Funny additional note here: While they did update the steam Database for The Day Before - on Oct 23rd at 7:45pm - adding the store description, store name, media, and links. They also, just 5 minutes later, deleted all of it. REMOVING the description, media, links.... and even the name. So the Steam store page no longer has The Day Before as it's name, according to SteamDB records. Dayworld inc?
you guys didnt watch the video? he explains about all the description etc being deleted, and also explains the lawsuit: it was decided that there was no copyright infringement because the korean dude just has a calandar app, thus there is no issue with a game releasing overseas with that name too.
This is such a wasted opportunity. Since they lost the name, they should have patented "the week before", "the month before", "the year before" and "the decade before" and keep cheaging the name each time they miss a deadline. Free publicity.
"The Day Before.. No... More Before After... but After That Before" 8 had this wishlisted with a buddy of mine... we play "scam or real" with game announcements... we both claimed scam... but honestly.. i would like a new decent zombie survival genre entry.
6:38 Seeing the sports car reminds me of how both State of Decay and Project Zomboid encourage you to grab trucks and SUVs so that you can haul more things back to your base. The zombies aren't going to be moving faster than either vehicle and there will be debris on the roads so a fast car doesn't make much sense.
They're also gas guzzlers, though, so how does that work? Not saying sports' cars are any better since they're frail, finicky, and equally gas hungry, but does fuel consumption just not factor in at all when it comes to choosing a survival vehicle?
@@StoutShako The shelf life of gasoline is 3-6 months (additives, fuel type, and storage may be able to increase this to up to 3 years) before performance starts to degrade. Diesel is about a year. With everyone dead, there is a lot of fuel just laying around that will eventually go bad and start causing problems. I don't think fuel economy is going to be something you're worried about since, long term, you will need to establish some kind of base of operations before 5 years is up. In theory, you'll also be able to raid Gas Stations if they haven't been fully tapped or the fuel made inaccessible.
weird scam as there's no where to pre order? And if they are trying to scam larger companies like Nvidia and what not then they are fucked... I think people need to understand what a scam is
It's shovelware - probably not a scam. Just a waste of money that took far too long to release and killed all the hype for it early on. Pretty sad, but all they have to do is let people play it. If it's fun-bad, then Charlie might play it. If it's a mess, speedrunners may love it because of all of the potential strats. Either way, releasing this trainwreck is best for the devs.
One thing people don't generally know is that for any game to release on the store page for purchasing, you must submit a build to Steam for review. that review can take anywhere from a few days to a week. YOU MUST have this review done or the store page doesn't go live for purchases. A lot of indie devs for get this step, press the button to release the game, and then suddenly are blind sided with a prompt to "submit your game for approval". Note that this approval is only required for the very initial release of the game on the store page. Any subsequent updates/patches/etc can be done by the developer whenever they want (excluding say a new paid DLC which then requires the same kind of pre-approval) Given how little the steamdb back end has been changed, there is literaly ZERO chance the devs have submitted a build for approval by Steam. This means there is ZERO chance purchases go live regardless if you see the previous store page's existence as a loophole to the 2 week coming soon criteria.
False. There has been a history of games getting approved that either are miners, malware, or didn't even have an executable. (Shadow: Treachery cannot be tolerated being an infamous example of this)
and it's VERY LIKELY the first submission gets rejected whether it's due to missing art on your store page or incorrect settings on the kinda complicated developer console for Steam. they don't have enough time to get rejected AND approved on resubmission for this game.
There isn't even depot registered for their game steam entry (You need it to upload the game build, which must be tested by valve after that) No depot, no branches, no game configuration, nothing
Reminds me of when my RPG became a rougelike which became a RPG which became a platformer which became a rougelike which became an RPG which became a platformer. I have chosen at long last to keep it as a platforming game but now it's completely different. It was gonna be Earthbound meets Pokemon but now it's more like a 2D Hat in Time. My point is that game development is difficult. I'm not excusing the lack of thought put into the schedule or workplace though.
Unironically the "gaming community" deserves every scam they fucking get. Look at these people, salivating over a "game" that has nothing to stand on, the company has nothing to show, and there is heaps of documentation of all the dumb shit that is happening with this. And some are even "Don't delay again, we need it now", like bro, you deserve to lose all of your money at this point.
I cant wait for the game to release!! ... i expect more content about that disaster and if it really is a good game, then we got a good game. Win Win situation for us.
Here's the thing. I've been gaming since the very start of video games. Back then all we had were adverts, box art and if you were lucky a friend having the game to try out. The ease of buying shite was real. So it made you sceptical. Now there's fuck all excuse to not make decent purchases. I haven't bought a game that I didn't know exactly what I was getting in well over twenty years, because it's dead easy to research within minutes. So this applies to EVERY GAME. It's a win-win when you apply scepticism.
we all know it's not going to release, it's either some sort of scam or vaporware at this point, *IF* it releases, i expect it to be some sort of Steam Greenlight quality shite.
@@crunchyfrog555Some people don't have time to make research on the hobby they play a couple hours a week. It's the kind of people who keeps buying FIFA and AssAss Creed games but they also represent a huge portion of income for AAA studios. We can't "vote with our wallet" out of this problem. And you should know. If you played games "since the start" you have seen that ideology fail for decades now.
@ekki1993 this comment is so far from The truth m8 ahaahahahahahhaha there's always time to research,it takes all of 15 mins to possibly save $60 to $120, there's always time to not waste money, and you absolutely can "Vote with your wallet" or " Put your money where your mouth is", if you have no standards and/or are lazy then you won't obviously, THATS what we are seeing, the average gamer is brain dead and has no standards, your comment highlights that lack of standards Perfectly, ironic you say he should know, when YOU should know this
If the rumors are real and they really don't have much of a game ... what they will do is, first they release the beta and then, before the expected release, they will say that because of feedback, they decide to change some stuff, so they need to delay the game again.
Just a quick thing i noticed with the Green off-roading challenger... that's basically a 1:1 copy of Westen Champlain's off-roading hellcat build + a push bar . Probably looking too far into it but too many coincidences with this game xD
you can have your game page as private... thats what Wildcard did with Ark as they were able to drop the game page after their reveal trailer and drop there game hours later.
Wow it's crazy that it's almost November, i remember the whole delay and trademark drama back in like June? It's at least entertaining to watch them trying to fool people 🤣
Time to mark our calendars! Will we be proven wrong about the game, or proven right? Or will something else happen that we weren't expecting? Either way we know when to expect Kira's next video 😄 ill bring the popcorn!
Wait. Is it an Xbox title, too? Does that mean they will also offer _ME,_ a lowly Xbox....man(?) the chance to not play a Beta?! I'm so excited for whatever the Hell game this won't partly-be!
Seeing as though the game hasn’t been registered on steam for quite for some time now, I’m going to assume they haven’t taken any preorders at this point. The people in the comments of that video who still think this ‘game’ is releasing this year, in any form, are on military grade copium 😂 at least this is funny as fuck to watch unfold
If it ever releases, they'll definitely either rush it out by Christmas (which would be stupid) or delay it until summer 2024. My guess is that they're terrified of what people will think either way. They should just release it instead of walking in circles.
@@HauntakuTV agreed, I honestly think it’s gonna be terrible regardless of when they release it now. If they do somehow push something out before Christmas it will at least be funny to watch the fallout! My money is on another delay into next year though. Guess we’ll see soon!
@@nikajo__8755 Yeah, they're not like me. I have a deadline to release a new horror game on October 31st on my itchio and it will be released most likely around lunch for free or $7.
I like the little about pointing out how its easy to point out the winners, like DayZ, CS, etc. What about the games that came after? It gets abit harder to name any of those.
Am I crazy or did they originally advertise this as coming out on all platforms? Now there’s 0 mention of console release on their website? Color me shocked…
anyone with a brain was waiting for yet another delay they have shown nothing and its a little over a week till it was due to release so a delay was the only thing that could happen here
Imagine going to a restaurant, and you told the waitress, "You are afraid that the food is still raw, whatever, just bring it out and together as food eater and chef we will solve everything." Yeah, you got food poisoning (and possibly salmonella), and then suing the restaurant for your stupidity.
Indeed. I'm not defending Fntastic here, but game studios will get flak for either postponing their game or releasing it half-baked. Look at CP2077. First, they got angry gamers on their tail for postponing it. Then when it was released in a rush, half-baked (and for some unfortunate gamers, almost unplayable), they got another batch of angry gamers on their tail. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Look at Kira; egg on his face as he is going to be proven wrong. Not only will it release, it will be herald as the best release of the year; beating out Balder's Gate 3 and Spider Man 2. There is no way this games launch is going to be a catastrophic disaster verging on Cyberpunk or Fallout 76. Nope. None whatsoever. Nada. :>
I can't tell if you're serious. How could anyone have such a bad take on something so obvious. You must be being sarcastic, or just a total fool. Honestly, the latter wouldn't even surprise me. Sadly. LMAO
@@Ca11MeMayb3 IM NOT IM BEING SERIOUS I REALLY THINK THIS GAME THAT HAS A TRAILER WITH A MAN SITTING IN A SAUNA AND A SCREENSHOT OF LAMBOS IS GONNA BE GOTY
If you wonder why they keep showing cars, it's because they can just buy these assets. A Ford mustang is a ford mustang so it's fine if they just copy>paste it from an asset pack and no one can complain about it. Classic Day Before stuff basically
What a troll that calendar guy was. Of course he couldn't claim copyright and he probably knew that. But he must have spent a whole lot of money to teach them a lesson on good business practices...
Been keeping up with this since your first video I think almost a year ago. It’s amazing we are actually getting/not getting something new lol. Either way somethings getting to us, nothing (which can be something) or something (which can be something)
Whats hilarious in regards to the comments is that the very same people who just want to consume, is the very same people who gonna complain about its state when or if it gets released...
I still cannot believe that people, real actual human beings genuinely think this "game" is even real. I'm just stunned. No wonder gaming is going downhill
There is no way they are going to announce a release date less than at least a month before it releases. They have to give reviewers a chance to play it as well if they want to build hype, unless it's bad.
it's like a car crash on the street, you don't wanna look, but morbid curiosity won't let you go without peeking over it and slowing down before passing it
I want to know what would happen if they release the game but it looks like Caspian's CoE release that was just a PS1 block running around with a torch. PS: also commenters could be bought/bots.
It baffles me how so many people apparently lack the ability to think critically. If this game were real, we would have seen *some* sort of gameplay. But so far, we have seen nothing. All we've seen were "emotion shots" trying to establish a feel, but nothing else. That's like me hyping people up for a theme park I'm opening, but instead of showing any of the rides, all you get are descriptions of how thrilling it's going to be.
Let's be real, even if it releases it would never be what it was supposed to be at reveal. At best it's a hilarious gaming blunder and at worst a bait and switch scam
The guy who tried to claim a copyright infringement is an idiot, he should've waited until the game is launched and makes money. Only them strike them, even if his case is weak, you'd rather settle cheaply out of court than to pay lawyers, waste time and risk losing. He could've made a few thousand. A few. Better than nothing and lawyer fees.
if the steamdb/storepage was still there, it would be visible on the db. it isn't, because it was removed. But I did address the potential steam give them a special pass in the video.
Subbed to keep in the know ^^ I really hope this game actually works out in the long run, I have a feeling it won't but would be so cool if it actually came to fruition, we need a new DayZ ^^
@@devilsadvocate2643 that's why I said "I hope it works out in the *long run*" If it releases, it's most likely gonna be a mess , but could be a case of getting a bunch of patches and then modders getting their hands on it and eventually becoming a good game. I'm not holding my breath or anything , but still would be nice if it happened
