Now this ain't your typical Isekai Manga. 😅 Had to include a viewer discretion for this one it really starts getting real dark further and further in the video.. manga name - Tʜᴇ Sᴀɢᴀ ᴏғ Lɪᴏɴᴄᴏᴜʀᴛ
*Your use of big Black Censor Blocks RUINS the flow if the story If it is good enough to pass the Censorship to be PUBLISHED... THEN SHOW THE FULL PAGES!*
Only part way in, but I do like how the MC wasn't a typical loser in his previous life. He had a wife and two kids, and lived a normal family man, something many aspire to have.
yeah, he's backstory is as normal as it is, a normal guy who didn't appreciate his life until the last moment, did some mistakes but its not as heavy as the other isekai characters ive read who's a literal scumbag in their last life
Not to mention the fact that just because you are sent to another world doesn’t make your personality magically change either. So many typical Isekai protagonists that are losers or Neets or whatnot, just INSTANTLY become brave helpful and social butterflies when arriving in their new world(basically the exact opposite of how they acted EVERYDAY before they isekaied). It’s really dumb, that and people in their late 20s-30s awakening in child’s bodies when reincarnating in the new world and just IMMEDIATELY acting like children instead of their internal age(sure if they don’t want to be seen as weird you should act a bit “your body’s age” but then you have these protagonists that basically regress mentally instead of making mature or even GENERALLY thought out decisions). Sorry for the rant, Isekai mangas have become so copy and paste that many authors basically end up copying the troupes of Arrested Development(the condition not the show lol) and inconsistent personality development. The one reason I liked Mushoku Tensei is because this issue was addressed and built onto to develop the MCs character and help him grow from his Neet and dark past.
@bozman2007 it makes plenty sense. Many isekaied people either start over from birth, start in survival mode, or are born into a rich family. Your mind has to adapt somehow to your new surroundings. Also, the vast majority don't change much at all.
@@bozman2007 That's because Isekai writers are largely Neets and their social development is on the level of a child. That's all they know and all they can write. It's quite literally a fantasy of theirs to live in a world where they can be a child again and have everything just work out for them.
fun fact about butlers originally butlers were chosen out of either partially crippled or older veteran soldiers that proved their loyalty, it was a way to allow talented men to continue serving the house but in a diminished fashion come ww1 many aristocrats would select a butler while at war from brave and loyal men and that's when you started to see 20-30 year old butlers start cropping up now the concept of a butler is just a male maid unfortunately but the reason butlers have the stereotype of being weirdly strong is because traditionally they were all ex soldiers who had quite a fair bit of combat experience
@@FinnishCrystal oh, yeah I know; I meant that instead of the journey for inner peace even when the world pushes the MC to kill, this goes the other way around. And of course, not being an isekai.
They got the slavery bit correct. In most societies with slavery (except the muslim ones) Harming, or murdering your slave was a crime. They needed laws like this to prevent slave revolts. It gets weird when you get into roman slavery and discover that some of the wealthiest people in the city of Rome were slaves.
to me this story was just an edgy mess, one of irrational characters trying to be "cruel and gruesome" while also being "kind and humane" in ways that kept contradicting the character writting, that and the story seems to be going nowhere. im not just talking out of my ass, an example of this type of story done right can be found in "what do you see with those murky eyes" where the main character can be seen losing his humanity rather than just switching it on and off whenever it's convenient for the writer.
which is even more messed up when so many times a bunch of high schoolers are being summomed. don't get me too wrong, its a story we read but logically it is a braindead logic and rather immersion breaking when it is done to fill a "highschooler" category instead of real story
@@The-Do-It-All-Badger you can have a fantasy writing without a bunch of a bunch highschoolers. like gawd damn. jokes aside but seriously, I think for me, it's about time to stop* reading these unless it's actual grown protagonists because I feel like reading these is slightly damaging to maturity development.
What I like about the protagonist is he's not a cold-blooded killing machine despite his brutal actions. He know that it must be done no matter what because of the risk of their side losing side.
I know it is a few months old, the video but just wanted to say I actually just sat and listened through this without so much a distraction. I'd totally be down to see a part 2 or more of this because it's a real comfy vibe just listening with your narration and the music selection.
A bit of a correction, He didn't "Suplex" him. In judo or Jiu Jitsu, that would most likely be a "seoi nage" or a one armed shoulder throw from what I could see.
Finally! A good STORY! Not another of those crappy isekais withouth any thought, only power creeping, that have been popping up lately... Thank you so much for this recaps, it's an amazing manga and the narration was on point!
Action toon remember that anime where the guy wanted death but couldn’t die even if he tried, please continue that one also your like the only recap channel that has multiple good recaps not just like one, your special 😊
18:00 Ah, Bright Slapped into embracing the rules of the world ... LOVE IT!!! MCs that want to force our values in other worlds despite evidence that wont fly are annoying. I prefer a more Practical approach
This is such an interesting story Fells like I'm watching villand saga with out any spoilers . It feels like a story toled to me by a person with the coolest voice I've ever heard feels like a story of legends ancient times just gets busted by the method of story telling I need more please
Man, im still mad that I found the Highserk War manga, which has been relaesing chapters since 2022, and I wanted to binge read it and reached the current chapter so fast, because there only are 16 so far... I hope this is not the same.
*31:14* NOTE: For anyone curious, the video skipped a section from the manga here, where the MC and his friends are half-forced by Albert (scary butler) to commit r*pe on peasant village girls from the enemy territory as a twisted 'rite of passage' into adulthood.
That young lad is going to make big he just has to keep moving forward thank you ActionToon definitely looking forward to part 2 and please keep up the great work as always.😊👍
The brutal world completely dehumanized him. Worse, it actually normalized atrocity while allowing him to be seen as a good guy. Because he actually treated his men well. And that was the way things actually were. There was this Viking who was mocked by his fellows and called the children lover, because he would not throw babies up in the air and catch them with the point of his spear.
The vibe this manga gives me is the same as Rᴇᴄᴏʀᴅ ᴏғ Hɪɢʜsᴇʀᴋ Wᴀʀ, only difference being is that it doesn't have magic. But the feel is the same....a harsh and unforgiving world with few fleeting moments of calm before the next skirmish
"pffft, you think you can scare me?" 10 minutes in, It softened me up so I'm shitting me pants thinking about it going dark, so I'm gonna save myself some. Not today satan.
Yeah that shxx is gross 😂 No i dont like beserk No i dont like Op protagonist No i dont give a fxxx about how you like this manga What are you going to do about it????
This really seems to be inspired by the mangaka reading about Sparta, doing things like killing animals and slaves and raiding helots as rites of passage. Interesting story.
when theres one it would be watered down ike "Kingdom".. in the manga Kingdom blood, guts are flying in the battles.. anime? PG13 blood close to none existent, guts never shown just blacked out
29:26 thats not a suplex. It's some type of judo hip toss. Suplex is the throw that is used for comedy somewhat often in anime/manga. Its where you grab someone around the waist from behind and bridge backwards like you are trying to do a back hand spring.
Not everyone’s cup of tea, specially because of how realistic it can be in terms of the brutality of war and human desires. I just hope most stories learn from the writing of this manga. Good pacing, world building and most dialogue makes sense. It’s good to have a manga or story that breaks and isn’t afraid of straying from modern norms, where most controversial BUT real topics and happenstances are used.
I'm fine with it, it's set in a fantasy setting, most of our BS morals are modern. That stuff was done universally for a very long periods of history, the aversion your feel is basically just modern morality from the 20th century. Also i prefer this to wimpy, weak, whiny, goody two shoes, naive idealistic pathetic protagonists in most manga.
@@AlexBrown230 Its just not my cup of tea. It was interesting seeing the MC challenge his modern self and his self in the medieval era, but it got worse over time. You like it? You read it. Fine by me and power to you. But to call our modern morals BS and to justify it with humans have been doing it for a long time is BS. The same excuse has been used for other things such as slavery in the USA, traditional gender roles for men and women. Its just a crummy excuse to not want to change.
Why would the enemies bot follow their retreat? Seems weird to just let them recuperate and reassess without any penalty. Anyone can just have free "time-outs" whenever they want?
@@shaggy-wb1yn He did know how to make some/most of the things he mentioned, and likely they'll start to be built as he becomes a leader. He did already use what medical knowledge he was aware of to help save soldier's lives.
The story started nice, but when you want to write a medievalesque feudal fantasy, maybe learn how medieval warfare looked like and worked? And if you can't, maybe refrain from lengthy batalistic parts... I stopped watching at the first battle as it was awful and unfit even pre-ancient warfare. Cavemen had more structure and tactics...
