Carjackings are a major problem in the Twin Cities. Hundreds of victims are dealing with the trauma. What's happening to solve the crimes? And who's committing them? WCCO's Jennifer Mayerle spent weeks asking those questions.
Why are so few being charged?? Because the fkn prosecutors do not want to prosecute b lack youth. The color does not matter. If your out there sticking a gun in peoples faces, you need to be charged as an adult and to the fullest extent of the law.
No one wants to work for Minneapolis. Do you see the outrage after Amir Locke pulled his gun on police. What was he doing associating with people who had a murder warrant out for them.

It's too bad that WCCO refuses to say who's doing this. It's still the same old "persons wearing clothing" as usual. I think there's probably a lot of people who could tell us who's committing these crimes, but their lips have been sealed.
Part of our Inmates Running The Assylum Program. Another reason why ALL eligible Minnesotans should purchase a handgun and take a carry course. WTH, reduced sentences, plea deals. Malicious Compliance, rewrite the playbook: minimum 6-months jail (ideally far far away), restitution to vehicle owner, the immediate family denied ANY Government benefits (rent, food, medical, cash, disability) for 5 years.
Start recalling politicians, beginning with DAs and don't stop until things change. If your state doesn't allow recalls the governor usually has the power to fire people. Start badgering him like you're Bart Simpson, "Can we have a pool dad? Can we have a pool dad?......". Isn't Walz up for reelection? Make it clear that law and order are required for that to happen. Take action!
This is the data I've been waiting for. It's time to repeal the distracted driving law with regard to use of cell phones and it's penalties. I want my people to have a fighting chance to call for help or get a recording of these urban terrorists, who is accosting drivers at the Stop Sign.

What percent of the vehicles were recovered? Knowing where they end up (sold for parts, abandoned after a joyride, etc) could he helpful to figure out how to solve the problem
Yep, I’ve had to have “the talk” with my kids. Don’t get caught by thugs, while driving white in Minneapolis. In fact, just stay out of “those” neighborhoods.
If the city doesn't get this stopped, then street justice will rear it's ugly head. People will die, because the city pushed too far, by doing nothing about it. I can see this happening very soon. Makes no difference how old they are. Their activities, will be their downfall. People will do what is necessary to protect themselves. Since the Mayor won't do anything to stop it. This has never happened before in our city. Recall the Mayor may be a remedy.
Well, I have to give ‘CCO credit for trying to do some reporting on this but the obvious takeaway here is that you’ve got a big carjacking problem in Minneapolis that’s only likely to get worse. The core political constituency living within the city has a high tolerance for this type of crime, less empathy towards victims than they do those committing the thefts and a strong animosity for law enforcement. Those are the ingredients for a more explosive powder keg, not a safer, brighter tomorrow.
Hmm...is there anything else you might be able to tell us about these cases? Like some common denominator that runs thru the vast majority of them? You know, something that your loyal viewers could be on the look out for that would help them avoid a life changing event? Can't you think of anything?
My suggestion is to get a carry permit. Have the gun ready to hand in the car. When someone approaches pointing a gun at you, you have a legal right to fire at them in self-defense. When enough of the jackers end up dead or in the hospital there will be far fewer car jackings. My youngest son lives just off Franklin avenue in Minneapolis. When I next visit him I will be carrying my (.45) Glock.
Hah! _"Who's committing these carjackings?"_ You know-everyone knows-exactly who's committing the carjackings. The same people who are committing the crimes against Asians. The same people who write rap songs about both crimes.
