This reminds me of being a teenager, listening to campus radio in my Canadian prairie hometown in the 90's and daydreaming about playing in a band like this one day. God, I feel old.
I some how heard these songs when I was like 8 maybe in about 2000. I thought they were new then but not my thing. I grew up and just remembered a couple for some reason and only just recently realised they were around in the 80s lol
I've always been aware of the dead milkmen but never really got into them seriously. This song made me love them and I wish I was more into them earlier. Absolutely amazing band all around.
I've been doing for drives just to get out of the house during this Pandemic and shuffling them on Spotify. I can't tell you how therapeutic it's been..
i was 12 the first time i heard this song actually! It's up to cool kids like you to carry this cool music on to the next generation lest it be forgotten. if i ever have kids i hope one is as cool as you.
You can buy milkmen shirts directly from their website, also check out Rodney Anonymous blog as well.....You should totally support everything D.M. did and try to hip your friends to these guys! Its up to you being the next generation to carry on the name of all these awesome bands from the 80's and 90's. If you like dm then you should check out The Butthole Surfers, Nomeansno, built to spill and Ladyhawk (from canada not the shit pop chick singer). I have a lot of them all on my channel
This song reminds me of the VH1 behind the music film about red hot chili peppers. There's a clip of John Frusciante on there, saying how if he had a gun, he would have killed himself after leaving the band. He said it was the lowest point of his life, and was after the blood sugar album had massive success. I'm glad that he didn't have a gun.
@cheseeproductions The fez has some of the best lines outta all tdm songs......."excuse me while i puke and die"......"there is a time for taking and a time for giving, but ripping off the butthole surfers is how we make our livin'" sure man....i'll post it tonight.
The Dead Milkmen are one of the best bands ever...!!! All their albums are sick...(only song I don't like is punkrock girl) Saw them live at 1st Avenue in Minneapolis in 1992 roughly. Ahhh lucky me..haha
These guys sound like if you asked a ska band to write a song with no horns. Except they’re also good, we all know a ska band wouldn’t make it without their horns.
Good band. Thanks for the comment you gave us a few months ago. Constructive criticism works. We'll be putting up a few videos, hopefully soon, if you care to check them out. Have a great day.
we argue and fight and one pulls a knife... he stabs me in the back but I'm alright, I'm alright..... *he's alright* adoro várias canções deles igualmente, if I had a gun é uma favorita atual!
@MrTjufc Meh. I think this song is punk because of what it's saying about guns, respect, and social status. Aside from the line about putting holes in someone's chest, it's not that violent of a song really. Is it more punk than Big Lizard or more punk than If You Love Someone Set Them On Fire or more punk than Methodist Coloring Book? All those songs can be called punk in spirit, and not all of them are violent.
wish i had a shirt with that logo i want to be a graphic designer so i can bring back all the logos i like on shirts and posters thats my dream oh yea im waiting for my gun any day now rough rider revolver.
Guns? Naw, I want a 88mm Cannon! Still, I love this band! The best of Philly! Did Baltmore ever produce a good rock band? No! Why? Baltimore is a shithole! Just like Detriot ,wait a second,Detriot did have alot of good to great bands! Yours truly, pissed of in Maryland.
yeah but it's harder than it looks......id say just save up the 20 bucks and buy it from the bands website. Those guys need money more than hot topic or where -ever-the-fuck-else.
what about the song If You Love Somebody, Set Them on Fire, we should ban gas cans too!! and lighters! then we ban the whole human race because everyone has the capability to kill. Makes sense ?. Think about it. Also banning guns won't stop criminals from getting ilegal guns on the black market. You stop social violence with education not by banning things.
heathersstatesships martucci Most people have a real problem with reality, they try to ignore it, deny it, hide it under a carpet, you name it, just because they wish for a world with no violence or deaths doesn't make it so, we live in a violent world where living things are born and die every single minute, people kill each other since the human race exists and for the most stupid reasons too with guns or without them, criminals will always find a way to have a gun though, either buying it illegaly or simply by crafting them, simple improvised guns are ridiculously easy to make, and if there's a will there's always a way. Of course everything would be better off if guns didn't exist, but then again this is earth , not wonderland, guns are here, they are a thing, they exist, you can't just make them dissapear by banning them, banning things NEVER EVER works.
R Stolz I like to think of the human species having the natural weapon of inventiveness. Well mankind invented guns, the contemporary optimal balance in mobility and power. Therefore one could say that the firearm is the human's natural defense at this stage in our evolution.
want a prize or something? Maybe you should be open minded to pop and rap considering most punk music relies on the same type of hooks used in pop music.
