Reminds me of that time the Tenth Doctor was trying to be inspiring and convince a group of hostile aliens to leave peacefully but had had a rough couple of days and just woken up so he just ended up quoting the Circle of Life from the Lion King. 🤣
The thing is... Crowley is a naturally good person. He does good without even thinking about it. But he really has to make an effort to be evil. And when he does, he's really good at being evil as well. Aziraphale, on the other hand, is naturally a dick. When he's not consciously making an effort, he kills small animals, acts entitled and also wants to keep all his possessions for himself. But he's also capable of good deeds and is more than willing to perform miracles for people. In conclusion: they both act very human, something that nobody else in heaven and hell is really capable of.
Exactly! I mentioned this in my comment, too. Crowley is a freaking pacifist! Even to save his own life he'll only go so far as to set a trap and then clearly warn the person/demon to give them a chance to leave peacefully. The Nazis in the church, the holy water over the door while choosing not to put any in the mister, driving obviously towards hellfire, etc. Even at the final battle when Aziraphale was wielding his sword Crowley refused to miracle a weapon and just held on to the part from his beloved car. I know God needed him countering the forces of hell to give humans a chance to save themselves but for fuck's sake THIS cinnamon roll is who she chose to damn to the fires of hell with a bunch of evil torturing demons?!
@@RivkahSong Though I agree Crowley is overall a pacifist, he didn't put the holy water in the mister only because he didn't have enough time. Also, he did kill Ligur after all.
@@kasiamleczarska9078 He had the time to pose dramatically in his chair and miracle away the tongs and apron. It would have taken seconds to pour a couple drops into the bottle at the same time he poured it into the bucket. Way more liquid came out of that bucket than was in the thermos so he would probably only have needed a tiny few drops in the already water filled mister. He chose not to. Not once during the entire apocalypse is Crowley ever confrontational or threatening. And he killed Ligur the same way he killed the Nazis, by setting up a situation and letting them decide whether or not to trigger it. He's completely passive in their deaths and only set it up in self defense/to protect Aziraphale.
@@RivkahSong What you're describing is how it was potrayed in the show. In the book it says he used up all his time to prepare the bucket trap and didn't have enough time left to fill the mister with holy water and was hoping Hastur won't see him through. As for Ligur being given a choice, I strongly disagree. Ligur just opened the door having no idea what was waiting for him. He wasn't given any warning as to what would happen if he opened the door, he just did because it was the logical thing to do. He was assaulted. Still, it's not like I'm calling Crowley a murderer or anything. It was in self-defense. I love the book and the show and Crowley's one of my favorite fictional characters ever. So I hope you're not taking this discussion too seriously.
Actually that first scene when he says "You're an angel, I don't think you can do the wrong thing" was described in the book as a sarcastic comeback at what Zira said previously about Crowley being a demon and only being able to cause trouble. But Zira didn't get that and took Crowley's words as a compliment.
I think it's really telling that he can walk straight into a church with only mild discomfort in the form of "walking on hot sand in your bare feet." I'm betting Hastur or Ligur would have been a puddle on the floor in less than three steps. Pacifistic cinnamon roll snek that he is.
i think the thing that seperates crowly frome other demons is that hes more about getting people to embrace there base desires but dosent like pain or deth. the paint ball scene is a good example he lets people indulge in there anger and frustration but no one is hurt.

In Jewish mythology there is a demon/ human called leith who is credited with being Adams first wife and she was cast out first because she wouldn't be subordinate to Adam. In other fiction she is called night children and they where called that due to looking up at the stars and questioning things. Crowley helped create the stars he questioned God, that seems to be his only crime..

Angels and demons in the book have identical wings One thing I like about the show is that Aziraphale’s wing tips are a light gray, and so are Crowley’s. They’re not pure black or pure white, there’s a little bit of evil and goodness in both of them. In the words of aziraphale: “I was terrified you would be hell incarnate. I wanted you to be heaven incarnate. But you turned out as something better than that. You’re human incarnate.” (Btw he looked at Crowley when he said that too)
Crowley is freaking tragic when you think about it. He's still that same angel God created to the point that he's basically a pacifist. Aziraphale won't hesitate to threaten or even kill (guillotine dude, anyone?) but Crowley, even to save his own life, will not actively commit violence. Even with the holy water he just set it up so if they decided to pursue him it'd come down on them and then chose NOT to put so much as a drop in the mister even though he clearly had enough and even diluted holy water (would it dilute or just bless the whole lot?) would maim if not kill. But he didn't want to commit violence even against a demon that wanted to torture him for eternity. Not once does he actively seek to hurt someone. He just creates traps that they could easily escape if they chose to leave him alone. All that kindness and gentle nature and God made him a demon so she could have her pieces on the chessboard where she needed them. God is a dick.

If you mean when he walks into the bookshop i think its queen ‘youre my best friend’ or ‘friends will be friends. Im not sure. But it is queen. And when he walks out of the bookshop its ‘somebody to love’ also from queen
