This is way more interesting and compelling than Mr Enter accusing Patrick of being a sociopath Yeah I know he hasn't raged about SpongeBob for a while but I still like to poke fun at it
It reminded me of a simpson’s episode where homer discovers that the reason he was dumb is because he had a crayon stuck in his brain, so he cirurgically removes it, becoming really smart. As all of his friends and ever family (aside from lisa) are dumb, he feels lonely when hes smart, so, in order to mantain his relationship and friendships, at the end of the episode, he cirurgically has the crayon put in his brain again.
Very underrated video! I’ve never seen someone talk about Patrick like this before. It’s usually about his stupidity, but never about his freedom. Anyways, I’m subscribing! :)
@@theepic1944In the new episodes, he's like so stupid that he barely counts as a person. To me, he more seems like SpongeBob's pet rather than his friend, which is a terrible direction they went with him
I clicked on this without seeing your subscriber count or the likes and just assumed you were some popular video essayist I didn’t know about cuz it’s that high quality
I loved this character analysis. Interesting to look deeper into a character that is, on surface level, meant to look so simple. Keep up the good work man 👍👍
This was on my auto play and when you mentioned starting out at the end, I was so surprised! I thought this was a well developed channel I hadn’t found yet. I hope you go far ! You seem like such a kind soul. I’d trust you at a party LOL!
Bro , this is the second channel I find , where I swear theyve got this thousands fan base only to find out they're relatively small . You deserve more attention Awesome vid ✌️
10:25 bro 2 weeks to make a well thought out video with great editing it's a reasonable amount of time, don't worry too much about doing a video every week risking to overwork yourself, do the best you can with the time you have and post with the frequency that most fit with your routine and whats going on in your life in the moment without stressing with a fixed schedule, you are doing a great job!
Great Video! if its not too much could you do an analysis on "Mimic Madness?" its one of my favorite modern Spongebob episodes and I believe there might be some deeper meaning behind the episode.
I more likely to believe Patrick's struggles is his parents fault. We know the parents showed up only once in the show, but perhaps they just didn't teach Patrick lessons and cared about him so much to the point of spoiling him. Like, Patrick can't properly read, write or even spell which implies he was very terrible at school and got graduated due to SpongeBob's help. His mood can change rapidly in some moments and he doesn't even notice his actions. And perhaps that's why Patrick can't get a job anywhere officially. Because of that care he grew unprepared for adulthood and he still behaves like a child most of the time. He usually shows up only to suggest SpongeBob to play with him because the other things he can do are either eat, watch TV or sleep every other day. SpongeBob was and is the main string holding him to anything exciting and Patrick tries to feel it all. Because of that he wants to do something on his own, he wants to be an individual, but he just cant and is able to only impersonate his friends life. And talking about friendship with SpongeBob, Patrick is extremely toxic friend. Since "Valentine's Day" he showed selfishness and anger towards his friend and lack of any respect for opinions in "Sandy's Rocket". They may be friends since being babies, but Patrick outright used SpongeBob for his personal needs so many times. How many "friends" who crash into the house to get free food have we seen in media before and after? Patrick doesn't respect SpongeBob's yet alone anyone else's privacy, his hard work and his preferences. He didn't even know what gender SpongeBob is(even without that asexuality stuff it's clear SpongeBob is and considers himself a boy). As one RU-vidr once mentioned Patrick can be called "Weather friend", the one who's always here for fun, but never around when the friend is in trouble. To think, Sandy was usually the one who helped SpongeBob and went through many dangerous adventures with him not showing any annoyance(like in Karate Island she said that SpongeBob will always be the King of Karate in her book even though she was angered by his behavior earlier) I think Patrick just considers his friendship with SpongeBob and his whole life as a giant sandbox where the game can be easily stopped anytime since he always got out of the problems and didn't learn the lesson. And perhaps this carefree lifestyle is Patrick's way to forget about his sorrow about everybody he knows is valuable and skilled at something. Even Plankton despite his many failures is still a talented engineer, scientist and quite a talented speaker since he can get customers attention just as much as Krabs. I like to believe "Patrick Star Show" is Patrick's fantasy and a way to get out of real problems where he can do everything and his every failure wont have any consequences, the only thing he kept is his friends like SpongeBob and Sandy who are always supportive and in a way inspired by him. I'm being honest, Patrick is my least favorite main character in the show. Yes, other characters had bad episodes with terrible behavior like Krabs in "One Coarse Meal" or Sandy in "Squirrel Jelly", but Patrick's ones irked me the most and made me hate for a long time. Nevertheless, Patrick Star is the embodiment of absence of personal way in life, he may have a big heart and good intentions, but listed sins always stop him from developing. He wants to be respected, but in the end he always described as big pink loser. All he really needs at first is expressing the challenges of adult life and learning to respect things, people around him and the life itself. He is the cycle of passion towards self-improvement and inability to admit to himself that he has problems and laziness to start the improvement and that's something a lot of people struggle with, especially nowadays in the era of luxury and availability when we've already forgotten about many things our ancestors could do.
Yeah that’s a pretty good take, I still like Patrick and I do find that he sticks around a lot for some difficult moments and I am pretty sure it’s all his parents fault tbh:)
@goofygoobergroup just forgot to mention. I don't have a full list of SpongeBob centric episodes of the top of my head, but I'm pretty sure "Ripped Pants" should be included. Even though it was originally supposed to be a romance episode there's so much saying about how much SpongeBob seeks attention and appreciation from people to the point that he is ready to humiliate himself without understanding the boundaries.
That’s the dumbest take for the character I have ever heard. We are seriously going to say that the parents are at fault for this? You are viewing this as if there is a psychological viewpoint for the situation but there isn’t! Why? Because random stuff is always down randomly on this show for the sake of comedy. Not to mention that Patrick is one of those characters that follow the dumb trope of them being smarter in the first season and then get severely dumber the next season because the audience knows that character best as an idiot so the writers make that character an idiot to give the audience what they want and are familiar with; in turn, the writers don’t need to make a complex character out of Patrick. There is no psychological perspective in why Patrick is the way that he is; the writers simply made him this way for comedic purposes and know that is what the audience know him best as. The audience come watch the show to be entertained by Patrick’s stupidity, they watch the show, they watch the show, the show gets more ratings, the show gets more ratings and the producers of SpongeBob make money
@francostevo9939 Judging by this logic, all SpongeBob analysis videos are pointless since everything is just for comedy. Don't you think most of us can do this just for fun? It's not like we watch the whole show 24/7 trying to find evidences and facts. For example, even though it's dead story, I still ship SpongeBob and Sandy. It was never canon in the show and Stephen always denied it, but I along with a lot of people find hints in episodes, books and games. It's not for the sake of shouting "It's canon", it's just a way to spend time entertaining ourselves. I like the wedding scene in Truth or Square not because the priest was real thus it's canon, I like to rewatch it because it was an adorable moment for my taste
61 people is a lot of people! the internet warps our perception of how big numbers really are. if you got a room and put 61 people in it and they all supported you, that's insane! 61 people all in a room supporting you, that would be amazing. the internet has no rooms like that, except maybe chat rooms, so it's hard to conceptualize. i'm glad you have a positive outlook and i think you can only go up from here.
i think pearl doesn't get much coverage. idk if that's just because she's not given much purpose in the show, or if she's just overshadowed by other characters.
I saw the thumb nail and it looks a lot like the first time you see the darkness devil in chainsaw man was that your inspiration or was it something different.
