This is some of the best guitar/bass/banjo I have ever heard. Yes, and Lucia is awesome. My favourite band for quite some time. I miss the beard too :-\
Meet me down by the (mobile down?) trees There's a thousand things you got to see to believe Come on, lay those bones down at my feet We're gonna look to the future, see what we see Man, I say you future looks pretty damn dim I couldn't say if you're gonna sink or swim Give me five dollars and I'll sing you a song Gonna tell you something you knew all along That's, uh Yes, I know we all die at the end of the road Ain't nothin' round here you can hold Guess no, guess no, body knows That when I die, go back home Yes, I know we all die at the end of the road Ain't nothin' round here you can hold When I go, just take my bones Scatter them from here back to my home Listen to me, now when I speak Say, I do my best talkin' when I'm fast asleep Come on and lay your head down next to mine You can listen to the spirits of the dead just fine, oh Come on, help me with these iron wings We're gonna fly so high we hear the angels sing Man, it feels good to have my feet off the ground I hope the good God Almighty that I never come down Yes, I know we all die at the end of the road Ain't nothin' round here you can hold When I go, just take my bones Scatter them from here back to my home Yes, I know we all die at the end of the road Ain't nothin' round here you can hold When I go, just take my bones Scatter them from here back to my home
Wonderful, amazing, talented! Can't get enough of them. Counting the days until February, when I can see them live for the first time! DM3, thank you for the great music!!!!!!!
Love this. Reminds me of the old style New Orleans street musicians before the T-Shirt shops and bars ruined it requiring permits to limit street musicians . Rhythm, with just a base, guitar, and banjo.
It's cool when you find a new song from a band you never heard from... plus they are awesome with lyrics, style, music and everything ^^ then you hope they have more good songs... and damn son every single song is a burner!
dang it!! I missed that show, i had to work.. my two favorite bands right here in Asheville!! ha.. i knew that i'd drink too much and end up laying gracefully face down. next time they come around i'll call for a taxi! hope that you had a good time!! TBT!!!!
Usually Baroque music is prominent in my musical choice, even then I'm very selelctive and I'm not musically trained. DMT have an exellent level, would love to see them given more dimensions to explore. Not only brilliant musicianship but lyircs and performance too. Perhaps they need to separate the subculture and evolve the music, there's risk and resistance, but there's huge potential.
These were punk rockers that grew up to play country and folk. Excellent stuff. Btw could they have planned the shot a little better? That poor fuckin banjo player is behind that pole.
