I don't think there are any bands that come close to such perfection and attention to detail. There are bands who manage a certain high quality and perfection, and attention to detail, but not even close to the level of the Dear Hunter.
Well it's hard to define "quality" when it comes to music, but if you are looking at the composition itself. It's pure porn, they are doing a phenomenal job performing it but lets be honest the intricacy of the songs rarely come from instrumentation prowess. Which to be honest is great for a change because it's the harmony and composition that makes this band such an oddball it sounds like nobody is playing for anything but the music and even the lyricism leaves nothing to be critiqued. The only thing i dislike about this band is that it took me so long to discover them.
i just saw them last night at the Gramercey Theater in NYC. Without a doubt the greatest show I've ever seen. They played from 9 to 11:30. They played all my favorite songs, i also met Casey after the show and he is one of the nicest people I've ever met. It was amazing.
I love Casey Crecenzo's voice! It's not a great voice from a technical standpoint, but it's one of those voices that just gets under your skin and makes you feel every note.
Really? It's a great voice from a technical standpoint - I don't think the tone is that great and it can get a little screechy but damn does he use it well
