Go for Tortuga Bay, they make great truescale firstborn torsos that are just slightly shorter than Primaris in mk2-mk7. Get some mk6 and 7 torsos and load em up with DC bits!
I'm really glad I waited to build a load of my models as soon as I heard the rumours of new Blood Angels.. which was quite a while ago. So now I've got quite a lot of firstborn kits and bits I can use to make the new army box contents actually look unique. I'm probably gonna put firstborn jump packs on the Primaris DC, but then keep the jump packs and stick em on regular assault intercessors to use as jump intercessors. For the DC though I'm just gonna say they're given kit from previous generations of fallen blood angels as a blessing and a ward, so I'm even gonna put some 30k stuff in there.
Nice video dude, I've just finished painting 20 First born DC. The issues with the Intercessors is the weapon options and mobility like you say. Gravis Captain looks amazing as well!!
I just love the idea of dc with chainswords and inferno pistols. A lot of attacks at melee as well as being able to shoot with a melta pistol that’s strength 8 with D6 damage.
I'm planning on converting primaris to look like first born marines and magnitizing the weapons and jump packs. I'm also using the bits from the first born kits for extra flavour.
If you're not a gamer you shouldn't be on the fence imo! I've painted 40k minis for many years, I'm over 30,and I haven't played a game since I was 16. I understand your dilemma - it took me a few years to stop building my collection 'game legal' - but the hobby freedom I found when I let go of that habit is great :)
I discovered this for myself in '21-'22 and it actually caused me to *quit* Blood Angels! I stripped all my models and made my own chapter. I couldn't stomach the transition anymore. I was going around all day in a bad mood and I just couldn't figure out why. That was why!
Not only are Primaris DC hard to field. But modeling them they lack all the heraldry seen on the Firstborn DC. We’re limited to shoulder pads and whats on the Primaris BA upgrade kit.
my main Problem with the Primaris Deathcompany is 2 things. the loadout and the looks. The firstborn kit is a special one just for deathcompany with a lot of heraldy etc. the primaris is just an intercessor boox with the Ba Upgrades painted black.
Great paint job. Im still all for the 1st born , but i just paint. i supose as my eyes deteriate like my spelling the bigger marines will help lol. All the best for 23.
1st born rule. The primaris heresy will be defeated. I have some primaris (they were so cheap), to practice different paint techniques. My 1st born chapter use primaris with their scouts. My sub-faction primaris are called "Guilliman's Ogryn".

its a 2019 (?) christmas battleforce: "Blood Angels Crimson Spear Strike Force". Obviously unavailable now sadly (but you can probably find them on ebay as I did every now and again for a reasonable price)

I've never liked the first born death company models. They have too much crap hanging off them because the actual sculpture is boring to paint in eavy metal, and most people are not good enough to do NMM in black. NMM on a single mini looks great, as an army it looks wrong on the battlefield, and never matches in with rhe vehicles
Primaris are just horrible. I cannot believe that GW destroyed their most unique franchise in WH40K. SM are now boring azz stormtroopers. Save your money and wait for the primaris super new release; each marine will be as tall as two primarchs, have six arms, will shoot lasers out of their eyes and be able to fly. They will be called the Primarisiers.
