Really enjoyed this guys! Those original films are the reason I went into film animation and theme park effects. What an impact they made on both Hollywood and the minds of young toy collectors. Pure genius.

David Prowse was also in A Clockwork Orange, but he was better known here in the UK as the Green Cross Code man, which was a British Road Safety Campaign in the 1970s and 1980s, which I remember from when I was a child of that era. Thank you both for another great podcast!

About the American/British accent thing: Notice that Lucas uses American actors for Luke, his Uncle, Leiah, Han -- essentially all "good guys." Meanwhile the British accent is reserved for the Empire.

Hey guys glad to see u both again. Scott & Mike I was born in Biloxi and lived there till I was 7. Went thru hurricane Camel in 1969 (age 7) Total destruction. Scott saw you today on a show on Reelzs about Dorothy Stratton

Go on RU-vid and watch the auction of Debbie Reynolds movie props and costumes. It is unreal to see all the great items she had. She sold the dress Marilyn Monroe wore in The Seven Year Itch for either 6 million or 7 million, I can't remember which but when the bidding started on that item she walked out and sat in the front row with Carrie. Also view Jordan the Lion's vlogs when he interviewed Todd Fisher in Las Vegas and Todd shows him all the stuff Debbie kept that was not in the auction. Todd has a pair of the original ruby red slippers from the Wizard of Oz !!!

I don't know, was Carrie really Debbie's favorite child? I kind of thought Debbie knew Carrie needed a mother more than Todd did. Debbie used to say she was afraid to die while Carrie was alive. How strange she should pass one day after her daughter.

When I was in high school I bought the original Data action figure which was subsequently recalled. Of course I opened it and played with it. I also have a generation 1 Cabbage Patch kid that was given to me on Christmas and well loved for a decade...

you have to be pretty sad if you are getting upset about a statue we had the same happen here in britain pulling down statues and shouting at statues which was very disturbing i think there is a lot of people with mental health problems well they must be if they are arguing with statues

46:06 Peter Mayhew did not have to audition, I think. He was sitting at a restaurant table and George Lucas walked in and offered his hand. Mayhew stood up and Lucas, seeing how tall he was, hired him on the spot. 🌟

I grew up in Southfield. I kind of miss it a little, NOT the snow! My parents sold the house in the 80s, so if I visit I’m going to have to impose on an old High School friend. Most have moved away like me.

One story Prowse said he got in trouble for doing an interview saying Vader was Luke's father. I think they asked him about something and he said that it would be interesting if Darth Vader was Luke's father, before Empire Strikes Back was out, before anyone got scripts, and that p!$$€d them off.

I just like hearing you guys talk, swapping old Hollywood gossip. I have zero interest in today's woke Hollywood, but never get tired of hearing about the historical days - the storied Hollywood. Scott, you have the best laugh ever; it's very infectious.

I recommend Gloria Swanson's autobiography. It's our of print, but there are copies available. I found a first edition hard cover copy through a used bookstore on Amazon. She began her movie when she was very toung at the age of 14. She worked with Chalie Chaplin and did several movies with Rudolph Valentino, two name a couple of stars, and worked as well with many famous early directors.. She comes through as very down to earth in her autobiography. The book contains so much fascinating history of the old Hollywood, including the locations where early studios were located and where she lived around the world, including several locations in Hollywood.. I have been fascinatedd with her ever since first seeing "Sunset Boulevard", and was nominated for best actress that year but lost out to Judy Holliday in "Born Yesterday."

Hey guys love your work. As far as Star Wars is concerned, I'm a child of the 60s and 70s graduated high school in the 80s. And I'm sorry but the original Star Wars stuff as fondly as I perhaps we remember it really was atrocious in terms of horrible dialogue and crappy acting. The special effects were great, and that helped gloss over a lot of the flaws in the original 3 movies but after that sorry no anything anyone has to say about George Lucas screwing it up later at cetera as far as I'm concerned that's just because the audience had matured to the point of noticing just how crappy things were.

Great entertainment guys, really enjoyed it. The Wombles were a little group who secretly lived in Wimbledon common, a London park. The cleared up and made use of junk and trash left by people. Mike Batt, the creator, who is also a composer (He wrote Bright Eyes, sung by Art Garfunkle) There was an animated puppet series and many number one hits.
