That sounded really generic (at least to me). Change the lyrics to something about death or Satan and you’ll have a bad Ghost song. I generally prefer knowing as little as possible about the artists I like unless it’s related to their music. I feel like seeing artists anywhere other than on stage is a bit like an adult version of seeing your teacher somewhere other than school as a young kid and realizing that they don’t only exist there, somehow a bit weird 😆
That's Dante's Italian of the XIII century...even for (some) modern Italians it's quite hard to understand it fully, that's why subtitles are in (old) Italian too. Great reaction though!
His voice is just as good live, no autotune or anything here or during performance. This song sounds not exactly heavier live, but it's just as good. You can tell he's a bit oldschool with these things and I really appreciate it, I am not against using backing tracks up to a certain level, but in the end we go to concerts to see these people perform live. He only used one bass (the Vampyre from the video) but the guitarist Tuomas W had a bunch of different cool retro guitars. They played some yet unreleased new songs (the new album will be more rock&roll apparently) and ended with a speech denouncing the warmongers of the world, followed by a performance of War Pigs. I hope I won't be thrown in metal jail when I say that Marko sings that better than Ozzy. All in all you are in for a treat with him. I have never met him, but I would like to. One thing I know is that he does not drink alcohol, so if you bump into him in Helsinki don't offer to buy him a beer.
Si-mo-nuh That is how you pernounce her name officily in Dutch. Most Americans are saying si-moon and that is fine. Fantastic song. I’ve seen all 3 ladies singing this song live in Amsterdam last September with an orchestra and a choir. The whole show was so amazing. They promoted a new song for the first time. “The Ghost In Me” based on the Danse Macabre. It blew my mind. When it will be releasedatum. Please do a reaction. 🤘🏻
Not me trying to pronounce the name in Latin since I saw someone with an Allegaeon T-Shirt at a concert (I don't know Latin). Also I looked at the lyrics, it's about the Phi number (sequence?) that occurs often naturally and in physics, and it starts with 1,618 (...). I'm probably explaining this wrong, I passed high school maths and physics by the skin of my teeth. I am only slightly familiar with tech death and that's if you count Nile. This song here I like a lot and would probably be open to hearing more.
@@MattsMoshPit1 It's actually a super cool subject for a metal song! I remember it was a plot point in the Da Vinci Code (the book) which is how I even found out about it. Look up the Golden ratio, it's a lot of maths but still interesting stuff. I think Tool has some music based on it, but I don't really like them.
I wouldn’t change song if Spotify decided I needed to listen to this but I don’t think it’s something I would actively choose to listen to either. Fleshgod Apocalypse also plays technical death metal but I think all the symphonic stuff distracts a bit from that. Sounds like you have been listening to second wave Scandinavian black metal, probably not the best place to start. Here are some black metal bands that my friends that doesn’t like black metal likes: Batushka, Rotting Christ, Dissection, Dark Funeral (not the early albums), Diabolical Masquerade, Dimmu Borgir (not the early albums), Mephorash, Blackbraid.
@@MattsMoshPit1 A Swiss band called Chaoseum opened for Marko Hietala and Tarja Turunen, and all of their guitars were Solars. The bass was almost the same as mine, only a 5 string. I was not a fan of their sound, but I approve of the Solars 😂
@@MattsMoshPit1 Oh they have a very Korn-like sound and that's not exactly my thing, but my friend enjoyed them. They also had a lot of problems with the sound, so maybe I've misjudged them, who knows.
Matt, I missed this one! But when I saw Accept @ M3 a few years ago, it was the loudest live band I'd ever heard!! I'm surprised Tally Ho's roof is still in tact!! 😆
i see you whit you finger in pause like - i need to pause but... i need to see more thats the LOVEBITES effect you just want to see more and more i love them ty
I love Jinjer, they're all amazing, and yes please stay together P.S. Imagine being her child and being scolded in that scream/voice 😱 🤣 Thank you for the video 👍🏻
Amazing band - one of the pioneers of post-rock. They're not for everyone, but they give me the goosebumps. Seen them twice and blown me away each time. The song Untitled 8 mentioned by a couple of people here is also known as Popplagio. The version Live at Southside Festival 2013 is the one to go for.
Yeah I should probably listen to more Accept. As for KK's, I don't know, it's solid, and trad heavy metal is always a good time, and Ripper is a powerful singer, but has always come across as lacking individuality in his singing. I know it's rich coming from me, and he is still really good, just that here, and back in the day when he was in Judas Priest, he sounds so much like Rob. The albums with Iced Earth he really tried very hard to be as similar to Matthew as possible, or at least that's what I was hearing when listening to them. It's actually a weird quality to not like, because sounding like Halford or Barlow is an achievement. Still, as far as I can tell, great performance from both bands, and it's really cool that you could fist bump them!
That makes sense about Ripper. I love his story, but he kind of a chameleon. Accept was awesome!!! You definitely need to check them out. I know I need to hear more from them.
Good point. This band is perfect. The chemistry is ideally optimal. Each one is as crucial as the rest. It's a unit. They stay together for themselves. It's all they know, all they can do. And they do it better than any band on Earth. I know a ton of work and practice goes into it, but onstage they are one living breathing organism. As tight and intuitive as any band ever. It just doesn't get any better than this. Four days till Charlotte! Come on Mother Nature!
The song is full of more or less hidden references, from video games like Doom, to literature with Dante appearing exactly at 3 minutes and 33 seconds. In the Divine Comedy, Dante arrives in hell in the third canto: "Pape Satàn, pape Satàn aleppe!", began Pluto with his raucous voice; and that gentle sage, who knew everything, said to comfort me: "Let not your fear harm you; for, whatever power he may have, he will not prevent us from descending this rock." There are also references to Italian songs by Francesco Salvi and Lorella Cuccarini, horror films, and Michael Jackson, and I'm surely forgetting something important...
Accept at a venue that size feels a bit odd from a European perspective. I’m on the fence about seeing them when they come here in November. There are so many concerts to choose between right now, often at least two per week, and tickets aren’t exactly cheap. The only concert I have been able to find that is more expensive is In Flames and that’s at an arena where tickets tends to be expensive. Ripper Owens is 57 so maybe it’s not fair to compare him and Rob Halford but on the other hand, Accepts vocalist is only three years younger than Rob…
I completely understand, I have been to one or two shows a week since August. It definitely adds up. Tomorrow night is Nanowar of Steel in a small club, then next week I fly to London for Arch Enemy and In Flames. If you can swing it, I would definitely check out Accept if you can. They were a lot of fun!
I love Disco Metal by NanowaR of Steel. The kind of music that I dance to while at work. Sure wish the 1970's era of Disco had been as cool as this video. I likely would have spent more nights at the club, if so😅. Dimash does a cool Vampire music video for "When I've Got You". Check it out on your own time. I think you would love the visuals for this rock /bluesy song. 🥰🥰Metal hugs from a Canadian Dear🇨🇦
I can’t wait for the show, editing the vlog is a whole other issue. I have to knock it out before flying to London for Arch Enemy and In Flames. Hopefully, I can edit the London trip on the plane. My October is packed with concerts. I am already tired🤣
Great reaction! :D NoS published a totally different video some days ago called "Stormwarrior of the Storm", maybe you would like to have a look at that one? It is Heavy Metal again. :D
Another Japanese all female Bands NEMOPHILA, BAND-MAID, HANABIE, TRIDENT-JAPAN, GACHARIC SPIN, MARY'S BLOOD, BRIDEAR, HAGANE, ASTERISM(female guitarist), MAXIMUM THE HORMON(female drummer) check them out bro.....
I had the same reaction watching the videos :D super badass! Their older song "I want it I get it" (Желаю значит получу) is also all screams, and Russian is not an easy language for that kind of thing, but they make it work and it's so satisfying to listen to it.
Jinjer touring USA right now starting on the east coast. Their opening band Hanabie is another one of my absolutely favorite bands and incredible live act.
Yep, brutal and in your face from the get go. On first listen , I was waiting for a switch up to cleans, but it never came. Then I found out the song is about Putin, so I completely understand the all harsh choice. Musically , I can listen to all harsh, but prefer when they're mixed with cleans. Saw an interview with Tatiana where she narrowed the album release date down to either Jan of Feb. On another note, Freeze the Fall just released a live cover of The Warning's "Survive", feat Jesse from BEL Development channel.
I enjoyed the song, I just didn’t expect the brutality, but given the subject matter that makes sense. I’ll have to check out the Freeze the fall song. Thank you my friend🤘
You're close on the pronunciation, and may be correct according to the name of the flower, but the name of the band is pronounced "neh-mo-fee-la" (short "e" on the first syllable).
Awesome vlog! You catch their energy well! So typical for Dany to stop when a female fan had health issues… they are so careful for their fans! Your vlog makes it now even harder for me to wait until April 25, 😉 when I will see them for my 3rd time, in a 4000 capacity venue! Thanks, greetings from Germany 👍⚡️🤘
I'm a bit drunk, and not Icelandic, but I'll try to explain because I love Skàlmold. The band is Icelandic, play "Viking metal". Doesn't take much to get in touch with the Icelandic Symphony when the whole country is 380 000 people, but anyway, Skàlmold is greater than most, and such great guys😁
