A beautiful melody, by whichever name you know it! Thanks to Tim Edey for teaching me the tune, and Daniel Sainthorant for filming. From a gig in Riantec, Brittany, March 2015.

***** removing all the valves allows all the juicy bends. I remember Brendan used to demonstrate one of his all-draw-note,pentatonic-scale tuned harmonica. Wonder whether is this made the same. Wonderful innovation requires wonderful technique to play too of course.
What an astonishing tune. Not only beautifully played ; I'm really curious about this "key" allowing you to press the button with the thumb, never seen one before ! Dear Brendan, it seems like there's no limitation to the surprises I get from watching your videos and listening to your amazing polymorphic playing style.
Polymorphic?? I like that word! Re. The thumb thingie (I call it a Slide-Hook): it allows you to operate the slide whilst maintaining a cup on the harmonica. It can work for any tuning, but thus one is a type of AsiaBend. Bp
@112109388931918042901 Yes. I found it's good for other kinds of soulful melodies too, like 'Amazing Grace'. It's tuned for a pentatonic scale, which is really common in Chinese music but also popular in many other genres. You can get the other chromatic notes of the scale as intermediate bends also, plus quartertones too of course, though I haven't explored that side much so far.
BrendanPowerMusic thanks for explaining. As I understand it, there is something of a commonality between the blues, Irish music and Chinese music in terms of long bent notes and pentatonics that your harp playing definitely maximises. Do you play many gigs in and around Belfast or the north of Ireland?
