This video series has been in the works for quite some time now. In it we discuss the history of the Bulgarian Arsenal AD (circle10) AK47 variants here in the USA.
In part 1, we look at the earliest imports andUS assembled kit guns from both Arsenal-USA (later Armory-USA) and Arsenal Inc. (Las Vegas, NV).
Also, we mention a few other early importers such as Dominion Investment Group and Intrac.
Featured rifles include: SA-93, SLR-95, SLR-96, SSR-99, SSR-99P, K-101, SLR-100H, SLR-101S, SLR-102, SA M-7, SA M-5, SA RPK-7, SA M-7 Classic, SAS M-7 Classic, SLR-105A1, SLR-106F, SLR-107FR, SLR-107UR, SLR-106CR, SLR-106UR, SLR-107CR, and a few more besides.
This part spans from 1993 through 2006 or there abouts. Part 2 will pick up from there and run through 2017, so if your favorite Arsenal isn't in this video, no worries, it hasn't been forgotten.
And in advance, thank you so much for hanging out with us for nearly an hour!

I just left my FFL with a brand new Arsenal AK . Its not my first AK but it is my first Arsenal !! . I scored a SLR - 107R with the black furniture , yes Kvar got a batch of 107R's in stock !!! Ive been trying to score a Arsenal stamped receiver AK for a long while with out having to pay outrageous ' Scalper prices that Arsenal SLR and SGL rifles are selling for on the second hand market . Anyway I love this channel I used to think I knew a lot about Kalashnikov patterned rifles until I stumbled upon Mishaco's channel. Its all the little fine details that sets this channel apart and not regarding all the little details of the rifles thereselves but also all the historical info that you share . Keep the great work up !!

Got it set up in AR-M9F configuration right now. Scored the pistol grip for $80, handguards for $100, and the Bulgarian chrome lined egg beater for $150. Did I do good on the AR-M9F parts? Great video! My first gun was a SLR 95 I picked up at a outdoorsmen store in California in early 95'. At this point she is pretty much a safe queen, that's never been fired. Has a welded 3 chamber hider and thumb hole stock. The lower tang is missing, but the spot has been milled to take a tang and rivets. D LG VA. BCH. VA. as importer. This was a great run down on the Arsenal Company. I bought an SLR-101S for $1,100 I think it was around 2012 or maybe 2013. I still own it and love that rifle.

@RedPillVegan

26:12 So the SLR-101S is the last true Bulgarian factory import? After that (Arsenal Incorporated Las Vegas Nevada) went to the SA M7. The SLR-101S was imported and they reconfigured various US parts onto it ie - removing the thumbhole stock, using 4-5 USA parts like stock, pistol grip, trigger group... But When they went to SA M7 they began using parts kit+80% receiver assembly here in USA. What about the SLR 101S models they released "late batch" around 2012? Were these the same as the ones from the early 2000s or built more like the SA M7? My main question: is the SLR 101s the last Bulgarian factory import? Thanks Jay and Misha if you can reply to clarify

I love these AK story times with Misha.. It's interesting how people have particular preferences when it comes to AK's, that really don't have any effect or influence on how the rifle preforms. Things that are highly desired by some such as bulged trunniuns verse non bulged, mag dimples versus none. The 90° gas blocks, verse the 45° ones.. You can have 5 different AK's, all stock with wooden furniture. An each one can have a different design and unique features, that only people who appreciate AK's will notice and pay attention to.. Like a Zastava having 3 ports in the front handguard which is longer as well, instead of 2 like basically every other AK.

Been waiting for something like this because I ran across a slr100
@ozarkbeararms8840
@ozarkbeararms8840 6 лет назад
Well...SLR-100 could have been one of the Intrac contract Gordon Techs, one of the non-contract Blue Ridges, one of the Vector builds, or just a stripped receiver that someone assembled at home. All SLR-100/100H marked guns originally were just imported as virgin receivers from Bulgaria. Then all kinds of things happened with them once here in the USA. They were actually pretty common and popular for custom builds back 2000-2005.
@historyandhorseplaying7374
@historyandhorseplaying7374 Год назад
I have an SLR-100H, back in 2000 I ordered the kit, I remember it came with the brand new beautiful milled receiver, and a kit containing a REALLY beat up looking barrel and chopped receiver. You were supposed to send it off to the company, they would assemble it, and send the completed gun to your FFL. I remember thinking the chopped receiver/barrel looked REALLY rough and well-used… but upon final receipt the gun looked great though the wood furniture looked like it had been through both Chechen wars, which was fine by me. I was afraid it would shoot terrible but no, it’s still accurate to this day. I wouldn’t say they are “pretty common” though, as only a few hundred H’s were made. Rare but not necessarily in a good way!

also another question .. a lot of people I speak to about the ARSENAL SLR 104UR say that if you get the factory SBR that the barrel was made as a SBR barrel and not cut down .. because supposedly the sbr models have the chrome lining spewing out the end of the barrel .. is this true? any proof of this? when I bought a Bulgarian 545x39 aksu barrel from kvar the chrome lining is not spewing out the front of the barrel it tells me that the barrel was cut down and not made originally as a 8.3 inch barrel to begin with how you claim... can you clear this up please ?

From my research, the SSR-85C-2s marked armory USA, Bulgaria ISD LTD, and not Tgi to my understanding, are very much built in Bulgaria, on a production line led by Ivan Kolev, from Type3 Military rifles, dismantled and new inner parts built back up on the 1.6mm Bulgarian receiver imported here by armory USA as single stack rifles, and milled out here to accept double stack, the ones marked TGI, are after armory USA went out, and are the 1mm receiver with welded on muzzle brakes, and QC was way off then. I've seen other posts from you on other sites, stating" they were just build kits after Arsenal USA changed to Armory USA, i have one marked made in Bulgaria by ISD LTD SSR-85C-2 cal 7.62x39 can you please inform me how to read and understand the serial#

did Hector Benit sell Krink parts kits back in the day? I got a parts kit and I was told it was bought from a tool and die store ... the kit had a Bulgarian ISD commercial virgin front trunnion that measured to a 1.5 mm receiver type .. Russian rear folder trunnion that was milled down to size.. a few of the parts like the bolt and recoil spring were also Russian .. and the original 762 bulgy Krink barrel was marred up pretty bad.. was fixable .. had to get some kvar trunnions and built into a fine krink.. just wanted to know if maybe the parts came from Hector ..

They really need to bring back the affordable SLR series especially the SLR-104 and the slr-104 that is the AKS-74 and other 74 variants, and offer the 107, I finally got a arsenal sam7sf AK, but the the stamped series was in my opinion my favorite. If I was of age at the time I totally would have snagged a Bulgarian AKS-74 slr series rifle when they used to be cheap, but they started getting up in price when I was of age 18 they were over priced, I still think milled Sam series is overpriced to I got lucky and got one in a trade deal for pvs14

Mishaco, I recently purchased an SSR99. It's not the P version, it is the original SSR99 that was also Gordon Tech. I bought it for less than the price of a new SLR107R. It has the "G" stamp on the underside of the barrel. Is there anybody here that knows what these are worth now? I cannot find anything online- only one thread on a forum talking about their production. As far as the worth goes, I have no clue what this is worth. I'm not trying to sell it, but I haven't seen a single post, video (besides this, with you briefly talking about it), or ad for one of them being sold. Anyone here know anything more, or own one yourself? Mine was fired once by the previous owner, I disassembled it to discover that it was still full of cosmoline- it is in mint condition.

Slim market awareness on these IMO - I saw a gordon tech ssr go for around $1100 pre pandemic in a penny auction on gunbroker with many bids - then i think i saw one list maybe end of 2020 as a high reserve auction and it did not sell at $2499 and was not relisted If you decide to sell, drop me a reply

I bought a new SA 93 sometime in 1994. It came with the thumb hole red wood stock. Milled. Chrome lined. Etc. still in excellent shape. Any comments will be appreciated. Thanks

We have one....actually have a tripod and also a pricy monopod that i found 2nd hand for a crazy good price. Each year, we put what spare money we can into equipment. Remember, we're not making a dime here; no ads or anything.

We have a separate video on the history of Arsenal-USA/Armory-USA, which is where your rifle came from.

Ok ive done alot more Research, The SSR-85C-2 with its combo may be one of the finest AK's imported from Bulgaria, They Buy Pristine "Real Type3 AK-47's" from the Bulgarian Ministry Of Defense, take them apart and build the SSR-85C-2 on their 1.6mm receivers all on the production line as long as its not marked (TGI) TGI was after Armory USA, so to say they are parts kits is only kind of half rite, because they are built from Real type3 AK-47 parts from the military rifles, but all done at ISD Bulgaria, under the Supervision of Ivan Kolev, they have the thicker real Styer Processed Hammer Forged Chrome lined Barrel, so i would say they are more of a (True Factory Production Rifle) other than just a parts kit, they are fully built in Bulgaria, again on a production line, with Bulgarian military rifle parts taken from type3 AK-47 rifles and reassembled rite there on a Bulgarian 1.6mm receiver, with new parts like Trunions, Mag catch, Trigger Guard, and i also read at the time with their combo of stuff, they were the only stammped 1.6mm ever built in Bulgaria, that combo was only done in China before, and the later ones had 1/2X28 RH thread slant muzzle breaks, In the Ak Forum i got alot of info as well, and the factory who built them, plus people in the forum that say these could very well be the best Imported AK's ever from Bulgaria.
