My buddy is a die hard walleye fisherman I took him bass fishing last early summer , tied on a wopper plopper for him after he caught 30 in one day he was hooked greatest lure ever invented
First time coming across your video. You made some great points and the quality of your presentation was spot on! We have to get you some more subscribers...like me (just subscribed)!
I sometimes will also fish the WP like you would fish a popper, from a stand still it really makes an awesome "plurp" sound whenever you just give it a single decently heavy jerk motion with pretty good surface commotion
Nice! I just talked about that tactic in part 3 of the series. My pops are typically subtle pops. Do you find more success popping in certain conditions more than others?
Just discovered your channel and will be tuned in. I've been a WP user for a few years now and had one thing to offer. The "tone" of the various sized Whopper Ploppers varies as well. Obviously this can best be heard on one of those dead quiet mornings/evenings but I have, with success, changed baits (and varied speed) in an effort to get a different "pitch." Like you said, the same can be true for buzz baits and more. And, I'm a huge believer, this is an 85% auditory lure. Keep up the good work!
Great insight! In part 2 of this series, I'll cover the entire WP lineup (190-60) and talk about, as you highlighted, the various sizes and tones produced. Thanks for commenting, I really appreciate it!
Great footage man! I've been in LOVE w/the Plopper since 2020 when I finally broke down & bought 1. 3 Smallies on my 1st 5 casts! Have caught I'd guess close to 1000 Bass on them since, love the Loon & the Bone. Have also been using the Berkley Choppo since 2022 w/similar results. Great Video & information, new Sub from Indiana!
Thanks for watching! No, not the same. The size 3/0 treble hooks will be much larger than the size 3 treble hooks. 👉 www.rapala.com/us_en/9650-round-bend-treble-1x?childSku=us-9650BN#3/0C
You’re right I didn’t talk about sizes in this one but I do go over the size differences in part 2. Ranking them is difficult for me because of so many variables (it would change from smallmouth to largemouth etc) but I might try to put something together here soon. Thanks for watching!
IM GLAD THAT NOBODY KNOWS MY WHOPPER PLOPPER SECRETS! YOU NEW AGE ROOKIES JUST KEEP COPYING EACH OTHERS WRONG INFO VIDEOS. LOVE IT! IVE BEEN FISHING THIS STYLE OF LURE SINCE THEY WERE MADE OF WOOD & METAL.
