Just got the 4th edition. The guidebook is a must even if we can only get pdf right now 😢. Everything is explained including reasoning of 3 of pents from: this card is an homage to Leon Spillaert’s work of the early 20th century. The Eight of Wands depicts a nude man shooting an arrow from a bow. He has a branch next to him, and seven others floating above his head, forming the shape of a halo. Should he need the ammunition, they are available to him when he is ready. These symbolize the idea of communication through efficiency. The river in which he stands represents the flow of time, and he shoots an arrow from the left to the right, demonstrating the path forward in time. The archer invokes a facet of the Greek god, Hermes, messenger to the gods and ruler of athletes.
Temperance: The blurred face is a hint to crowleys double faced art card, i think. Its the tension between mixture and incompatibility. The woman on the card is mixing the alchemistical elements with her whole presence, i think. As inside, so outside.
Excellent walkthrough. I like your attention to details. Yes, I added this deck to my collection. The deluxe edition has SOLD OUT!!! Thank you Kelly!🌺 PS....One needs clothing in the summer------> mosquitos!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the walkthrough and you are very welcome! I had seen that the deluxe edition was sold out, though I believe (don't quote me on it) that it will come back.
Hi Kelly he does have a pdf file guide book you can download. You may already know that. I love this deck will have to get it for sure after watching your video and Simone’s it is on the top of my list.
Ooo I did not know that, I'll have to look it up though it reads so easily, I have been using this since I got it, it's become a main deck for me, love it!
If anybody is interested, there's a secret promo code to get a hell of a discount for this deck, but you have to guess the code through a hint given by the creator and I guess it won't last long! Go see the Facebook or Instagram page of the deck :)
I love the review as alwats. Thank you :) and the video using it in a reading with the fountain tarot was brilliant! I was set to buy it but then started reading all the not so good info on the card stock & poor printing process & bacjed out of the purchase. So it'll stay on my *maybe later* back burner. So nice to have so much info about devks since they cost a lot ;) Ty again for your work. ::: hugs::::
I received the cards today. The images are wonderful. I'm picky about cardstock too & I'm really disappointed with these. The cardstock is thin printed cardboard. There seems to be little if any sealant on them. One of the extra "Thank You" type cards was already dinged pretty bad on the edges coming out of the box. I'm going to edge the sides. If that doesn't satisfy me, I'm going to try spraying them with some clear sealant (never tried this before). Its really a shame the cardstock is so bad on these beautiful cards because I love the artwork.
Nine of Coins is YOU Kelly...wearing that Kelly Green Dress going to the Renaissance festival. By the way traditionally Cups are Summer as the seasons go by Cardinals...and I will be doing the same for mine. However Swords should be Winter...like you have pointed out.
I will be happy to be the 9 of Coins :D I need to pull out my old Renaissance festival pictures all dressed up :D And yes, I know that there are many ways to read the seasons, I do like that the colors of the Cups and Wands don't completely lock it in if someone (like myself) has a strong affinity to the opposite, bonus! :D
Kelly I just got my deck it look beautiful when I watched you but the deck is so much more beautiful in person. Of course I blackened the edges. Love it that you for the reviews you do, you are so in-depth with your reviews it helps me make a decision.
I'm kind of shocked that you picked up this deck to be honest. I did a live walk through of this deck but I didn't review the deck. I agree with the card stock and I had a problem with one of the cards with the printing on the back (it wasn't bad enough to make a stick about). I blacked my edges instantly as well. Their are some cards that are outstanding renditions of the RWS.
Question: Is your mention of photo-manipulation, as a criterion when looking at decks, a personal preference about art. Or do you feel there is more affected with the deck with it?
I saw this and HAD to order it. Got it today. WOW! love it. How would you suggest to blacken the edges? thanks I think they would look better in black as well...
Well, your review and light & shadow reading made me purchase this deck, and now I also want the Fountain tarot which didn't previously call to me. Thaaaaankkkss ;) :D
This deck arrived and I absolutely love it, it might be my new favorite. I wouldn't have known about it without this review, so a genuine THANKS! :D (and the Fountain tarot is arriving later this week... )
I've been eyeing this deck for a week, and your review helps so much! Thanks for this. It's a gorgeous deck! Would you say this has the same energy as Fountain Tarot?
You are very welcome, I'm glad that it helps! No, I wouldn't say it has the same energy, they feel like different points on the same spectrum... like you can feel the Fountain energy in the brightest points of the Darkness cards and see a hint of the Darkness cards in the shadows of the Fountain. But that's just my first impression! :)
