I read the novel and his name is never mentioned which I really like, and the author only letting you guess at his identity, or previous life is a really great decision, through-out the novel I had multiple different theories on what his backstory could have been

He's a master manipulator, liar, and wordsmith who'll stop at nothing to survive. Plus he literally has 3 of the most powerful people in the world around him Constantly

The writer lacks knowledge that salt is a necessary nutrient which even animals seek out. No one is that backwards.

Eh, I just try to look at every fantasy world as operating on entirely different rules. For all we know, in this entirely different world that is similar to ours, salt isn't a necessary part of biology. They may not even be breathing the oxygen in the air, but the nitrogen. Maybe the literacy in their world is 100%. Maybe everyone has a very low level of subconscious magic they use for day to day things like soothing aching muscles, or righting their balance. Who knows. It helps with the suspension of disbelief until the writer figures out the rules of the world themselves, usually as they become plot relevant. And really, a world that hasn't figured out spices isn't that unrealistic. Just look at British food. Nary a cracked pepper corn to be seen for miles.

Not to the point it was completely unobtainable in any specific country, but no one who didn't have a fat wallet wasn't about to come across it anytime soon, at least if you don't count the people in Africa who literally used rock salt as currency.

MC is all bark but no bite, don't even know why he is participating in fights. There's some bullshit magic here, it just makes sense. Rather than the annoying so op MC, he's the annoying so weak MC. Every good manga has understanding, but this just looks any smart person didn't exist so that this MC can have the spotlight.

Wolfe's name is most likely pronounced like wool-fae as the e is mostlikely just a regular e sound as the o in Wolfe is already a hard sound so it's not silent it could also be pronounced as Wolfy as there are situations in the English language that are pronounced like that but that's unlikely as the material it comes from is not originally english so normal english rules likely don't apply. Though in some chapters her name is Wolfie in this case it is evident that her name is pronounced wolfy as ie is a usually used as an English thing In popular media meaning it follows normal English rules
