Is this right? If I let z=(a,b) be a nonzero complex number where a is the distance from the origin and b is the counterclockwise angle from the positive x axis, then as |(a,b)| is (a,b) rotated onto the positive reals, I can consider z'=(a+c,b) and z=(a,b). As |z| just rotates rays from the origin onto the positive x axis, distances along such rays are preserved. Therefore, the change in distance is the same for z vs z' and |z| vs |z'|, notably c (so the rate of change is c/c, or 1), and the change in angle is -b. Thus the derivative of |z| is (1,-b)

@@intellecta2686 Hello Ivana, I will be 68 in July and I am now making a wonderful recovery from a condition called irritable bowel syndrome IBS and I have never felt as we'll as I do today at long last. I have suffered with this mind and mood altering IBS since November 1971 over 49 years ago. I have always felt hope. I'm blessed to feel that way when some people lose all hope and commit suicide about 400 here in Ireland every year. Please I know how busy you are so do not feel under any obligation to reply to me. I am glad you are doing well now. I'm sending you a lot of positive energy. I somehow think that our body is just a vehicle that needs to be well maintained but by no means identify with the body. Every difficulty we have we can observe from the side and not identify, then relief is experienced. It's the same with thoughts. We’ve been collecting them for years but we’re not our thoughts. the problem is that people identify with thoughts which leads to depression and unfortunately to suicide. Our thoughts mostly lie 😁 observe and let go. ❤
