Sounds about right. To be fair a lot of these streamers don’t have any other skills that will pay the bills as well as streaming does for them. Even if they did, they wouldn’t truly want to because at the end of the day, it’s much easier than a real job.

@@starwolf92 there are extremes at which you can tell what is going to happen if you change a hero. What kind of idiot would look at a balance change of about 40% increase in lifesteal in a game where small changes can make or break a hero, and be like "Hm, I wonder what's going to happen."

Many popular tank streamers were not asking for buffs but rather changes to the role overall that would provide better feedback and counterplay for all tank characters as well as discourage lazy focus fire on tanks. So IF they did go to 6v6 literally tomorrow. It would be another argument like "5v5 could've worked but they didn't do it right" 2. We literally just had a content creator patch where there were actually many universally agreed upon good ideas that were introduced but not implemented into the actual game. (Again "5v5 could've worked but they didn't do it right") 3. If the players are LITERALLY handing them the answers and ideas for better stuff that could fix 5v5 and they won't do them, what makes you so confident that they will make 6v6 and make it a success? If we go back to 6v6 we have to rewrite ALL the heroes again. And did you forget that 6v6 had an extremely long balance history as well? It has even more intense balance moments than overwatch 2 does. You seriously think 6v6 would just solve all of overwatch's problems? Bro literally the easiest way to fix orisa and make her not horrible to play against is by letting you headshot her in fortify, and we can't even have something as basic as that. You can't even get a healing indicator for brig on your HUD. Overwatch literally created MAUGA and BRIG. In 2 completely separate formats. The issue with overwatch is not the format. It never was. It was always the lack of vision and confidence in that vision. They just do shit they think players will like, and hope they'll be happy with it. Thats the reason behind these changes. You think top 100 reins care about extra barrier health? Fuck no. You know who does? Casual Christopher in silver, holding shield in front of 5 people every fight and wondering why he's losing.

Imma be honest junker and rein are my favorite tanks when both of them were the strongest tanks during their main patches the game was my favorite time to play. Every other tank is annoying except maybe Zarya I actually like her but I preferred playing her with synergy of another tank.

Doesn’t solve fundamental issues with tank & how people play the game around it on any level; exacerbates what people hate about it. 1) counterwatch is worse. I played Winton, they swap Reaper-Hog-Bastion-Brig. As a metal rank player it didn’t fucking matter, but dealing with that every game probably takes its toll on you (I only played a few games). 1.5) With tank counterwatch, your bad match ups become worse and you just will not have an impact if you don’t play perfectly. We had a Zarya vs Dva and if the dva made a tiny misplay against Zarya, she got farmed. She had to constantly take angles/space where Zarya couldn’t threaten her, but bubble nullifies dives and dva can’t really peel against a constant 100% Zarya. 2) if every tank is tanker AND does more damage, they are impossible to 1v1/punish overextension on your own, which makes the solo play aspect unfun. This was made worse with this patch. 2.5) (not a patch issue, but the playerbase being fucking stupid) Because the average player doesn’t understand team play, most of the metal rank & QP games will be people doing their own thing, so there’s no peel for back line or no focused punishing of players. Tanks/deathballs/dives (yes these happen in QP with how sweaty it’s gotten) can often get the back line for free. You can’t take a “safe position” if 2-3 hypermobile characters are constantly hunting you down.

You’re right. To be honest, tanks have so little impact compared to DPS. The tank with the better DPS has fun and goes 20-0 while the tank with worse DPS desperately tries to stay alive and goes 0-10 lol. Tanks can’t get solo elims like DPS

6v6 compounds the problem with tanks being too strong/weak because of tank synergies and the nature of the game being more team reliant. The problem really isn't the format. They both have their issues. The problem is the dev team is solving them in the wrong way. What makes you think the dev team will suddenly be able to solve problems with 6v6 if we go back to that?

You're acting like any decent Mauga will just pop it randomly. All any decent Mauga has to do is hold down the shoot button and walk up to the corner or burst down the rein shield and then pop it, there's literally nothing the other tank could do. Way too easy to play around the counterplay, bro has 600 freaking bullets to waste on the shield and DM and still have plenty bullets to spare for Overdrive.

I've only played 2 hours of patch (as support) and only change I noticed was zaryas bubble changes (haven't faced a ramattra sadly so idk how busted he is). Despite all this, I still think this is one of devs worst patch updates tho

That’s not being based. It’s literally just glazing and white knighting the dev team. You don’t need to “wait a few weeks” to see how bad a patch may be, he’s just trying to be different and not criticise the ow team. This is the same guy that didn’t care about tank players when the role was at its worst.

He did get a harsh nerf actually

Although I think the tank changes feel extreme (as a tank main), I do agree that tanks should actually feel more tanky. Not to the point where they are unkillable, but more like it's not as worth it to focus them down. Being at the lower ranks, I thought that I was just not managing my positioning and cds well enough - but I also remember hearing KarQ say multiple times that in high level comp - the method they found to work the best was also running tanks down. I think this changes might help to mitigate that problem and actually make tanks feel more like tanks

They should have a CHANCE to beat a tank though. Not completely helpless. You’re advocating for a more dumbed down and less expressive game.

Tanks in ow and mobas scale differently. A carry in a moba beats a support in every 1v1 mid late because of the consistent dmg. Your diving tank might be able to outride but tanks in ow are less like both hard supports and diving tanks in mobas
