The green energy that the chain hook was made out of is called “Strand.” It’s a mysterious, reality-warping energy that derives its power from string theory, the idea that the universe and everything within it is interconnected by vast strings of matter and energy. It’s extremely powerful but wielding it is dangerous until you’ve mastered it. During the campaign of “Destiny 2: Lightfall,” you travel to Neptune to stop a powerful alien emperor named Calus (dripped out space rhino) and his boss, the Witness (goth Megamind) from destroying the Sol System, the Traveler (giant white space marble), and humanity. The Witness has made Calus one of its Disciples, giving him incredible power in exchange for servitude. Calus has prepared for every possibly thing we can throw at him… *except Strand.* Calling upon the mysterious energy, it’s up to you to stop Calus, bring down the Black Fleet (giant Dorito ships), and send the Witness running before it completes its goal: obtaining something it only refers to as “The Final Shape.”
