I think my favorite part of this is seeing Geno regretting how much he knows every time he starts to explain something.

Although Geno looks pretty young you can tell this whole thing has aged him like 50 years

The utter ridiculousness of having to clarify in which dimension is Chris married to Mewtwo absolutely sent me. The reality stone is wasted on Thanos.

As the parent of a high functioning autistic 15yro son, I'm at a loss for how Chris Chan was raised. 😯 it definitely comes down to parenting and explaining things in a way the kid understands. It's hard but as said earlier, the parents just avoided this. I took classes for over a year to learn ways to communicate, explain and teach decision making skills to prepare my son for adulthood. 😔 sad.

He looks like he may have been broken, or took on a certain type of sadness from the burden of accumulating the amount of daunting information that comes with Chris Chan and his multiple realities. I think the only good thing that ever came out of christory was Liquid Chris. He had his fun, made people laugh, moved on with his life and ended up being an oncologist. Everything else revolving around Chris Chan was a garbage fire.

There were times through this episode where you could relate to Chris (e.i obsession with fiction, bad upbringing, bullying etc.) but you hear the next thing he does and you feel better about yourself for once.

The number of times that Garnt and Joey overlap their sentences is getting worrying. It won't be long before they morph into a single being.

58:40 I genuinely think that Geno’s coverage of Chris Chan is ultimately a good thing. It’s by far the healthiest way to consume this kind of content, and because of how thorough it is, less people are gonna feel inclined to become part of this messed up Chris Chan community out of morbid curiosity.

After watching the entire documentary many, many times, I am completely convinced that even without the trolls Chris was destined to be a bad person. There are so many examples of him doing completely inexcusable things without the involvement of any trolls, i.e his harassment of Megan, him wishing death upon Adam Stackhouse, him saying he should sexually assault his church councilor, him running over Michael Snyder, etc. The trolls are without a doubt responsible for his completely fucked view of reality, but that doesn't change the fact that Chris has always been a bad person.

Had to rewatch Ladybeard episode for his immense positive energy to cleanse my soul after this one

just listening to this podcast is just a constant roller coaster of "he tried to make amends for his actions, He then tried to commit vehicular manslaughter"

This is one of the most rewatchable episodes in Trash Taste history. They found a guest outside their field and made it an interesting and engaging conversation

The thing is it's a LOT more than just autism. Chris has a whole slew of disorders, intellectual disabilities, and mental illnesses all of which were greatly amplified by the constant torture Chris was put through to the point where Chris isn't even living in reality anymore (not to mention how hyper susceptible Chris is to the influence of others). Obviously Chris has done a lot of appalling things, but there's no doubt in my mind Chris would have not ended up that way if Chris had a stable upbringing and had not been put through such hell online. I've never seen a better example of how horribly the internet can twist people both Chris and Chris' abusers; and I can't even fathom how pathetic the people who participated in Chris' torturing had to have been to go to such a level to feel better about their own miserable lives. On all fronts it's just a really depressing situation.

What I like about this Episode is that we get to see Geno's honest take on Chris-chan, obviously i appreciate his neutral take in his Comprehensive series but it's still niceto hear.

It's kinda sad that Geno started off the podcast saying he wish he wasn't known only as the "Chris Chan guy" and then the rest of the podcast is just about Chris Chan and not about Geno. The guy only got 11 min to talk about himself.

I stopped following Chris' story after his dad died. I came back when he pepper sprayed a gamestop employee because he was angry about the color of sonics arms.

This shows how parenting really matters in the earlier stages of life no matter if you have a mental illness or any illness if you have zero support from your own parents from the start then they are not ready to care for a child

I love how this is probably the only trash taste episode in which Connor prepared the most information about a talking point/subject.

Chris Chan reminds me of how I acted in elementary school. I also have high functioning autism, previously Asperger's, and I could've easily turned out like her if I didn't meet my current friends and girlfriend. I owe my entire social life and personality to them, they basically saved me from myself. Chris Chan is far past the point of being saved, she missed her redemption too many times, there's no hope for her.

I think Geno's documentation of Chris's life is very important as a case study . Like it shows what's wrong with a lot of things (internet , parenting , people, media). You can literally pick any topic and you'd find chris delving into it. A lot of lessons should be learned from this. Be nice on the internet guys , it's not that hard (I know it's like screaming into the void at this point but should be said)

I can just tell Garnt is thinking "get me outta here" throughout this entire episode. Those reactions are utterly priceless.

Chrischan recently was released from prison after 2 years and is out again. TurkeyTom just released a 3 hours documentary which covers a bit before chrischan was born up until their recent release. It's a good primer if you don't want to jump into geno's right away (which is like 75 episodes now) Chrischan is a few years older than me, so i got to witness all this stuff as it was happening. The way i found out about it was on 4chan's /v/ideo game board, where sonichu was the original template for the "Original Character Do Not Steal" meme. And then from there i found the videos and the encyclopedia dramatica page. Just a few things i want to add for people who maybe confused or just don't understand a few things: 1. Chrischan constantly doxxed themselves. Giving out their address, phone number, email, passwords etc That's why there's sooo much information out, and he primarily talked to people through email, so that's why that's all documented. 2. They're basically the poster child for what we would call "Terminally Online" now. Also they were getting catfished before catfishing was a thing, and he fell for it over 10+ times 3. This wasn't brought up (because there is so much) but chris had originally made a "fake" account on essentially a "fake" forum that other people had set up that would lead him to believe that he had stumbled across the trolls main website. On this fake account he did an introduction and said he lived across the street from chrischan and would try and take videos/pictures of him leaving the house. The disturbing part is they went on a huge tangent during their introduction about how when they were 7 they were rigorously molested by 2 older boys at a bible camp. There's no reason to mention that, and he never mentions it again, but i do personally believe that probably happened, and that kind of explains his hyper sexuality and his hatred of men and his obsession with women leading toward him wanting to be a woman. 4. He was diagnosed with autism at a young age, but this was in the 80's, and they didn't know shit about it really, so they put him on paxil, which is one of the strongest SSRI's you can be put on and it's believed by other therapists and psychiatrists that was probably not a good thing to be on. Everyone is right about the internet being the wild west in late 90's early 00's. And chrischan really had no idea how the internet worked. And it's a lesson you need to teach your kids. I have a younger teenager. I monitor a lot of his shit, we've had lots of talks about not ever giving out their information, or sending nudes. I pretty much told him if you post shit online it's going to be there forever. And chrischan is a great example of this because his information was publicly available, for everyone to see, to use against him, and he thought was an internet celebrity for a while and not an internet failure. So yeah, keep your kids in check.

I’ve come back to this episode several times since it aired and I can never quite figure out why. Is it because I enjoy the boys reaction to some of stories? Is it because I’m so intrigued about Chris? Is it because I’m so disgusted of Chris? Is it because Geno’s voice is quite relaxing? Do I get some sort of sick enjoyment out of hearing about the terrible stories of Chris? I can never figure it out, but I still always feel the same levels of disgust that I felt when I first heard about the terrible stories of Chris. I think is a great episode in of itself, even though I feel that maybe sometimes the boys don’t quite handle the conversation about Chris in the best way possible, however it is still a great episode regardless and I’m sure to revisit it sometime in the future.

As someone born with 1 hand, for me my mother taught me to not care what others thought. I wish Chris had this kind of guidance, rather than being told the whole world is against you. THAT maybe would have messed me up... I'm cynical enough with a positive outlook, i can only imagine.

When the Chris Chan story us all said and done, Geno is very likely going to need all the therapy in the world. The documentary is 40 hours but imagine how much he had to watch of Chris. All the hours of listening to his ramblings and his videos to do the subtitles. The only hero of the Chris Chan saga is is Geno for putting his sanity in the line for us

Geno Samuel is probably the last person I would think to be a guest on Trash Taste. His appearance was a pleasant suprise when this showed up in my feed.

So...I work with individuals with autism. All these idiosyncrasies - the obsession with nostalgia, insistence on inappropriate touching with friends/inability to express romantic feelings appropriately, falling for obvious lies, using racial slurs, literally ALL of what makes their behavior 'odd' are symptoms of autism. They are 'tics' that have to be worked on, almost like really bad habits. With early intervention and lifelong help, you can function in life quite well. I wish they could have gotten that help.

As someone who has autism themselves I do kinda understand Chris as it is very difficult for some, including me, to actually know what's appropriate and what's not and I certainly have said and done some heinous shit in my life. What baffles me is that their parents just never did anything to teach them. I mean autism shouldn't be an excuse for hit and run when raised even by a mediocre parent let alone the more recent stuff.

There's actually something VERY similar on the internet. In Germany we have a guy who calls himself ''Drachenlord'' (Dragon lord). So basically he leaked his home adress around 8 years ago, and ever since then there's this thing called the ''Drachengame'', where people would constantly harass him, both on the internet and in front of his house. Ever since then, pretty much everything he does has been documented online.

Guys do yourself and Geno a favor. Check out his music and Yokai documentaries. This guy is talented, I was surprised by his voice especially cause of the tone he has on the podcast.

I feel bad for Geno, this has had to have effected his own mental health - Chris Chan's story is so heartbreaking and alarming on so many levels-so many have failed them, especially in their earlier years that may have prevented many things as they grew into adulthood

At first when i found about chris chan, i thought his life was a comedy later i began to realize it was a tragedy.

I feel kinda bad for Geno. "I'd like to be known for other things besides documenting Chris Chan" and then proceeds to be accidentally referred to as Chris multiple times, which is. So much worse. And then getting contacted for a real life streaming service documentary, where the normal non-internet addicts can see it. He's going to be known as the Chris Chan guy even more. You know when documentaries bring in someone to talk about the subject and it's like "Name Of Person, Role/Occupation related to subject," his should just inexplicably be "Musician" or "Yokai Enthusiast" or just something completely different from "Internet Christorian"

This is morbidly the only episode where the boys don't argue, and agree on EVERYTHING. Insane episode.

I'm halfway through my rewatch of Geno's series and glad I found this. Makes me feel slightly more sane.
