I’m sorry to hear Mikey about your sister. I was 7 when my sister passed at age 5 and it has always left a mark on me. God is there in all times. Ty for sharing.
My goodness, thanks for sharing this, Mikey. Not the same situation, but I lost my niece when I was in college (sister is 8 years older than me). She had just turned 11. I was devastated, but hearing your story helps me remember all of the good times. Like you said, always squash those beefs. You just never know what’s going to happen. Much love, my friends.
Sorry for your loss, she is not here physically but they will always be here in the memories we have with them, those can never be taken away from us 👐🏽
Losing someone and not being able to say goodbye is one of the worst things that’s happened in life. My brothers wife, who had been really close to my family got Covid while she was pregnant. Was the first patient to be pregnant and have Covid in the state. Because of all the restrictions only my brother and her mom got to say goodbye. Started tearing up hearing Mikey’s story, thanks for sharing your story.
Mikey...love goes out to your Mom for her generosity of giving donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Without people like her the medications (Trikafta) would not be available today. Cystic Fibrosis is considered an "Orphan Disease" which means there is no government funding for finding a cure for CF. All the advancements in treatment of CF have been solely placed on the community of families that are affected by this disease. Advancements have been made and those whom have donated are the reason why. With genetic modifiers like Trikafta the life expectancy for people that have CF have increased by decades. This hits hard at home for me and my family. Back in the 2010's the life expectancy for someone with CF was 40 years of age, if you were lucky, today this is much higher. Thank you for sharing your story and MUCH thank you goes out to your Mom!
Oh wow thanks for sharing that 👐🏽 yeah my mom did so much with and for my sister, daily helping her out in every way, she is a very loving person and I love her with all my heart 👐🏽
Collectibles will never be dead. As time keeps moving forward so does nostalgia, and with all the licenses esp w Sports pops, and famous shows, movies, comics, anime, there is too many to fail. They are great long term investment if you can keep them MINT. Cheers!
I always have to love the devotion of Mickey standing on that hill of Pops, bootlegs and digital collectibles. Bootleg-heroes is a day trader of sorts. More power to him. Mickey, your IG page is dope, keep it up, still following 👍🏼
From one Michael to another, the best of the best to you, sorry your sister had to leave so early, thank you for sharing this…. Nice video guys… take care!!!
Listen here. When I click on a video on funko pops dying I want a light hearted video on the state of their value. I don’t want my heart strings tugged at. I’m not crying, you’re crying!
I use to be one of the biggest independent sellers in the UK. First 5 years were amazing. I knew there were issues when I saw all the Pops released for Shang Chi.
Got over 600 Funkos and don’t really care about the price value as much anymore. The art on the boxes and Funkos themselves look good in my wall, even if the value slumps to $0 lol
Best part of Funko Pops is if you have any niche media fandom Funko got you covered with some kind of merch. Worst part is when they would fill up the shelves with hundreds of D rank characters and properties and ignore the evergreen S tier. It’s cool they have a Dr. Cox from Scrubs pop. It’s not cool they made thousands of The Eternals that no one would buy,
People are such sheep lol. My best sellling category on Amazon is Funko. I pay all my bills because of Funko. Everyone says it’s dying but the right ones do amazing online. If you’re really into collectibles you know most collectibles are completely worthless. Pokémon cards, video games, comics, etc.
I thought they were neat when they first came out but i hate these things now. I never bought alot of them but my favs are Alien Queen and Godzilla that i own. I find them cheap at garage sales and sell them at my booth and they sell fast lol
I am surprised Pops have lasted so long. I was saying 10 years ago that the Pop bubble was going to pop, no pun intended, but that did not happen. Funko cranks out so many Pops that they saturated the market. Every store now has walls of Pops collecting dust.
San Diego comic con still pumping out exclusives And they sell out fast.. Alot of store selling exclusives like Hot Topic and GameStop and Chase exclusives
Pops remind me of that old episode of CatDog where they go crazy with buying the figures that actually look exactly like Pops and they start chanting “buy more make more, buy more make more”. Anyone remember that?
I went to the Funko store in Hollywood and it was packed. Tons of people with full baskets of pops. Long lines for autographs. Id say it's still going strong. Just like they said, some pops just miss. And others hit. Just need to focus on the good ones.
I always compare Funko Pops to tribbles from Star Trek. You start out with only one. Give it a little time and eventually they've eaten out your space and home. LoL
I stopped collecting because the chase ones were always taken by the employees. they'd open the larger box, find the chase and you'll never get it. this is why i think they should go into funkopop mystery boxes instead.
I don't believe their dead cause I've definitely seen plenty of people buying them in my area. To each their own if it's what you enjoy then by all means collect them.
I stopped buying pops. I only get them as gifts now lol. and I kinda feel bad telling them that i dont want them. I rather get a gift card. Sorry for your loss. May she rest in peace.
People like hating on pops but the Anime ones are on 🔥. The flipping has died down though. You used to sell any exclusive for like $50 but now I think it’s mostly actual fans of the licenses buying. They also didn’t really destroy a bunch of pops the video was the pop board game and I think the pop was MGK that they tossed.
It's funny how you mention Marvel should stick to their well known characters, even though Iron Man and Captain America where considered the lower end in the 90's and '00's (X-men and Spiderman being the popular ones) and The Guardians of the Galaxy where pretty much unknown outside of comic book enthousiasts.
I've never bought a funko pop. I don't hate them. In fact, if I ever come across an 80s character/movie one I would probably buy it. Finding space to display them would be an issue for me.
I like pops because they’re cool figurine/collectible you can put out easily and they’re mostly cheap. Our living room is all Star Wars so we have Star Wars pops. Obviously we have a couple Star Wars action figures also but they don’t stand as well. Then you have to buy a stand for them etc. etc.. Heck our local grocery store sells Funko pops for $10 take them out of the package and then boom display for $10 bucks.
Willy Wonka 2 pack they made 10 of. They were given out atFumkos big party event that they do every year called Funko Fundays. 10 people that found the golden ticket in their box got this piece. Wasn't able to be bought.
Funko is dying but 20,000 Box of Fun boxes of $105 sold out this week with more people not getting selected in the lottery to get them. Funko will always have low-end Funko Pops for everyone but limited ones people are always after and can go for major money fast. It's a publicly traded company that has to sell lots of different things to sell at all different price points. The Funko Fusion Game looks good coming soon! Funko always has a great advantage with licenses.
I've never understood the appeal. You couldn't pay me large amounts to display them at my place. I'd rather roll with Stone Protectors. lol But to each their own! Having different tastes and hobbies are what makes the world go around.
If you like them collect them if you don’t then don’t collect them simple, whether they are worthless or not I couldn’t care less I for one just collect the ones I like.
They printed thousands and thousands and thousands of them. Why would you think they would end up being collectible. Beanie babies.. The list goes on and on and on. 😂🙌
The market seems definitely like beanie babies and the bottom is falling out. Sorry guy, i dont think your collection is worth 35,000 anymore. Resellers and collectors are dumping them left and right now. Better get out while you can.
