So he's the eldest brother of the Volkihar Knight, the apprentice of the Redoran Swordmaster and a friend of the Sunfire Herald.... The lore is getting deeper and I love it!
*The raid on Volkihar Castle raged on in the background, the Dawnguard finally getting a major foothold and were able to breech the defenses, the Dawn Knight runs in steadfast in the name of Stendarr and the world, cutting down the vile undead in his path, when he reached the throne room he notices the already dead body of his main enemy, Lord Harkon, on the ground next to the throne, a dark crimson armored knight sits on the throne with a blade of blood to his side and his helmet on the other, he walks out and the Dawn Knight is shocked at the sight* "Brother....."
What about a mix of both he serves the light but uses the darkness when he truly needs it because not all things are black and white so he can be the middle brother called the dusk knight or dusk wander fighting for the light but uses the darkness to beat other dark creatures
Ya something like that because the eldest is the light because it's his job/role to protect the weak and little. The little brother was the weakest of them so he looks for power to not be weak anymore and the middle brother hates to see what his brothers become because he knows someday thay will meet and when they do only one will live so he tries to learn how to both be light and dark but in the end he has to go down a path of spare them both or kill if they don't see
Sorry for the long text it's just a good opportunity for it because it will show that even a band of brothers can have the same orgin but have a diffrent path
If you wanna add to the lore and explain how all of these character you've created end up as dragonborn you could say a dragonbreak occured at the point of Alduins return splitting the timeline into where each one becomes dragonborn.
Skypotheosis: "our favorite part of every build, the special moves" Me: "can't wait to see how they incorporate their other builds into the backstory/roleplay."
@@phantomglitch6922 nah because the trio is focusing around the dawnguard content and they all were light armor with guard helmet, so I'm tempted to say he's gonna be based on the forgotten veil over anything else
I absolutely love this. The connection to the Volkihar Knight is great, and as someone who plays melee builds with Restoration, this is totally my thing. I like the emphasis on stamina regen to fuel the Rune Shield. Gives it a purpose that otherwise could be covered by vegetable soup. The use of greatsword and shield is great, mixes up the gameplay a bit. This guy could actually use the Rune Axe and Runehammer as well. Surely the stamina regen would synergise so well with rune hammer bashes? I think Alteration would likely need to be taken to get this guy up and running on Legendary difficulty. Magic resist, and a much needed armor buff go a long way. Especially as he takes the Lady stone, and not the Lord stone. Love this character, the story, the cinematics, everything. One of my absolute favourites, and that's saying something.
Lovely! This idea you guys are executing with interaction between characters you’ve made before is very immersive from the story telling POV and I can’t get enough it
I really love the concept of a character who can switch between a defensive mode and a aggresive mode and which the gameplay is all about the balance of these two. It's really appealing to me and to have started a playtrought with this guy, a blast to play at the very beggining of the game. It's a build which can charge in a group of ennemies but still require thought to not be destroyed. My favorite builds of yours are the one who require thought and strategy to be effective like The Saxhleel Vagabond or The Whiteskull Warlock and i think this guy is a serious candidate for my personal top 5 ! Because it can be fun to play on automatic pilot, but never on the long term. Great build and great video ! I can't wai't to see what you have in store for next week, this character is really encouraging for the rest of the season !
Highlight of my day. 😃 On the Swordmaster video, I mentioned there was potential for playing the prideful student on a journey to better himself. And here we are! It's a testament to the Swordmaster's backstory creating that intuitive potential for another character (though this build may have already been around when that one was conceived). I've been thinking of playing a character along these lines recently, albeit with an outfit that would throw off the armor perks, so I may have to save that. I love the inclusion of the rune shield and the associated focus on stamina. That, along with the greatsword, is a nice way for the Knight to honor his mentor.
Just a tip for anyone making a Shield Using Build, Deflect Arrows maxes your shield defense, so there's no reason to invest more than 1 perk in shield wall :)
I love the inclusion of old builds into the backstory! The Skypothesis Cinematic Universe lol. Hoping we get to see the Shroud of Coldharbour in someone’s backstory soon, he’s always been my favorite
My god, this is perfect. I was trying to come up with a build that was mechanically the opposite of the Volkihar Knight, but it being a direct dichotomy is 100% what I need. And the fact that you guys keep mentioning the middle brother who will be some kind of Julianos centric wizard has me so dang excited.
Love it! The Divine Crusader light armor + Chrysamere might be a fun final aesthetic/reward for defeating the vampire threat! Like a gift from the divines. Wouldn’t have nearly as good perks as the self enchantments though! Can’t wait to give the build a go!
@@Dutchofclass old comment but for future readers yeah it almost constantly curses you for anything and the shrine location disappears. I personally still use them just cursed. having to find ways to replace health and stamina regen entertaining to work around. plus the shield that fits your shoulder slot is free armor on mage armor players.
Found the new season because of a rewatch of the Redoran Swordmaster and the mention here just adds to why I like how the backstory is done in these builds. The callbacks and relations existing in the same world is a great reward for sticking around the channel and coming back. Even without that, the presentation and music can be pretty immersive that I like to give that section a chance. And that's when the meat of the build/initial appeal is in the appearance and gameplay. Just seeing this made me wanna go back to the Volkihar Knight that was so long ago. So far in my personal stuff my ideas live together but logically are separate. No reason to really imagine any significant relations. Maybe I could imagine the occasional minor crossover like in the background but nothing like this. Keep it up with the creativity and passion.
Awesome character build. The connection to previous builds is impressive and well thought out. I'm guessing the bookish middle Brother will possibly be a pure mage build we may see in a future season. This season is shaping up nicely, first expanding the Whiteskulls and now the second of three Breton brothers. I am interested in seeing what is in store for next week.
Started out as the Volkihar knight. Didn't like being a vampire. Rolled back a save. Switched illusion skill points and perks (through the console) to restoration and joined the Dawnguard. Much fun 👍
I love the integration of each and every character build the these amazing people made in with the stories of multiple other build videos that they've made and it is quite impressive
A few unique twists on one of my favorite playstyles! Also love the background crossovers. Looks like you guys are developing your own extended cinematic universe.
College has been kicking my ass lately so it's really nice to wake up to one of these and just relax for a little bit every Friday, thanks guys, keep up the amazing content
You can take Quick Reflexes in the Block skill tree so he can dodge attacks with ease and use a special move of his master, i took this liberty myself and its really fun !
It’s great to see another build from you! As always, I love the backstory! I like the tie-in to previous characters in the Skypothesis universe. I love the “questing” aspect of the Dawn Knight since that’s a known behavior typical of many Bretons. The combination of greatsword with shield and restoration magic is unique and a cool way to integrate the Dawnguard rune shield into gameplay.
When you see previous characters in the new videos: "Oh yes, it's all coming together" Seriously though, it's really cool to see this subplot, if you will, unveil here, with and/or between the characters. I actually imagine something like that, when creating characters in RPGs. Surely, we are not the only ones though)
This video has literally only been out for about 2 days yet I’ve already studied it like it’s scripture so I can play this character. No other Skyrim build has made me want to do that before.
This is probably my favorite build you guys have done, for now at least lol. I’ve always loved the holy warrior/crusader aesthetic and I always try to play as paladins in fantasy RPGs if possible.
This is beyond awesome, I was waiting for you guys to put a paladin-ish build together. Going to try it out (maybe sticking to s&s and spell instead of 2h, as playing on the Switch makes changing favourites with no key shortcuts rather cumbersome). Great work!
Everytime I start playing skyrim and watching your videos I somehow end up falling asleep. I suppose the audio in these videos is soothing like a good audio book, damnit.
As always you never fail to achieve a great build, and the way the story arc ties in to previous builds is brilliance, thanks for always going that extra mile for your fans
Gorgeous Aesthetic! Also quite tanky with good armor rating (possibly maxed after 40) and magic resistance of around 65% (25 or so for the ring , 25 race, 15 for agent of mara) a little light on damage do to silver weapons but since you play on adept or master, it won't be a serious issue. Very well done.
Epic! love the connections putting your own lore in the lore if you will. Unfortunately my pc keeps over heating and won't let play Skyrim at the moment but hopefully I will get my new cooling in fan in a few days( its a special small pc so it needs a small cooling fan to be sent). I take a lot of inspiration from your builds and the way you are building on your own lore is great.
Great build guys! Will definitely be trying it out soon. By the way, if you're taking suggestions and whatnot, how about a High Elf Templar based on the class from ESO? Maybe he could be a champion of Auriel or something.
Wow long time fan and just saw this one! If you remember me at all I love a witcher / undead slayer type! You guys are really pumping these out now! With no loss in quality or depth, very awesome :) I still think the Witch Killer crossbow build is by far the best build in all aspects yall have made with this being a close second! I just had some random thoughts what if the next season of builds were -themed (ex: Thor. I currently have a dark elf tentatively named Dragonborn of War who washed a shore skyrim after leaving greece - Choose your adventure (using your community and polling have the viewers narrow down selections for builds for you to master into its own unique thing) -Lore Building ( as in more characters that act as background and lore building for the other builds you've made like this builds relationships to others) If anyone wanted a Perfect witcher in Skyrim this combined with the Witch-Killer is going to play so nicely 👌
I will say this again & again! You two need to be hired by Bethesda to make the stories for all their games! Your builds are beyond EPIC! The stories you tell are Pure Awesomeness, HANDS DOWN!!!!
Could yall make a righteous vampire build? Maybe one that seeks to destroy the Dawnguard for hunting him down, out of self preservation, but who hates Harkon on moral grounds? Perhaps they're an ancient vampire who sees their vampirism as a curse and seeks to understand the reason for which they may have turned, finding themselves in Skyrim and in the midst of the Dragonborn Prophecy and finally discovering why they were granted their unnaturally long life
Dawn guard armor is always my favorite! I just hate the light armor helmet! I always go heavy armor But now I do want to do a light armor build you have inspired me to do that!
I use the firey soul trap in many instances from thief to combat mage just for the added benefits of constantly using that daedric blackstar to keep my main weapon enchanted without stopping or spending worthwhile coin I justify it as him using the forces of evils defeat to continue to intervene on behalf of the divines
Very nice video as always, this channel provides my favourite builds ever on Skyrim !! I really like the aesthetic of your game, very close to vanilla with better textures and lights, could we have a list of the graphic mods you use in your showcases ?
Cool build, I've wanted to do a Dawnguard Paladin type ever since I started playing with Adamant Perks on PS4, it adds plenty of restoration perks to boost sun and ward spells
So the way I played this build was slightly different in terms of gear and stats: For armor, I replaced the light armor with heavy and wore the Silver Armor as I just felt like it looked much better with the silver swords. This also led to me putting slightly more emphasis on stamina and changed the stats to 3 health, 2 stamina, 2 magic. For weapons, I kept it the mostly the same but added Dawnbreaker with the decision to doing so mainly being that I just felt like it fit really good since the build also reminded me of a Paladin. The other reasons were that it could be used as an alternative to the silver sword when facing against Vampires but I don’t have any black soul gems. This was also my way to justify putting points into blocking and one handed.
Removing Fire Enchanter and 1 point in Barbarian to get Novice Destruction + Augmented Flames has some interesting results with these enchanted weapons. Training Destruction to 30 through Faralda is pretty cheap.
I think Chrysamere from the anniversary edition would’ve been a good choice for the greatsword, however I too have always liked how the silver weapons looked so I can’t complain with the decision
Finally, a good roleplay. I, too, returned to vanilla Skyrim. The anniversary edition on my PS4 crashed all the time and all the creation stuff meant being bothered by all those couriers! I hate couriers! Too many builds require Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood quests and gear. No thank you! So thanks for this. Now all I need is a good Breton name.....
I'm well aware that you pride yourselves in vanilla builds but theres one mod that I think would benefit this build tremendously, it's called unplayable faction armours by the legend NordWar UA. It adds vigilant of stendarr armour which is a very traditional looking knight armour, perfect for this build
I absolutely love these videos and always get hyped to watch them even if I can't make some of them, just seeing the breakdown of each other them is great. I am also curious as to how you make clips such as these or how you could accomplish it on a console. Would you play on a lower difficulty and take away the HUD?
I knew it, I knew we’d get to meet the Redoran swordmaster’s apprentice! One question: have we already met the third brother, or will we get to meet him later?
I was watching Lucifer the other night, and that got me thinking that how realistic an Fallen Angel type of build be? A banished high elf descendant of Auri-El, or nord descendant of Akatosh wandering around Skyrim, gathering his/her strength would be a pretty solid playthrough. Of course some lore hunting needs to take place beforehand
