me. Plenty of people can enjoy it in moderation, but not all of us.

Thanks for your help. I am a horrible addict for 20 years and this is my first attempt at quitting more than 2 days in over 10 years. I'm an extremely anxious guy so this is really difficult for me. Spent the entire first day yelling out loud in my house, alone. I'm an all day pot smoker & vaper and I consumed a ton. More than a quarter of flower a week plus a 2 gram vape, per week. Extremely expensive. I'm on day two now. About 37 hours in at this point. I've spent over 50K on pot consumption in my life. I think I'm done now. Pot has made me the most frustrated, angry, lonely, unhealthy, and depressed person I never wanted to be.

That's the real deceptive dangerous thing about weed, you can function, absolutely, maybe tired in the AM but that's about it. Alcohol didn't let me work, alcohol turned me into a total social recluse, jobless, etc. I totally understand others can drink daily and manage to function, others will go off the rails on weed alone, its all personal

Helpful video, Dr. Frank! For those who develop a weed addiction, it can indeed lead them down a troubling path. They may neglect important responsibilities, withdraw from loved ones, experience financial difficulties, or even turn to illegal activities to support their habit. The impact on mental health can also be significant, with increased risk of anxiety, depression, and psychosis. With the right help, many people are able to overcome weed addiction and reclaim their lives. Take Care Everyone!👋❤

It's about abusing something and weed is definitely something which you can abuse easily if you start smoking it in high-school. When i was 14-15 i didn't believe that it is a gateway drug, but in fact you are having more and more friends who abuse weed or other drugs and it pulls you in. I know almost noone who started with weed and didn't get into pills or coke after some time. Of course with alcohol it's the same thing but with weed you get into it faster because the people you buy from, will mostly include you in something else. That's my experience tho.

While I agree that it can become a slippery slope I think it greatly depends on the person. Not everyone that is using weed in the evening is going to turn to nicotine and alcohol as well. Moderation is key. I don't think the weed necessarily always leads to other bad habits. That's only if you let the weed affect you like that. I try to form good habits even when I want to use cannabis. I still go to bed on time, still brush my teeth, get my chores done etc. If you let the weed turn you into a degenerate blob then I think that's more on you then the cannabis. Any drug set and setting is important, if weed is doing that to you there's likely something else going on that you aren't addressing.

Day 32 for me, happy to be free of the addiction. Although the sobriety realism is kicking in. I feel like I “have to do something now.” Although I’m not sure what I want to do, I’m speaking in terms creative projects and hobbies. Life can be really boring and I need that action. All these stories of “Once I quit weed, I built/created/etc.” is putting a lot of pressure on me. Really happy about all the money I’m saving though.

I hit carts everyday like a nicotine vape since the beginning of senior year and it just fried my brain to put it simply also risked getting expelled everyday I was the definition of a functional addict, it fried my short term memory and just couldn’t focus am so much clear headed now that I quit can actually focus on a task and retain information and my conversations mean something

I was clean for 6 months and from my experience the urge to use again became more and more. Because I felt bored in some kind of way I suppose. Been in a few therapies where to learn how to overcome my addiction. After this week I will try to quit again.

You can do this! Just make sure to take it day by day and don't set yourself unrealistic expectations. It's not always easy at first but once you're over that and know how to handle the cravings, you're on a good path! Consistency is key because you're not always going to wake up and be healthy but by being consistent, you're making sure you are. In the end, you'll be happy you stayed consistent, especially on those difficult days. I have a channel where I talk about topics like this as I'm 3,033 days sober from multiple addictions and now sharing my own method and stories. This short I made, talks about the importance of consistency and might be useful to you: ru-vid.comIQRVNA7421A I wish you all the best on your journey! You are able to overcome it!

I smoke weed and just sit around all day. I’m sober from it and only had one IPA the other day. My meds I take are helping a little bit. Doing better and yes it’s worth it to be sober. At times I feel like it’s not but lately I’ve been happy without weed and alcohol.

@Wickedone77

I found when i self medicated it made my anxiety way worse. I’m about a month thc free now and my anxiety is still bad but depending on how much you consumed it can take awhile to fully be out of your system. I’m waiting for my first appt for a behavior evaluation for my anxiety and adhd. I’m on a low dose of a new anxiety Med from my primary but we tried a couple different ones and deemed i needed an evaluation from a behavioral specialist as well. These meds help a smidge but not a huge difference. I try to focus on something else whether it be going for a walk or a simple house chore and have been practicing deep breathing exercises and journaling. Having a support system like friends and family help to talk too.

Hey dude, I’ve been following your videos over the past few weeks. I was heavily addicted to weed from the age of 14, I turned 21 yesterday. I spent all my time from these years doing everything you’ve said in this video. The exact same thing. Binging all the same crap, I’d wake up in the middle of the night and vape without even knowing I do it! I’m sick n tired of being sick n tired. This is my second day without weed. Im 10 days without nicotine. I knew I needed to quit weed for my mental healths sakes, but I’ve pushed it away for sooooo long! But then you came into my life…. I found your videos and the way you talk about addiction really changed my mindset. I was stuck in the “I’ll quit next week” mindset for years. I’m 21 years of age now, I’ve wasted my whole life so far to drugs, alcohol and general addiction. I couldn’t quit weed for so many months, and it’s had me on a knife’s edge (wanting to take my life) for a long time. You saved my life. I don’t expect you to ever go through all your individual comments on RU-vid, but from the tiny island of New Zealand, from all the way across the other side of the world - Thank you. Dr Frank, you saved my life. I cannot thank you enough.

My problem is getting off weed (when I tried) ..did not help me get off watching adult media content. So therefor is weed the problem or my watching of adult media content. I don’t know if they are necessarily, or completely linked. Anyone have advice on this? Currently I just pop cbd/light thc edibles and the occasional skinny joint..after kids are to bed and responsibilities are completed. but this porn thing is so difficult to break.

the worst side effect i have ever gotten from weed was just a small headache in the last 20 years of doing it . everything can be an addiction . to me weed is just a medicine and should be used as medicine only . i love that banana punch weed very good taste like banana and helps me get motivated .

Using marijuana for genuine medical reasons pain relief, epilepsy or other neurological reasons such as PTSD, where it is proven to be of benefit is completely understandable, but to simply to use it to escape life and not deal with shit is a bad road to go down and it only delays healing and growth. I have lost friends to this drug who now in their 40's are just hollow and empty versions of themselves. Their growth stopped at the age they picked up this drug.

It’s definitely a rabbit hole that I never wanna go down again. And I don’t believe in moderation for myself either because it’s so addictive for me and I can easily end up back to daily use. Before seeing your videos I had told myself to moderate in the past but anytime I’d buy weed or a cart I would use it daily until I ran out. Then the withdrawals would hit and I would find myself ordering more while sweating and not eating the whole day. I don’t think moderation is something I want to try ever again, and I also have opened my eyes to the harmful health effects of weed and I wanna stay away from it all together because of that too. I HATE WEED!

So you used weed as a source of dopamine instead of using it as a medicine, and in result you had to rely on other sources of dopamine as well (nicotine, alcohol, porn) because the dopamine from the weed wasn't enough, I think the best decision for you was to quit weed because you don't understand how to use it as a tool not a toy. The title should be "what dopamine deprivation does to someone" instead of creating the idea to almost 160K people that weed will cause you to form these habits. Weed is not for everyone and I agree with your statement about what you do everyday snowballs into the next, but you already created the habits of watching porn and consuming other substances throughout your day, weed didn't push those habits or create them, you already started that "rabbit hole".
