In this video we're reviewing the Russian Dative Case. The primary function of the Dative Case is to indicate the indirect object of the sentence. Taken very literally, the indirect object is typically the person who "receives" the direct object or benefits from (or is impacted by) the action of the sentence. The Dative Case is also used with many "verbs of communication" (i.e. сказать and звонить, as discussed in the video). Stay tuned for more videos discussing plural forms, adjectives, and much more!

Я дал маме собаку ✅ Я дал собаке маму ❌ (better not feed my mother to the dog haha) Я подарил мужу сына Я подарил жене кота (If I remember correctly, accusative case for animated masculine objects get the same ending as in Genitiv case, right? So -a) Я купил дочере (или дочери?) новый компьютер. Эти правильно?

Yes, certainly мы даём собаку маме, and not the other way round :) Everything else is correct, except it would be "Я подарилА мужу сына" (fem. past) "Дочери" is the correct spelling, just like "матери" (to/for one's mother). Молодец! :)
