I’ll Take $500 before a meeting with him. You can learn more on tik-tok and RU-vid. Plus, I think he got lipo done on his lips after the rapper turned sports commentator said he look like a camel. Everything about him is fake
In the business world, its not about what you hold or own but who you know. A poor man will take the 500k but a smart man will go for millions and billions.
you an this clown are too young to understand it was way more involved then this, what he did was a very over simplified version that still runs with the narrative that Dame was the issue which is not the case, also Biggs wasn't just some guy that did nothing he was the Man with the money without Biggs, Jayz an Dame wouldn't have got Rocafella off the ground because they didn't have enough money, yall need to stay your era, go worry about what hand bag Uzi wearing or something
@@cwaicwai821 he felt she was better suited for him and should've been "his" but she kept choosing Dame... with men who think very highly of themselves, it's obviously impossible that anyone could reject them for who they are despite what they have...
Nice joke but the record label was built off *Biggs* money! Literally, he’s the street guy that doesn’t want you to know his business. So there would be no Jayz without *Biggs* money. You remember that before you disrespect the man
he got no clue what he's talking about, he said Biggs did nothing, Biggs was the main money source at one point, he was big time but when Jay didn't need him no more...
@nicechasinchasegods7051 I don't think it was about Jay not needing him. I'm sure Jay doesn't need Biggs now. Their issue was likely complicated by Jay and dame's beef. Once Jay and Biggs hashed out their issues, they could move forward. Even Jay and Jaz-O reconciled and Jay inked Jaz-O to a pretty lucrative deal so he's back in the mix getting money and staying active.
Great job, Xevi. Jay-Z was willing to walk away from it all but Dame/Biggs refused to relinquish the Reasonable Doubt masters. Colossal mistake. Dame sleeps better at night by convincing Jay-haters that he was somehow shafted.
You sound dumb how was jay walking away when he got a higher position president of Def Jam 🤷🏽so he wanted them to sell the masters and they will never eat off it again or make the choice every year Dame & Bigs make money of that album. You stupid to think Biggs or Dame will sell those masters after the treachery
Bro where you talking about? Jay wanted the masters to reasonable doubt which was more valuable than rocafella. Jay tried to finesse dame and Biggs by doing secret meetings with lyhor cohen and becoming the ceo of def jam who already owned 50% of rocafella which technically would’ve allowed jay to have majority ownership of both def jam and rocafella but dame and Biggs were smart enough not to relinquish their masters of reasonable doubt or ownership of rocafella as its private property that can be leveraged. The US Magistrate Robert W. Lehrburger ruled that Dames one-third ownership of Roc-A-Fella can, in fact, be sold since it is his personal property. Idk how holding on to one of the masters of one of the most legendary albums in hip hop culture is a mistake.
@@newyorka7 Reasonable Doubt doesn’t generate a lot of money. Jay wanted it for sentimental value. Dame is not selling the Masters for billions. Critical vs commercial success are different and you don’t know better.
dude yes it does😂 Jay z sold a 25 year anniversary of reasonable doubt NFT for $138,600 in 2021 imagine how much the actual masters of reasonable doubt is worth. Jay didn’t even get his billion from music but rather other business ventures. The point isn’t to get billions from the masters. Jay could care less about sentimental value he’s a literal billionaire, littlest everything he does is a business move. He literally blocked dame from selling his shares of his masters as a NFT just to sell a 25 year anniversary NFT to spite him.
@@mikerossableno he didn’t. Dame stands on business and is thrashed bc he doesn’t allow himself to be walked over in a cutthroat industry. Ppl love to hate on dame when he’s honestly one of the most tame ppl in the industry other than his attitude.
@@newyorka7take or not, he got fucked over by his boy and that is never excusable... The fact that you even tried to make excuses for that says something about you
Dame took money off the top and launched a magazine for his girl at the time. He also re-routed Beanie Sigel’s money from his Pro Keds deal, to himself. He tried to name Cam CEO of Rocafella. Dame was wilding.
Biggs and Hov are still in business together Roc96 neither of them Deal with Dame and recently sued him when he tried to sell his portion of Reasonable Doubt as a NFT
Actually Jayz said give me reasonable doubt masters and you can have the company and masters to the other albums. They said no. Initially Jay was going to be president at atlantic records but defjam intercepted the deal and offered Jayz his masters on top of becoming president.
Dame didn’t consult Jay because Jay didn’t do office work. Also why Dame spending money is getting to his head but Jay spending money is normal? The company wasn’t losing money so if they wanted to spend, let them. Dame made the smart play not giving Jay his masters, it was his only leverage and Jay could break his word after the deal is made or destroy the company from the inside out like he ended up doing.
In the end Dame is losing his shares in Rocafella because of money he owes. Taking the money from Jay-Z could’ve paid off his debt and left him a little something afterward. Now he’s about to have nothing. Great move 🙄
@@jsmidash … Dame isn’t losing his shares, he’s forced to sell his shares which would still see him make a profit. He was trying to sell the entire time but Jay blocked him until a court order allowed him to sell. In Dame’s words he was willing to sell to JayZ but wouldn’t settle for a lowball offer.
If you have business partners which is exactly what Dame and Jay were, then you’re supposed to consult with your business partner on all big decisions. Saying Jay didn’t do office work, doesn’t matter, jay should still be informed on everything that’s going on upfront by his partner and he wasn’t, because Dame thought he was the ultimate boss. Dame seemed to forget that he “shares” a business together with jay. Secondly, Dame was recklessly spending the company money confirmed by multiple people. Jay on the other hand was actually very conservative with money. One of the reasons Dame called him a Jew one time lol.
Xevi I gotta you a question if you put your blood, sweat, and tears into making something work wouldn't you go ballistic if they tried to take it from you?
Also Biggs was a silent business partner. He actually did quite a lot. Especially from the branding and marketing perspective. And the Jay-Z didn't want him out the company he got caught up on Federal charges and since his release he is back working with Jay-Z at Roc Nation but also has involvement in Drink Champs and other things like Roc96...etc put some respect on Kareem Biggs Burke name.
So much missing! Dame matched energy. It’s deals in between and not even spoke about in this video. He sumed it up. Comments Is based off nothing but google searches. Not true facts in the room!I was about to sub based off other break downs but this is what I needed to wait. Great work but this not that
Dame has said why. Jay-Z knew what R Kelly did and did an album and tour with him anyway. It’s my understanding that Dame torpedoed Rocafella to get away from Jay-Z. But I may be mistaken.
@@Megan-xt1nithats not why thats some shit he made up after the fact, and Jay z obviously didn’t believe it (which is dumb in its own way and sucks too but whatever)
This is why I don’t understand why people defend Dame like he’s the victim here. Folks only wanna one side of the story and act like the other side is the villain.
Uhhh.. one of those pictures in the middle of the vid is actually Jay-Z, Dame and Dj Premier on the left. And, that guy Premier aka Preemo, inspired a ton of producers today.
@xevi this is pretty accurate except you did biggs pretty dirty. And missed a couple things. During the rise of rocafella biggs ran the music department of the label and had a pretty good track record for signing artists here are some: Kanye west, Camron (and the diplomats) beanie segal, memphis bleak. And a few others. With jay-z supposedly retiring after black album, I believe biggs was just collateral damage to rid himself of all the problems dame was causing with the label. He got rid of a committee and made himself ceo, Gained his masters, and got paid handsomely in exchange for parting ways with the clothing line.
My brother Jay-Z owned 50%,Biggs and Dame owned 25% apiece Jay-Z sold 25% to Def Jam after the Feds started to investigate the label. Why do you think he was the only person from The Roc in those meetings
I'm not shedding any tears for Dame in this situation. Yeah, Jay isn't exactly the most ethical man in the world, but Dame pretty much alienated everyone from even wanting to work with him.
You can look at jay z and see he is playing chess … even in some footage .. jay z had the look that said … im going to out grow these dudes … I want to own and control ..
