Evening all! Hope you’re all having a merry little week. Thanks for tuning in for another video; really, your support has been incredible all year long. I think this one could be a world first, so I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed eating it (really deep fried parsnips could be the greatest discovery of the decade). I’ll be back with another episode this Sunday, if you’ve had enough of Tim Allen movies, oh and keep your eyes peeled over the course of the next few hours for something special ;)
When I was homeless, bags of frozen sprouts were 76c for a 32oz bag. Sprouts literally may have saved my life. You show some respect to those little fellas, Mr.
individually nah, if you mash them and make a paste that is somewhat solid then dip it on the batter and fry it yeah, I did it once with Lentils and was Ok...
I'm seeing an uptick in recent comments, joining others as well watching in Xmas season for 2022. Just discovered your channel about 3 months ago and it's so entertaining! Props to the algorithms to recommend me an Xmas video around now.
This reminds me of The Simpsons when Moe opens his own restaurant, and the TV advert shows that they can deep fry the whole tray including the wine bottle, cutlery and the actual tray itself.
Its crazy how good beard has gotten at this YT thing. His editing, his music choices, his confidence when speaking.. overall, a massive change to his old self. I literally remember when I found his channel when he had 5k subs and I decided not to sub cuz he was too "boring" but I subbed at 100k so I feel like I've seen him grow. Love you brother stay safe
Gotta say pal, iv watched tons and tons of randy and katina kids, which are great but I think I prefer ur vids, great to watch. Well done. Look forward to the next
"you don't need to say 'deep fried' when talking about the items when they're all deep fried". Also beard in commentary: "I loved the deep fried parsnips."
What even is his catchphrase, its just a noise isn't it? If it is an actual phrase I'd love to know what it is coz it doesn't sound like anything to me
We deep fry turkey for Thanksgiving but with no batter, delicious! Glad you got the sprouts down lol, they looked good! Congratulations, I like your Christmas series, Merry Christmas Beard!!
Parsnips are my favourite vegetable, and I love anything fried. How have I never tried battered Parsnips?? Can't wait to make some. Cheers for the tip. And congratulations, as always 😀
Wow, battered stuffing and carrots 😂 you take on all these challenges with ease now its impressive 2 or 3 of anything on that plate I'd struggle ! Great job
@@borusa32 this is basically the cilantro argument. About 50% of the world pop. has a gene that makes Brussel sprouts taste bitter and gross. You're both right you just aren't tasting the same thing.
@@MrJbkilla Unacceptable!!! Brussel sprouts redefine disgusting. Any food requiring some kind of coating, burn beyond recognition or a treatment that alters their chemical makeup, to approach palatability can NOT be described as a food...lol!
@@billyboblillybob344 Brussels are the most delicious when they boiled in water and lightly salted, maybe a bit of peppercorn but that's it, best side food ever! 😁
@@billyboblillybob344 Your argument really doesn't hold water when you consider how much preparation is required to make chocolate palatable. However Brussel sprouts are adequately tasty just boiled with salt, any additional ingredients is just a bonus.
people talkin about cookin brussel sprouts with bacon and cheese?? we just eat em roasted in the oven with salt, pepper and sometimes balsamic vinegar. theyre delicious steamed with butter too. the differences in taste amongst us western folks is always interesting to me
It's a turkey quarter (leg and thigh). Thigh has one bone, a couple knuckles and the rest is meat. Leg has some big tendons, all the meat is around one joint, in big pieces.
IN the mid-late 70s (1976 i think) we had a very hot dry summer and there was a shortage of potatoes for chips. It was so bad there were numerous TV programmes suggesting alternatives to potatoes for chips. Parsnips was suggested as one alternative. They were fine, just a bit sweeter than potato chips. I do have mushy peas at Christmas. As well as Brussels, which I love.
I actually like brussels sprouts. I was surprised because everyone kept talking like they were disgusting. They're not, at least to me. Lol maybe I'm the weird one.
If I'm ever peeling a lot of potatoes and carrots, I pat the skins dry, put a little salt, and deep fry them until crispy. They are deep fried, but the skins contain a lot of other nutrients, and the kids love them. I was surprised how good the carrot skins come out (though you don't want to overdo them).
Proper way to eat a turkey leg: When cooked, the meat begins to separate from the bone at the narrow end. Grab onto this and pull it completely apart from the larger bone. Most of the gristle/tendons will be attached at the bottom. It's easy to navigate through the edible meat at this point. Once this is done, what gristle/tendon that remains on the larger bone is minimal and can be consumed easily as well.
@Dank Sinatra well this is just disappointing, I thought u were gonna get pissed off so I could troll you it's often very fun to mess with angry people on RU-vid, it's the way of my master NUXTAKU. Real shame.
Heya from South Africa. Sorry I'm late to watching this vid... but a trick for brussel sprouts that I use is Mayonaise. Changes the flavour entirely. Eat on!
If brussel sprouts scare you, try this: Par boil the sprouts and let them cool down. Now cut them in half and throw them in a frying pan with a LOT of butter, throw in some garlic, bacon pieces and onion. Let all sit on VERY low heat and move it around every minute. You don't want anything burnt. You done? Ok, 4-6 eggs in and make an omelette, salt and peppar and you're done. It is easy and very tasty, you don't feel the sprouts.
For Americans who can’t understand him like me, this is in Whitby, Yorkshire England. Made easy work of that. If there was ever a time to ask for the dessert menu it’s Christmas tho
To get the most off of a turkey leg the easiest, first hold it by the joint with your whole hand, take the meat in your other hand, roughly where the calf meets the bone, and twist like you're wringing a towel. You'll break the small bone off along with the cartilage and be able to remove the femur entirely. Next, open the bulb of meat up like a book - it will naturall split open at a seam of meat; you should now be able to locate the small bone which will likely be connected to the cartilage. You can pull the whole bit out. I've broken down my fair share of birds.
I once did deep-fried parsnips once thought I tried it, and it was nice, but unfortunately, I have not got a deep fryer anymore I've watched nearly all your videos and this is in top 10 as my favourite videos that you have done.
Hey Beard ... i like that you don't go overboard plugging the places you eat at... dropping their name at the start and complimenting the food if you feel it's worthy seems enough. You haven't sold out and i'll keep watching you throw food down your neck for that and many other reasons. Merry Xmas to you and yours.
I hated sprouts. Until i tried them oven roasted with salt and garlic Toss n olive oil, lots of chopped garlic, salt generously - roast till blackened in spots. Pretty good. Never tried them deep fried though.
For as much as you dislike sprouts, I LOVE THEM! Can you hear me across the pond?? Cheers from Cupertino, California. Oh yeah, tell Mrs. Beard: Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
I was brought up in Scarborough and North Yorkshire Moors, and have a lot of good memories of Whitby. Thanks for reminding me of them, somehow through stuffing your gob of food.
I am a fussy eater on a very similar level to Lindsay and there are very few vegetables I tolerate - but I can manage a couple of sprouts easier than lots of other veg. The less bitter the better though.
I honestly don't know how you can eat so much on every challenge, it's like its not a challenge, you are a bottomless pit, love your catchphrase by the way 👏👏
I’m from the US and every time you say “pig in a blanket” I think it a sausage wrapped in a pancake. Not used to hearing it be a sausage wrapped in bacon 😂
I had my first deep fried whole turkey about 20 years ago.. I injected it with garlic and herb butter and let it marinate overnight.. Cooked it for only 45 minutes on Superbowl Sunday! 😉
Baby, sprouts are just small cabbage. i normally just cut them in half steam them for about 15 mins then put them in an oven pan with olive oil, lemon pepper, and garlic powder and finish cooking them.
I always laugh because there's a lot of people that call gołąbki, or stuffed cabbage, pigs in a blanket. It's so nice when people use the correct names for food. pigs in a blanket = pancake wrapped sausage... or in this case deep ass fried hhahahaha
I would love to try this, but not that big. I don’t know why people are trolling you about different things, you and Mrs. Beard are two of the sweetest people.
