Have always been their fan, but the band has gotten better for me as they age. Can't say witch song or album is best, they all are in their own way, but Floor is my favorite frontperson, ever ❤

This is the second single of the new upcoming album Yesterwynde, which will be released 20th of september. Tuomas announced that this single will have a typical 80ies vibe which it definitely has. I hear influences clearly by Pink Floyds The Wall and Queens Night at the oprea. In the chorus right after the instrumental part and Choir I hear Agneta from ABBA in Floors voice. Story has elements of George Orwells 1984 and the video also is directing this way. Over all you need to hear it several times - like mostly in Nightwish songs - to get the full enjoyment with it. If there is an apocalypse, I now know who I have to stand behind so that I'm not the first to be hit ;-) Basically, I'm an optimist by principle. Life is much more worth living if you look at it from the positive side. And you can only take advantage of opportunities if you believe in them. If you only think about the end of the world, you can't take advantage of opportunities anymore because they're all pointless. If the zombies get me, I'll be in a good mood until the end ;-) The first Nightwish album I heard was Once, the last album with Tarja. But I hardly listen to it anymore because I think Floor is the better singer for Nightwish. Floor can interpret the songs better. My current favorite is Human :||: Nature. I have albums by other bands where I only listen to one. But I listen to those bands much less often. Basically, though, I'm a fan of modern algorithms that introduce you to new music and bands. Most of the time it doesn't work, but you still find something. This isn't the first time I've heard the Halloween comparison. I didn't feel that way, but in my country Halloween isn't a traditional day either. The children's choir rather irritated me. The song reminded me of Queen. The current tour status is that Tuomas is releasing a new, third Auri album at the beginning of next year and will be on tour for the first time in autumn 2025. He currently has no concrete plans for 2026. He is skeptical about appearing at festivals because it would be a lot of effort for just a few performances. The label would like something for the band's 30th anniversary in 2026. Tuomas is still undecided about whether and what he wants to do. What he's currently thinking about is a musical, as an independent side project. It may be that the next Nightwish tour will take a while. We'll still see a lot of (Ex-)Nightwish members. 1984 wasn't intended to be commercial. George Orwell was concerned with Stalinism. Cyberpunk takes place in a world dominated by corporations. But the grayness is more reminiscent of 1984; cyberpunk would be more colorful. In the video you can see an Inca who sacrificed people so that the world would not end. Today people are no longer sacrificed, but the world is still there. This is how the Revolutionary Fists will ultimately be understood. Our personal world will end, but the world itself will continue to exist. Whether there is a place for us in it or whether we float through space without control and without a home is something we have to decide for ourselves.

Please do it, before you read on here. 🙏 Have you? I hope you are not shocked. 😁 Okay, it was the first time I heared "The Day Of..." now and I am relieved. The mix in this song is far better. I was afraid the whole album could be mixed like "Perfume of the Timeless". "The Day Of..." is a great song, everything is perfect. 👍 Thak you for sharing that video.

I got into Nightwish with their Endless Forms Most Beautiful album which was Floor's first and remains my favourite to this day. Human Nature is just one song away from being a masterpiece (omit Harvest - please!!). Dark Passion Play and Imaginaerum with Anette are also fantastic. I do own the entire back catalogue and love all three singers, but rarely play any of the first five with Tarja all the way through. Of those first five, I could probably make a compilation of the very best songs from them that would fit onto, say, a 75 minute CD and that would be awesome too. So far, I love the first two singles from Yesterwynde, even though I am one of those who - shock horror! - committed the cardinal sin of not liking the vocal mix on Perfume Of The Timeless. Still really looking forward to the new album though and just hoping Troy doesn't get to feature too much vocally. He's undoubtedly an excellent multi-instrumentalist and has a pleasant enough voice (for harmony vocals), but not strong enough (IMO) to take lead vocals.

After Evergrey, Nightwish is joining the movement of using music videos to showcase the importance of...moisturizer. I'm sorry, I couldn't unsee it. Now seriously, I'm still confused by this song. Cool bass and drum work from Kai and Jukkis, though! I am still not excited for this album, maybe some deeper cuts from it will be more my thing? I'm planning on buying it, but I'm more excited for the new Swallow the Sun, among others. My favourite album of theirs is Dark Passion Play, it's not the first one I heard, but I was waiting for it with baited breath back in the day and, to me, it's still the best they've written. Oceanborn is the other, because power metal 😂. I love dystopian fiction, too, in university I went to a class on it. We talked novels, series, films, it was awesome.
lol! It does seem like moisturizer is a must in the future. We should get stock in moisturizer now. I don’t know why, but I really love the new stuff. I guess because I am not really familiar with all of their previous stuff. I do have swallow the sun on my to do list. I can’t wait to check them out. Also did you watch the show Fallout? I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Definitely fun if you haven’t seen it.
@@MattsMoshPit1 I haven't seen it, but I might check it out. House of the dragon is over for now, so I have nothing to watch. I don't think the new music is bad. It takes getting used to. Endless Forms Most Beautiful is a great album, but it took me a loooong time to get into it. Human:||:Nature, same thing. The music becomes more complex, I suppose, and my own listening has changed with time. STS released a new song recently, "What I Have Become", it's pretty awesome.

lol! I completely understand, I have a ton of stuff in my music collection and each piece is a specific memory for me. I don’t know that I would give anything up. It would be super cool if someone wanted to donate to my collection. I am not sure I am that lucky.
This sounds a lot like a video game soundtrack to me. I have listened to both this song and Perfume Of The Timeless a few times and I don’t think it’s songs that I will come back to. The first Nightwish album I listened to was Oceanborn. I usually don’t listen to full Nightwish albums but most of the songs that I have in playlists and listen to from time to time are from Century Child, Once, Dark Passion Play and Imaginaerum. I don’t really like the albums with Floor. Not because of Floor, I just don’t like the songs (but that is my personal taste, I’m not saying that the albums are objectively bad). I usually end up listening to Therion or Epica if I feel like listening to symphonic metal.
@@MattsMoshPit1 Tuonela ft. Marko Hietala could be a good first Therion song to listen to. Some other songs that I really like are: To Mega Therion, Wine of Aluqah, Via Nocturna, Son of the Staves of Time and Lemuria (the version from the "Live Gothic" album). Therion has been around since 1987 and have released 19 studio albums. I think that you can actually call some of their albums objectively bad but there are also a lot of really good songs. There has been a lot of different members over the years and there is also a long list of live members, session musicians and guest musicians. Evergreys bass player Johan Niemann was a member for about nine years.
