These goofballs put more effort and work in this brief statement than the Day Before “game” itself.

Accountability for ones actions is kryptonite to scammers.

I noticed red flags when they mentioned the "New Zealand venture called MytonaFntastic" because I'm from NZ and never heard about them but remember seeing job listings for a shitty game company a while ago that the name reminded me of. Upon more research it seems that the company was actually founded in Russia but apparently their headquarters are in Auckland NZ. Their website also contains absolutely no information except their privacy policy etc. So I'm almost certain that the company is actually a tax haven which is a thing lots of foreign investors do after our old right wing PM John Key changed laws to let his Chinese associates turn NZ into a tax haven. So that makes them even more fishy.

I got an idea. Its called the gamers blacklist. We go back throughout recent history and find clear-cut hard evidence of someone lying about their game. We name them and shame them, permenantly. Make sure the entire industry knows who they are. No calls to fire them, no harassment campaigns, no retribution. Immortalization. We cant sue these big companies, we cant do anything to them. But we can certainly shame them publically BY NAME. No more hiding behind company twitter accounts or behind faceless nameless "publishers".

They're essentially blaming journalists for your own fault. Gaming journalists were saying the same shit as everyone else.

Funny fact. Developers were ready to patch up the game to fix zombie not spawning issue a couple hours after release. But Gotovtevs brothers (CEOs) said no because it requires to reboot the servers and they were afraid that dr disrespect would leave the game if he were forced to update

SO, "How DARE you expose us for our shady shit" is the take they're going with? Bold move, let's see how THAT works out for them.

Typical scammers, blaming everyone else for the mess they made. One thing I really hope doesn't happen more in the future is this becoming a trend, where game devs drum up a ton of hype for a game with cool trailers, which is so easy to do with ue5, and then drop absolute trash and run away with people's money and their hopes for a fun experience.

oh man, i love no man's sky and i was one of the ppl that hated it so badly when it first came out. It goes to show if you admit you made a mistake and willing to fix it how much of a difference it would make, thanks for mentioning that one.

Honestly, accountability seems to be taboo for many modern-day thinkers. It's even a problem for people within my circle, especially those who seem to be glued to social media. 😔

What's really a shame is that it worked. They weren't trying to release a good product. they were trying to release something that was passable, so they could rip as many people off as possible and run away with the money, and they succeeded. I'm really disappointed Steam is enabling them to steal from their customers.

yeah they were soooo honest.... they never announced teaser streams that got cancelled after 8hrs of "This stream will start soon" or advertise their other game or even their office management software whilst actually having promised a "Day Before" stream. Also; they supported their employees? You mean the vollunteers? Because there's plenty of evidentiary video's of the CEO's recruiting for vollunteers on "AMA-streams"... I knew these guys were delusional but these guys need help of the clinical and medicinal kind.....

I actually remember another game these devs made called Dead Dozen, i bought it back when it looked fun and seemed like a good game. Turns out it was a scam game that was released in early access and never touched again. Suprised seeing them again but didnt expect seeing them being apart of such a huge thing.

The real thing is, the game is alright. I haven’t played it, but it doesn’t sound terrible. The problem is that they massively overpromised. If you over promise and under deliver then people will be disappointed.

This feels like they saw people defending Palworld, and tried to jump onto that. Two problems with that: 1) Palworld has legitimately done nothing wrong. 2) Palworld is fun.

what's troubling is that they don't realize the negative impact they made on gamers' trust towards developers/game companies, now a lot of us will refrain from pre-ordering or will stare at a new game trailer and try to analyse it to see if there's a chance this could be a scam, just like The Day Before.
