It’s worthy to note that stealth burst can’t be reflected back at you. The explosion can be reflected but you won’t be near enough to the opponent if they do so. The explosion can be absorbed however.
Good guide, though it's kinda useless because everyone knows that the best Gunner moveset is Grenade Launch, Gunner Missile, Lunar Launch, and Bomb Drop for maximum KABOOM! It's kinda like playing as Snake except you don't have to worry about boring shit like cooking grenades, aiming the missile, or worrying about where your C4 is. You just spam like a Belmont but cooler because you do it while dressed up as Sinsabelle, which is Sans' head on Isabelle's body.
Mate I just picked up gunner to camp my friends for fun and uhh this is the excact move set I made, and yes they all think I’m horrible and are probably deleting my mii gunner as we speak
You can also make a point for flame pillar charge shot, because at 0 flame pillar flame pillar charge shot is true on every character and does 60%. Flame pillar charge shot is always true at any percent and does 47 percent, but kills off the side at 60 or higher. At around 90-100, flame pillar charge shot kills no matter what. Gunner missile charge shot works only at specific percents, and it is more committal and harder to execute because it’s not true if you don’t predict the enemy being hit by the missile. Having grenade launch gunner missile is better in neutral, but in my opinion having such an easy kill confirm with high damage is much better, because it is already fairly easy for gunner to win neutral due to having bomb drop and flame pillar/gunner missile.
And thus, the end to the great Mii fighter trilogy! As a guy who loves to play all the Miis ( Major Brawler fan ), these videos have been great and very useful. Good work :)
My gunner build: -charge shot -lunar blast -bomb drop -flame pillar Extremely good for preventing pressure and approaches and also veru effective for ledge trappig and edge guarding while also having insane recovery.
The fact Mii Gunner can choose to be Samus but also just do other things is amazing. "Oh, the charge shot, bombs, and missles? Yeah, got those. And grenades, lasers, absorbers, and this gun actually helps me recover instead of me having to turn into a ball just to get by, what of it?"
I’ll always argue that gunner is just better samus if you use CS, GM, CJK and BD cuz the side and down b are my favorite frame traps (cuz missile and bomb are safe on shield at decent distances) and it allows for easy combo’s with CS and CJK. The only true advantage samus has is her grab
@@thunderstar7682 I am coming to the conclusion that we end up woth a bad Samus version if we copy her abilities because basicly almost every base stat of gunner is worse than Samus', there is a reddit thread that compares them both and samus has muuuch more advntages - I personally think the top gunner mains should stop using the Samus abilities as Samus just does it better
Imo Laser Blaze is good in a few MUs, like Steve since you can interrupt mining, forcing them to spend time and resources to build a wall in front of them
Laser blaze (neutral special) is definitely slept on in this video. Its hella spammable and does *five percent damage* with each bullet, which, considering how fast it can shoot, is really obnoxious for the opponent to deal with.
This is an amazing guide! I liked how you break down the cons as well as the pros because often people only look at the pros of a move. My personal loadout is charge shot, flame pillar, lunar launch, and bomb drop. Because of flame pillar and charge shot’s ridiculous synergy.
I like this but a few things to mention. Charge shot & sektor missile work well against reflectors, as if one gets reflected the other will cancel the projectile if you use both near the same time. Cyrax bomb/ Bomb drop I believe had super armor a while back during the first few frames of the bomb spawning. Which can allow you to tank 2 projectiles with 1 bomb if it’s necessary.
I had a feeling that needed some clearing up. Basically, those characters' ledge hang animations make it so that sometimes they poke up high enough to get hit, and sometimes they don't.
On Flame Pillar, something else to mention, it can give you a setup for a kill if it lands. Use a fully charged Charge Shot while they’re stuck in the fire. It’s not 100% consistent but it’s worked most of the times I’ve done it
Close range Gunner is actually pretty fun. Grenade Launch, Flame Pillar, Cannon Jump Kick, and Bomb Drop make for a Gunner who can’t exactly zone you out, but can be a menace if you get too close.
I would also like to add something to the stealth burst. If you combo it with Charge Blast you can fake out your opponent by charging it up just to do a stealth burst, they may pull out a deflector or shield which may leave them open to get grabbed, which then you can do f-throw into the charge blast you had saved.
Admittedly the CJK isn't amazing but considering one of my most played characters is Luigi... stupidly shortranged but extremely powerful and fast out of shield kill moves seem to work more often than they should, even against players better than me. Also style points, so I just consider it worth it. Also, I legitimately forgot Stealth Blast exists. May have to try it out sometime.
I use Charge Shot, CJK, Stealth blast and Bomb Drop, and was pretty sad to see it being rated as unviable, cuz I use it a lot and it's a rly strong and cool move
I am similar (1133), as Flame Pillar is awesome, but I use Charge Shot instead. Online, I go default Absorber (as it looks cooler), but it is annoying to then get matched into a Zelda. But when you switch to Reflector, a Bowser/Palutena is pretty much guaranteed, lol. Across all potential matchups, default Reflector probably makes more sense though (more things seem to be reflectable-only than absorbable-only), and Reflector is even a few frames quicker for turning around for Fair recoveries against non-projectile characters.
Genuinely every of Mii gunner's specials are super cool and have very interesting synergies with eachother. Obviously grenade launch, gunner missile, and bomb drop have the most superior combination of stage control and recovery, and the same combination but with charge shot is equally top tier by being better samus except without a teather grab (or zair/teather recovery). I would argue flame pillar is weak with grenade launch and that it is overglorified with charge shot but actually synergizes well with laser blaze for close stage control. Laser blaze also synergizes better with cannon jump kick than the other neutral specials which are better at killing
I wish the Mii Gunner included better special attacks that are capable of killing in low percentages, These special attacks will be Metal Slug weapons, I would like them to include the Rocket Launcher, Super Granade, Enemy Chaser, Laser Gun, Flame Shot, Shot Gun, Thunder Shot, Drop Shot, and all their upgraded versions of the weapons I mentioned above with the ability to kill at 0%.
Another upside of laser blaze: staling Similar to good fox players, having a option to quickly remove any previous staling is pretty powerful, the move itself isn't strong but the damage over time and spam ability really makes them more aggressive
Bomb Drop is so bad, the best use is edgeguarding, but we can do it even better with Flame Pillar. And Echo Reflector is the same Absorbing Vortex but reflector with a bit more damage, and less range, and restore life is even best than a Reflector. Neutral-B... The option 1 it takes a long time to charge, and it's easy to evade, if something reflect and hit you (beacuse when you hit has much end lag) You can die. And the option 3 is so slow and less efective, and has a lot of lag. The Side-B Stealth Trust is hard to hit, and it leaves you vulnerable when you are using it. The missile it's nice, but Flame Pillar is superior... And is a similar thing to Laser Blaze, but with more knockback and range, but more slow and laggy.
That's like 90% optimal actually! If you wanted to make it 100%, you could change your down B to bomb drop, but that's a very solid combination already.
@@helios3557 Wait, it is? Neat. I might just need some Forward Air practice, I'm more used to MegaMan-style zoning, not to mention Gunner's F-air has some unique properties. I'll probably not be changing Down B though since I'm keeping a reference. This is really good to know though, thanks a lot!
Watching this after a Mii Gunner used Laser Blaze to beat Void's Sheik in SWT. Definitely a viable move. Tweek was also very impressed with the move when watching the set.
The biggest upgrade to my Gunner was a costume that made it instantaneously clear which way he/she is facing while in the air for easier Fair movement shenanigans. That, and spamming Up Tilt
Hey thanks thisll come in handy. Ive been learning gunner as a secondary. I made a cowboy mii, his moves are: Charge shot Flame pillar Rocket jump And absorbing vortex. Thoughts? Any tips are aporeciated.
Something you forgot to mention is that if you get hit while charging Stealth Burst, it keeps going without you and automatically explodes at max range, allowing for situational combos, or sitcombs for short
For some reason, I always preferred flame pillar over miisile. Moves like that are often a tad too technical for my taste. Also, the sheer rush you get from essentially using robins limited side-b infinitely is unrivaled (at least, for me.) when I use flame pillar with grenade launch, I can make my opponent miserable at ledge. even quickplay zeldas hate me.
I wish they didn't drop the balls in regards of polishing the Mii Fighters. There's barely any outfits unique to the Mii Fighters in Ultimate and don't even have their portrait in the VS Splash Screen. Let's not forget that they don't even keep their Mii names in the replays. I love Mii characters and it's such a step back from SSB4. Well, at least they got improvements otherwise, like finally voices and more competitive-friendly.
Thanks for the videos, now I know what to and what not to use when playing as my childhood characters, also, I checked what ability does the most damage for each Mii: 🥊: ESK [exploding side kick (don't use this piece of 💩) 🗡️: Burning blade ( I prefer the shuriken) 🔫: Charge blast.
@@helios3557 Yeah as much as I was joking, sometimes using unviable moves is still darn fun, and its always good to know its pros and cons of the moves because darn fun just gets even more fun when you know how and when to use it.
Here is how to create the swaggiest looking Mii Brawler I ever created: (I recommend having the Default Mii brawler appearance for this or a Mii that looks angry for a better result) -Bicker Gear (Any colour, but looks better with Black) -Travis haircut ($0,75) -Voice 9/high With that, you have made a Mii that looks like the leader of the most dangerous gang of the USA
I catch people out with stealth burst all the time online, but as you said. I think it's just people can't see it, or they don't know the matchup. Another good thing about stealth burst is in doubles specifically you can surprise an enemy at the back of the pack that thinks they're safe by bypassing the first one. Gets them 80% of the time. Might have to try out missiles and grenade on your suggestion.
i think there are some moves that mii gunner just inspired. Charge Blast: Samus' Blast Laser Blaze: Fox's Laser Flame Pillar: Robin's arcfire or Ness' PK Fire Bomb Drop: Samus' Bomb Drop Echo Reflector: Fox's Echo Reflector Absorbing Vortex: Ness' PK Magnet
I would argue that stealth burst's lack of interaction with projectiles is a pro and a con, you can theoretically hit your opponent through their projectile barrage, but on the other hand your move will not halt any of their projectiles allowing them to possibly hit you before your move hits them (the ability to deal damage to a foe on the other side of a team mate does give it a boost in usefullness during doubles with tram attack on but you could also lob grenades over a team mate to hit foes on the other side of your team mate
i play mii gunner way more often than i probably should... just because i like my nostalgia critic mii my explosion-prioritized moveset of 3212 has made me really good at sniping with stealth burst recently ive been experimenting with reflector instead of bomb drop but i will never get rid of bomb drop permanentely
