How many times have you had to use your horn on your bike because people haven't seen you?? If you are on the road as much as us, or more, we bet you find that the standard horn isn't the best.
We found our standard horns weren't at all noticeable so we found some Denali Soundbombs and fitted them. Although not much louder, the lower tone of the horn makes them much more noticeable to other motorists. It could save your life!

It might seem less loud, but acoustically, a lower frequency has a longer wavelength which theoretically would not be dampened as much by the thickness and sound dampening material of the car that's cutting you off.

The BMW 5 Series car horn will fit the R1200GS GSA straight in no mess, make sure you get the LOW TONE. That one work but the High tone will not. The sound is more about the frequency and what the human ear picks up most easily. The kids will hear high pitch noises played out of speakers on shop fronts to stop them hanging about where some older folk just won't hear it at all (thus they don't mind hanging around shops nattering) Picked up at scrappy for a fiver. thats for the horn not the old folk...

I have the mini on my '21 mt09, I'm going to install the full monty air sound bomb 💣. OMG, the thing is f ing terrifying! Louder than ANY car horn on the market!

Hi. I have a MT09 2021. Where did you install the Denali Mini? I have change the place of the OEM Horn now, it is under the engine. I am interested to change.

Great video guys, the Sound Bomb is definitely on my todo list now, funny how DB wise it's actually quieter than the standard horn! Sorry to be pedantic but the connector isn't CANBUS it's just a BMW connector. CANBUS is the technology that's used for the various controllers to communicate with each other using a single physical cable. The output to the various peripherals is bog standard 12 volts :-)

thats great to know.. they say every day is a school day. Thanks for letting us know about the CANBUS name as we didn't know it was the technology that was named....... but i do wish that BMW made it easier to fit stuff without having to buy another cable... That aside, this horn is great. Ride safe :)

Yeah is weird that it is quieter, but much deeper and 'fuller' sound, so hopefully will help us if we need to use it :)

I concur. I was getting upset by the fact they now put horns on the canbus. They indeed put so many things on canbus nowadays! But not this one. Hey, the video is not too bad except the parts where he says canbus lol jk

Hi, All Denali "sound bomb" horns are made in Italy by Fiamm, who actually make horns for all the automotive industry. so Fit a Fiat horn exactly the same thing but half the price.

If you really want to be heard, Fiamm AM80SX High-Low horns are the way to go.

CANBUS is the communication system from one module to another. The horn is just 12 volts, not CANBUS. What you mean is the specific plug on the wire that the manafacturer uses.

Actually it's quite difficult! Nippy Norman's specified a Garmin connector, and when I queried this they insisted it was the correct connector, which of course it isn't. So I had to send the Garmin leads back from France and I am waiting for the correct lead to arrive. It says Garmin on the packet so maybe they just were'nt "plugged in" that day. That's a week at least of not using my bike. You would have thought for the cock-up they could have found a faster method of getting the lead to me. Grrrrrrrrr...... great video though. You guys are so lovely.

Massive improvement to the stock horn on a VFR800 VTEC. However, I did have to extend the bracket by about an inch.

I tried the mini sound bomb on mine too. But the can bus didn't accept it. So I had to put in a relay, to make it work. If I had known this I would have bought the big sound bomb instead. 2013 1200 gs lc.

Holly... £17.00 for a cable? That's nearly half the price of the horn itself or so!!! Proportionally, it is kind of the biggest steal ever but, when you need it, well... you need it.

Always go with the Denali SoundBomb Compact/Split. Much louder with a better duel tone sound. Sounds like a 70's pickup truck. When I hit it cagers jump out of their skin and back into their proper lane so quick its almost comical. I assume they think they are about to get run over by a large truck or SUV.

Think that's the soundbomb mini isn't it? The Soundbomb proper has 2 variants, a joined and a split version (horn and compressor are separate in the split version). Thinking about getting the Soundbomb proper with some additional lighters and wiring in with the Hex ezCan. You should check it out if you haven't already.

hey mate, thanks.... schoolboy error that i missed the Mini bit off the description. it was so small on the box i didnt really see it... hahahhaa...... your right the soundbomb proper has the 2 chambers, and we really wanted them but would have had to get someone to fit it, as we aren't the best at fitting into the look etc.... :)

Paused the video @ 1:50 - came to look for similar comment - won't be buying the Sound Bomb Mini...in fact I've sent Trading Standards and The Advertising Standards Authority a complaint about the product title - think it should be renamed Sound Fart Wet Version Then began to search for something audible

fitted mine last year....the problem you guys faced with the sound bomb and stock horn was that the meter needs to be 3 feet away to get the accurate reading you are after...ie 113Db...and .. in real life the sound bomb is louder than the pathetic stock factory rubbish...in Traffic here in Australia, car drivers think you are another car and get the shock of their life and move over when they here me lane filtering and punching the horn button

Your right it’s not a massive massive difference but much better than the stock horn. We’ve now fitted the Denali soundbomb which is a two tone horn and is much much louder. Both easy to fit too :)

Agree with both. No point loosing time and money with the Denali mini. Go with the soundBomb directly. Soundbomb sound like a huge truck. you also have a split version where the compresor and acoustic parts are separate allowing a cleanner and better instalation. i just bought this denali soundbomb split and i love it

Nona Ubiz The lower frequencies of the Denali horn travel further than the higher frequencies of most motorcycle stock horns. This makes it worth the hassle and cost, to me, to obtain a horn that can be heard in a car many yards away from me. It would be great to see someone do a real world situation test to allow everyone to see the difference is quite large.

This video does not represent the power that this horn has. I made the mistake they did and just had the bike to the on position. The horn was weak. After I got the bike running, I tried the horn again and it was insanely loud. I think the horn needs the full power of the bikes battery to work properly.

RiderCamTV I've ordered the horn based on a few reviews including this one. It's going on my rediculously over specced ebike (14hp 120nm dh mtb). The proximity is why you got skewed results, you were maxing out the microphone on the phone ;)

A lovely part of the world you ride in there. I ride a GSA as well, and I wouldn't be surprised if BMW designed the stock horn to operate at a frequency that is piercing at a variety of speeds and distances. It does sound weak for such a big bike, in terms of perception, but I've had multiple encounters with pedestrians and cars where blowing the stock horn seems to have surprised people and gotten their attention. Of course the manual doesn't address this, but I suspect that BMW designed the stock horn to operate at a fundamental frequency effective to get someone's attention.

It is lovely in Cornwall. Some Fab roads too! I found the stock horn next to useless especially as people in cars listen to music etc. They barely hear blues and twos sometimes. Eek!

Just listened to these horns and neither come anywhere close to the sound of the standard BMW twin horns on my 1994 K1100LT. I've scared more car drivers and numpty pedestrians with them because they sound like a truck horn

Go on ebay and enter digital horn You get 2 horns a electronic relay all the wirering and you got a minimum of 18 different sounds all for 15$ canadian got that installed on my car and man ohhh man is it ever loud so denali can go back to sleep

I'm sure its better, the cell app is limited, number 1, and you need to hold the meter 3 feet away so as to get an accurate comparison. your just overloading the cell phone mic being so close.

I'm quite shocked some think is of "little difference" Maybe they cant tell on a phone or tinny sounding laptop. To me its the difference between a car horn & a moped one. Much deeper in sound just like a car.

You guys made a huge mistake in making this video. I bought the Denali low horn and installed it. I turned the power on and honked the horn like you did. The horn was weak like it is in this video. The problem is that the bike needs to be running to get full power to the horn. I was almost livid to spend money on that horn, but when I heard it with the bike running...holy cow! What an awesome horn.

thanks for the comments, although it still wasnt loud enough as i nearly got took out by a car driver and using this horn, they didnt hear, so hence the move to the full Denali Soundbomb...

I would suggest that the Canbus system would see the extra amperage drain and not allow it to happen would be my guess.

It's the mini. It's basically a stock replacement without requiring a harness/relay. It sounds better than the stock horn. The regular soundbomb is much louder but requires a harness and relay.
