Today, we've let the ducks out to explore for the first time and Goldie and Scrooge were ever so brave! They explored between all the stables and all the ducks met Max the Pony as he decided he wanted to hang out in their stall! The ducks even checked out Max's stable - they decided not to switch though! We also put a paddling pool out for the ducks today, but they've yet to try it out - maybe tomorrow. The chicks got a new cage to continue growing in today, which we'll show off in tomorrow's update video. The Cuckoo Marans are now starting to grow their feathers in, they'll need their heat lamp less and less. However, with their growth comes knowing that some of them are roosters and so we can't keep the roosters. They'll be going back to Pilling Countryside Poultry, where they will be well looked after, to be swapped out for some hens. We don't want to encourage incest between our chickens, so it's the best thing to do. We also don't want to immediately start breeding the chickens, so we aren't in a rush for a rooster. The aim is for all the animals to be happy and healthy first, and then we can start looking into creating more baby chicks.
