Poor Aldie and the killer sealions! Yikes! When my better half commercial salmon fished, he'd pull up just the head of the fish too (something out of Jaws!) I hear ya, Ive got “bad luck” vibes when fishing with my buddies. They would have crazy good days throwing back 4-5 lbers like it’s nothing and as soon as I step on their boat, couldn’t catch a 3lber to save our lives 🤣. Just waiting for the day that the only fish I do catch is a 10lber 😂.

Another great fishing adventure. You are right, every time out something is happening. Like Albie,s boat. Looks like Mike is losing weight... Good to see the stripes are still in that same location. Great start to the new year. I hope to be in that area in the next few days. As I have said before, I don't have a Kyak, but I watch your channel the most. I always get good information and tips, and most of all it is very entertaining, better than TV. Keep up the great work.

First year on The Delta and I’ve encountered these monsters multiple times. One followed me for over a mile. Another day one hung around where I fished. Someone told me he was fishing with a friend (kayak fishing) and a sea lion jumped on his friends kayak. That’s what scares me. I’m not ready to fall in during cold season.

sketchy! agreed i think the biggest threat is them flipping the kayak and having to deal with the cold water vs the sea lion itself. not sure if you have a motor on your kayak but i've noticed turning mine on when they are near keeps them away

*Sips coffee* Greg you are the only RU-vid that I follow that provides quality content 12 months out of the year. This is highly impressive. Question...I'm looking at upgrading my Bonafide SS107 to the Titan X 10.5 this year but as you know I fish the Potomac River and Upper Bay which are two big grass fisheries. Do you have any experience on the delta with pedaling through thick grass like hydrilla? I've never used a pedal kayak and am uncertain on whether or not I'd be able to use them when fishing grass.

I would think a honor would have better luck with grass due to the non spinning propulsion. I’ve been in all types of grass and weeds with my outback and never had an issue- that being said I wish it was laid out more like the titans, its ergonomics and price leave a lot to be desired

Thanks Evan! Pedaling through the thick grass probably won't work with the way the propel drive is designed. that said no matter what kayak you choose i'd highly recommend getting a newport NK180. the prop on that thing is so small and powerful that it goes through even some of the thickest grass mats without issue (and in those cases I just pull my propel drive up while motoring through). Plus with you being on a tidal fishery, there's nothing better than having that extra motor power when going agains a strong tide. hope that helps!

Is there anyway that I can let the Newport team know that I'm purchasing the motor because of your recommendation?
