After his brother's unexpected and apparent suicide, Steve Emery (Glenn Ford) arrives on the Island of Trinidad to try and learn more about what happened to his younger brother. He meets his brother's wife Chris Emery (Rita Hayworth) in the hopes that she will shed light on the situation.
