Hey everyone welcome back to my channel! Today we’re going to be talking about a trend that i’m sure we’ve all picked up on in the past year, Only Fans. I’m sure you guys don’t need me to tell you how popular the platform has become as of late but it’s not really a surprise when you consider the number of creators posting about their insane monthly paychecks from the app. Like most platforms that start to gain traction, it’s inevitable that creators from other platforms will jump onto the new one to see what it’s like/get in on the hype, but the migration to Only Fans is a little different than say, jumping onto Tik Tok, because the platform is quite a bit different than other big social media platforms we use due to one quality, which is that they allow “spicy” content (thats the word we’ll be going with lol).
Naturally, the hype of the app and the controversy of “spicy” content made Only Fans a recipe for success and attention, or maybe disaster when you consider that the platform’s popularity has now drawn the attention of celebrities and influencers. You might be thinking “wouldn’t them joining be a good thing?” in some ways yes, but in a lot of ways, unfortunately, no. It turns out their presence on the platform has caused a lot of issues for OF creators who make “spicy” content and built the app into what it is today. So I thought it might be interesting to check out some of the stories that have come from influencers and celebrities joining Only Fans, their impact on the app and its culture, and also look into the platform’s insane popularity and how that happened.
We’ll also be looking into how Only Fans overtook Patreon which (imo) is basically the same concept, has been around a lot longer and used by RU-vidrs for ages, yet has taken a backseat to OF as of recent.
