You know what else is yellow and pink? The Undertale Spare text color, there's a Froggit that lets you turn it from yellow to pink.

HalfBreadChaos is such a good theorist, it seems that they know every speck of detail in the Undertale/Deltarune whether if it’s in the code or not. Always great to have a person that thinks outside of the discussion to compress evidence and strive to have one solution, you’re great as well! i must say that watching the sweepstakes was the most close that i was to being in drugs that i ever was.

Wait, if Gaster influences the secret bosses' eyes or something- "Only eyes blinded by darkness can see the way..."

Speaking of the significance of Spamton's eye colours, following how light works in real life, if you add magenta, yellow, and cyan lights together it makes white. If you move in the opposite direction, red, green, and blue are the closest to black. The lightners are cyan, magenta, and yellow...ish. The darkner characters are so far green and blue (Ralsei and Lancer). Spamton's two eye colours are only missing cyan to be white, like light. Which Kris happens to be in the dark world.

Another connection to make that Bread brought up in a video is how that weird basement smile resembles a Cheshire cat, then after it disappears, the teacup ride appears. Not sure what to do with this Alice in Wonderland reference, but it's something to stick a pin in. Also, the eye colors match up with Spamton and element 6 is [Puppet/Cat], but again there isn't really anything to do with that information yet. Also mentioning Noelle's mom, I didn't think much about Noelle's "Holiday family ninja style" remark during the sweepstakes and thought she was just being a dork, but if what Alphys said about not needing the police because of the Mayor is true and the thing that attacked the bandits at night was also Noelle's mom, then she might actually be a badass 😬

28:58 I think people just don't want to randomly bring it up, but Asriel's a very safe and nice topic to bring up, especially since seeing Kris would make npc's think of Asriel When I was in middle school, a very close friend's mom died of a heart attack, leaving their dad to continue raising the family on his own. I gavs my condolences and went to the funeral, but after that I never purposefully brought it up because I knew things were hard enough on their family

I dont know if this is common knowledge or not but the basis of undertales story is based off of irish mythology. The tuatha de​ danann (monsters) were driven underground by the milesians (humans) The tuatha de​ danann are often described as fallen angels or descendants of fallen angels, which are neither good or bad. Following that logic, would make all monsters fallen angels. But following undertales logic, humans can be angels too. Which means basically anyone who fell into the underground/was driven underground or is a descendant of someone who was counts as some form of fallen angel If you apply that logic to deltarune along with everything deltarune has said about angels, you get an essay I cant fit into a comment It's definitely some food for thought

I actually had a mini theory about Jevil and Spamton sharing visual similarities with Gaster. The idea is that by selling your soul to someone in Deltarune, you are warped into sharing visual similarities to that person. My evidence was that during the Spamton Sweepstakes Livestream, it is heavily implied that Spamton A. Spamton sold his Soul to the real Spamton. Not to mention in the Q&A, someone asked Spamton "Why do you look like that", to which Spamton responded essentially saying "Give me your soul and find out" However, the livestream isn't canon at all, so I don't think this theory is true. Maybe it's an idea worth keeping though?

With the smiling face in the basement I never thought it was Spamton simply because Spamton can't smile like that and again he just can't enter the basement

I think people might not talk about Dess because it feels indecent. Bringing up someone who has disappeared would very probably be in bad taste. Not to mention, we know how Dess’s disappearance affected people other than the Holiday’s. It’s implied Asgore resigned from his position on the force after her disappearance, and its Very possible that that might have been what caused the rift in his and Toriel’s marriage.

One thing about Dess I want to add is that in Noelle's room, the reason why she has a calendar where every day is Christmas, is probably because she was trying to find her sister's page after it was taken down (The error message page) by searching December Holiday, but the only search result was Christmas. The reason when it's on every page is either because she checked everyday, or just generally checked it over and over again.

it seems that deltarune theories go one of two ways: Either it goes really in depth -- analyzing patterns and trying to grasp at lose ends -- connecting anything and everything to speculate upon. Or two -- circling back to the nature of Toby Fox's writing, where anything could be a troll or a red herring, and proceed to push the perceived "threads" under the rug.

I absolutely feel for Out_Sin near the end when you guys were running in circles talking about Dess being forgotten, he absolutely nailed it with just stating “guys… it’s been 2 days in game, why would she need to be brought up?” I could tell he wanted to speak up that whole time.

Loving this! While we're talking about darkness enveloping the house, I thought of a weird "meta" implication if it does get to Kris/Asriel's room. Remember that drawer whose contents vary depending on your save slot? While they aren't the most exciting items in the world, those differences might in principle impact the dark world in some way in Chapter 3. If this mechanic is ever going to be expanded on in some way, Chapter 3 would probably be the time.

Wait, aren’t the Spamton eye colors the same as the spare colors in UNDERTALE? Like, same hex code and everything? Wonder what that could mean…

12:12 An interesting thing about this line that I didn't see get discussed is that it's a slightly altered version of a line from the end of Hamlet: "And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!" I doubt it really means anything lore-wise but it's still interesting to note that it isn't a totally original Toby Fox/RTVS creation (depending on who was responsible for that particular line).

Toby Fox almost certainly at least reviewed the Spamton Sweepstakes event to make sure nothing crazy inaccurate was being said, but I personally doubt he directly wrote the script. I've watched a lot of RTVS event streams before and the dialogue just oozes with Scorpy-style humor, as well as Wayne's usual improv. there are also at least a few people in the group who are big fans of the games, so that explains a lot of the deeper references.

I think it would be cool if Dess was trapped "out of bounds" but in the light world and in order to save her the Delta Warriors have to become aware that they're in a game world too; maybe Kris already is and is looking for someone (aka the player) who can sequence break the game since they aren't able to themself just like we humans couldn't do it to our world even if we were aware of that (exept for Neo in the Matrix for example) The reason why it could be possible is that I have the theory that the "Dess-vanishing-accident" happend while the kids were in the woods messing around at the bunker (maybe to find Ice-E idk). It's known that Kris has trauma from that bunker and there's also a connection to Gaster because of the garbage noise that plays there. Since it's kind of established at the beginning that Gaster is meta aware and aware that the light world is a game world (survey programme, goner maker...) I think that at the bunker there would be tools to mess with the light world structure if he had realized that it's a game world too.

Angel with tattered wings. Noelle, in the Weird Route, was inching closer and Closer to BECOMING the Angel, but ultimately, she didn't make it to that point. That's why she's the Angel with tattered wings. Her wings sprouted, but she couldn't fly. Makes one think about the idea that the player is the Angel's Heaven, which is one way to describe *the person place or thing that causes,or will cause, or would have caused, the Angel (which is a title bestowed upon a character, not a character themselves) to manifest.

This whole podcast has just made me realize how insane it's going to be when the whole game drops. It's going to take dozens of hours to get a decent grasp of the story, and then countless more to find all the extremely obscure events and conversations that can happen

Yellow eyes are an interesting motif. Undyne, Sans, Jevil, Suisie, Spamton, Swatch, Tasque Manager and the face in the basement all have yellow eyes.

I'm gonna pull a crazy & say that "The angel's hymn." is hinting that "The angel is HIM." It's probably not true but I'll look smart in several years if it is.

I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone else comment about this, but... While the colors switch in a few instances, Spamton usually has a yellow left eye and a pink right eye, while the thing in the basement has a pink left eye and a yellow right eye. Smile Friend isn't Spamton, but rather another character. Maybe part of the [Cathode Crew], but that's speculation.

I really like the way that you guide conversation and make sure everyone is listened to. In a chaotic and potentially emotionally-charged discussion, you keep people on track and heard. Really cool!

One more thing I want to put out there: what if the wave and ocean sounds was the sound of the dark fountains? The “what if we can get darker than dark” line on the website with the ocean noises may be a reference to the dark fountains. When Kris created a dark fountain in chapter 2, it also sounds sort of like a ocean wave or if you were under water.

This is so great! I love all the differing angles you guys take to piece this unfinished lore together, whether Andrew's more logical analysis, bread's deep knowledge of the game, or Jaru's speculation for future chapters, you all play off each other really well! Really hope u guys make more in the future

I wanted to comment on Spamton's eye colour and the "thing" in the basement. So, Spamton's sprites have Left lens Pink, Right lens Yellow. The "thing" in the basement and the eyes from the chair have Left lens Yellow, Right lens Pink. What's interesting is Spamton NEO's eyes are also Left lens Yellow, Right lens Pink. It's really odd, I don't know if this is an inconsistency by Toby or a hint towards something. Anyways, great podcast! All you guys make great content! :)

Here is a little thing i wanted to talk about, 2:59 so Spamton and Jevil have the yellow color in their eyes and Sans eye blinks blue and yellow, so far every character connected to Gaster has yellow eyes!

overall i think Waterfall becomes more and more significant with each Deltarune chapter update/lore drop. so many fun value events happen there, ocean.ogg is there, Onionsan references a very old song they heard from the sea but cannot remember the name, the other water audio that drips is the same audio in Waterfall where you are walking past the actual waterfalls with falling rocks- now also associated with the blue chair w/the coat on it, Suzy is referenced by Clam Girl there, it's the first place we hear about the Delta Rune & the Angel of Death, & there's definitely more i'm missing. also, during rhe Sweepstakes, the post that has the random door and all the blue stuff- i think it's also supposed to reference the ocean & create a deeper connection to a mysterious place that contains a mysterious door. it's always been a very mysterious place in Undertale. i'm not saying it'll all come back around to UT (i don't want it to), but just that more things are crossing over in into DR in even more mysterious ways.

I always interpreted Jevil's face to be a weird ass mask with a mouth opening, which could explain why we can't see his eyes if the yellow-pink motif becomes a recurring theme among special bosses.

I wish Andrew was a bit more open to theories that pick up on the Christian themings that are very much present in the game. I get it would just open more questions and complications and or doesn't answer anything, but it's still worth acknowledging to some degree.

I'd watched one or two of your videos but wasn't really aware of your channel, but I loved you during this series, especially with the points you made and your diligent fact checking, so I've been watching more videos on your channel. I never even thought about Dess being thematically similar to the "cut content" of Gaster and his followers. And yeah, Out_SiN has a point with nobody talking about her for two days, but still, so much about Undertale and a extent Deltarune is based on the sense of the game know there's a player and how much do they know about the world. If Toby hid this from us until this point, is fair game. Well, thats what I think anyway lol. This podcast came out great, it helped me think and make sense of a lot about Spamton Sweepstakes (still wandering what happened to Spamton B)

I've had an exhausting day, and what better way to relax then to watch fellow nerds nerding out over my favorite nerd game :3 edit: i'm not done with the podcast yet so i dont quite know if this was mentioned or not, but the book of hymns and the hymn of the angel could be a teaser to a future secret boss

I'd like to say, they said Spamton can't go into the basement, but he can. It's just that he can't put himself into the device while still being in the disk. But this also begs the question; How did he get the suit in snowgrave? Another person would have to help Spamton for him to get into the suit.

I have a crack theory that definitely might not be true as we get more info, but as of now this theory makes the most amount sense to me: I think that the chair and coat is sort of a teaser for the next secret boss, which could be Mike since it’s hinted that he may play a major role in the next chapter. It’s shown that Mike and spamton used to be friends, right? And that all the secret bosses are shown to have a connection to Gaster? The “what if we can get darker than dark” line on the website with the chair may be Mike revealing to spamton (because of the yellow and pink eyes at the end) some critical information that gaster told him? Maybe the creepy smile in the basement was actually Mike’s face, and when spamton and Mike separated, he began wearing pink and yellow glasses to pay tribute to him? Again, we don’t have a lot of information but I just wanted to put this out there as a sort of explanation

About the chair, I have seen someone saying it's the shadow mantel on it? And the eyes (image_friend) might be Mike or whoever was friends with Spamton? It's the "friends" option in Spamton's shop where he talks about Mike iirc. About the Gaster (in fanon) being forgotten and Dess not being talked much, it draws my attention and bothers me because of the whole theme of deltarune's "Don't forget." Wonder how this would end up. Also about the drawing Alvin drew not showing up in the Dark World? This is my interpretation: What's the most top right room and also the final room you see in the chapter 1 Dark World? The Dark fountain. Alvin works for the church. The background music for the fountain is called "THE HOLY".

Dark, Darker yet Darker as a signifyier of the concept of layering dark worlds inside dark worlds sounds very, very interesting. Given the current implications that dark worlds are metaphorical for fantasy worlds, and the quasi-obvious anti-escapist cautionary tale implications, and uuuuuh EVERYTHING about undertale fandom, the concept of creating Darkworlds inside Darkworlds (worlds of fantasy inside of worlds of fantasy, giving life and intention to the incidental inanimate objects that exist as secondary tools for the fantastical beings of a world that were actually already inanimate objects given life... while convoluted this must sound at the very least familiar to us) sounds inevitable and ripe for exploration, and the idea that gaster awaits us in (at the very least) a third layer of fiction resembles the hops and games inside games that were necessary to even know about him in his very first incarnation. This is extremely solid material it would surprise me if Toby didn't play with it at the very least a little bit. I think that dismissing too quickly the notion of the Pink and Yellow eyes transcending Spamton would be misguided. The Swatch glasses thing being a red herring sounds extremely Toby Fox. I don't think it's weird that people link Gaster into "all theories" because it seems almost explicit that Deltarune as a game is a Gaster experiment to connect a "player" with Kris through the soul, which would mean he is extremely present in our story. "The Angel" is quite probably a role, probably the level of power that Asriel achieved in the pacifist route, but it probably requires the player to channel their will into a particular storyline. I don't think Noelle is literally The Angel, but more likely a strong candidate for the role (one of the main ones probably) and the fact that she is particularly susceptible to player manipulation would support neatly this theory.

HAHAHAHAHA, BLOOD BLOOD! BLOOD BLOOD!!!! I SHALL LEAVE A COMMENT ON ALL PARTS, SPREADING MY CHAOS ACROSS THE DELTACAST! So I strongly believe monsters in Deltarune don't bleed due to one line of dialogue in Chapter 1. If you knock on the doors near the alley, a monster child seems to be on the other side of one of the doors. They talk to Kris about how they heard that Kris is the only human in town and then they ask Kris if it hurts to be made of blood. This strongly connects Kris being human to being made of blood, however I suppose it's possible that only a few types of monsters bleed which is a way that some monsters could bleed while Kris's bleeding could still be seen as rare, but that just kinda seems like a stretch to me. The simpler answer tends to be the more believable to me so I'll stick with only humans in Deltarune bleeding for now. (Which is ironic considering I'm a big supporter of the Sans Undertale being from Deltarune theory and Sans bleeding tends to be used as evidence of that, but honestly idrk)

I think the cabinet in the classroom is the card castle and Susie* and Kris falling is them shrinking in size(?)

another thing im not sure if you know the smile is in is, early on in the berdly fight it was gonna have barricades randomly appear to stop u from hitting him but they normally just had Q for queen on them but there was a 1 in 200 chance for it to change to having that smile on it too

38:45 You mentioned the idea of home movies. I think that would be an interesting option for the chapter 3 secret boss. If a darkner were created from memories of Kris’s childhood, that could make for some heart-wrenching scenes for them and possibly Toriel. I could definitely see those falling into the same “forgotten, unused” category that Jevil and Spamton did. Not sure how that would manifest into a character off the top of my head, but I like the concept.

I love rtvs sp much and Jara not liking the stream is so hilarious to me I live the whole thing so much, it’s a mix if rtvs’s absurd irl shit, Toby’s humour and spamtons “off” and weird feel I love it

About the yellow and link colours... There's a group of line stickers featuring a weird clown. It's been referenced by jevil a lot (Metamorphosis, I Can Do Anything etc.) And there's one sticker where the clown is holding two balloons. Yellow and pink. I don't think it's very lore relevant, but it IS weird.

Something interesting to note about the wristwatch is that it also links Noelle through a different way as well. When talking to Noelle at the hospital after Snowgrave, the player has the choice to give her back her wristwatch and thus prove that it wasn't a dream. Just some food for thought.

Just now noticing that smiling face would fit Gaster's face. Compare that to the mystery man sprite. Also noticing that the eyeballs also look like mystery man's hands as well. Maybe MM is upside-down Gaster. EDIT: And the left side of the left eye being dented slightly seems to follow the MM's face as well.

just typing this down as a bypassing theory from things yall discussed in this, but if we assume that all dark worlds exist simultaneously with the concept of the spsce between them being the dark/the code/along those lines, and gaster has some sort of influence over it, and if we also roll with the theory that asriel and dess knew about dark worlds and fountains and even explored them when kris and noelle were younger, then what's to say dess didn't disappear during one of their adventures? maybe she "got lost in the code" as we've phrased it, and that's part of why noelle is so obsessed with glitches and video game easter eggs, because that's what she thinks her sister disappeared because of? if gaster is the one "controlling"/"seeing" between the worlds, then that could be why the people he has influence over (assuming he has influence over spamton and jevil), more exactly spamton, also know of dess's existence and taunts noelle with it? and even continuing, maybe that's why asriel left hometown to attend college, because he felt like he couldn't stay this close to where (presumably) his best friend disappeared? tldr: this obviously needs more fleshing out but i definitely think it's a possibility that dess disappeared when adventuring in dark worlds with asriel, and now is trapped in the code/between dark worlds with gaster (and the ones he has influence over) being aware of her existence?

I don't know if you see this but my theory of why Ralsei is able to follow you is because Kris wears a hearth shaped neckless like how Chara and Asriel did in UnderTale

I never got why people talked about the smile thing in the basement too much. I've always assumed and probably always will assume that it's not *physically* Spamton or anyone being there but just a weird thing to creep people out if they notice it.

Monster Town seems like the type of perfect religious small town where nothing ever goes wrong...and when something tragic happens, everyone acts like nothing is wrong. That's my view on the Dess situation. To be honest I still don't trust Father Alvin and the monster church. I think there's something very dark underneath the town's cheery exterior.

Why is no one talking about the fact that spamton's yellow and pink glasses are the exact same colors as the names in undertale can be when you can spare them? Normally they are yellow, but the froggit in the ruins can change them to pink.

about the eyes, how curious that the most difficult characters in each chapter and undertale have yellow eyes. sans yellow and blue, spamton yellow and pink, jevil yellow and yellow xd maybe it's a pattern, maybe not

Macaron?" 16:02 I just realized there's been kind of a debate over "Do Monsters have blood" because of that kid in the window who asks if humans are made of it, but Susie says everybody bleeds & has an unused bleeding animation. Are we sure this "Have or don't" thing about blood could be addressed to monsters, or is it Spamton fishing for a Human/Lightner with a [HEART-SHAPED OBJECT](A SOUL)? Is this an admission that monsters have blood, or a ploy by Spamton? 16:22 "Didn't get ported over"? 19:59 What if the tattered wings aren't the angel's? As in, Noelle is the angel, & Susie is the tattered wings. "Being someone's wings" can mean supporting them, & Susie is pretty rough, but she still has a romance element with Noelle. 21:10 Lol, HalfBreadChaos. 22:33 Was any dialogue skipped during the "technical difficulties"? 22:58 That is suspicious, even outside of Kris & Noelle's family, who would know her, & Kris's classmates, who Dess is out of the age range of.... Burgerpants talks about Asriel, but I'm unsure he'd be friends with Dess. 27:25 But we can assume Kris remembers Dess, despite not mentioning her, for obvious reasons, right? Kris, Noelle, Asriel & Dess hung out before, & there's nothing suggesting Kris doesn't know/remember who Dess is when someone mentions her. There's no Noelle asking Kris "What do you mean, 'Who's Dess?', Kris?" or something. Though, there is the "Dess" line of conversation of Rudy that could imply unfamiliarity, but I'd bet there could just as easily be for player convenience, or to imply whoever's controlling Kris may want that information, be it out of unfamiliarity, or other info. I think the second dark world is based on the desires & feelings of Noelle & Berdly because they entered it first. I think the only times that world reflects Kris, Susie, & Ralsei are when it's caused by their internet history or their actions after entering that world. Which raises a question: Why is there a puzzle that contains the same "word" that was in Sans' word search & why is there a chance of hearing Sans' voice in the puzzle room? Has Sans been there? Or more likely, Papyrus? Did Papyrus make the second dark world? Was he the "hypothetical" large person hiding in the closet? Is he the knight like people have been saying? "That's my closet. There are no skeletons in there. Except me sometimes." It would explain why it's full of red cars & why both dark worlds have deadly puzzles. The first dark world even had puzzles with button panels, spikes, & teamwork. Papyrus loves puzzles, button panels, spikes, & the power of friendship. It's also implied that Rouxls didn't design those puzzles because he's the one who vandalized the sign explaining explaining one of them. Who likes explaining puzzles & making signs? Lanc- I mean Papyrus.

As dumb and obvious as it sounds, the fact that we can take Susie with us to the dark worlds could be incredibly important. Combine that with the fact that several bits were added in to show both that the dark worlds existed previously as well as some implications that we, or someone has been to them before, and the last, final question to add to the mixture "what happens when you create a dark fountain within a dark world. Mixing all 3 of these could be the basis of a theory where Dess, hanging with Asriel, and us, and maybe Noelle as well, went into the dark worlds, tried to make a fountain inside, and lost Dess as a result, though as far as I know, the only evidence for the dark worlds existing before is darkners relationships with each other, and the only evidence of us having gone to one before is the Kris save file, and other then that, it's a lot of conjecture, but I think it's an interesting concept, considering we don't know what Kris knows, and that fact will likely be used against us later

3:30 ... Ralsey has pink eyes we ONLY ever see when Susie toys whit his glasses after we leave Queens basement for the first time ever. Edit: not particularly relevant but if Toby was making that connection between characters whit Pink and/or Yellow eyes that'd be wild. Also Sans' eye is sometimes yellow during his attacks and/or when we are trying to escape his ,, special attack" too early.
